Yeah baby!  If you haven't heard it yet, you're going to love it.  homeless J. is the lead song on JammerDirect.com's JamNation Volume 1 compilation CD.  The disc is available online at JammerDirect.com and in stores at Wooden Nickel in Fort Wayne for just $1.99.

"Lady in White" is a never before released track recorded by homeless J. at
TBush Recording Studios).  The audition process was held at Piere's Entertainment Center between February and July 2008 and consisted of almost 70 bands.  The result is 12 bands selected from a panel of 3 judges based on performance, stage presence, songwriting, and showmanship.

For those of you who knew Ben Schone, the prospect of a homeless J. show is a bit daunting.  For those of you who don't know, Ben Schone took his life Tuesday, April 7th of Holy Week.

Schone was a huge asset to homeless J. shows – liberally befriending strangers and sharing many good tidings with his closest friends. Of course he was also belting out lyrics at the top of his lungs. For many, the shows were a regular chance to catch up, hang out and take in life with Schone. I can't remember a show in Fort Wayne in the last 5 years when he was not there.

That said, a show without him feels almost sad and definitely looming. I honestly considered canceling the show for that reason. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized we had to play it, because of Schone. Schone's death is a tragedy, no way around it. His life, though, was and is a celebration of the Life – life to the fullest.

For those of you who knew Schone I ask you to come out and celebrate life as he would have. It won't be the same, to be sure. It will be strange. Together, though, through community, music, love and life (the very things that Schone embodied) we can celebrate his life. For those of you who did not know Schone, come and enjoy a toast to a good man, artist, and comrade. Thanks and see you Saturday, April 25th.

Our beautiful, wonderful friends...

It's been far too long.  So, the J is back in the Fort!  Come out to Bill's City Grill on Spy Run Ave (used to be Mid City Grill - now remodeled and under new management) on Saturday, April 25th around 9:00pm.  It'll be all homeless J. all night long (no opening band).  We have some special things up our sleeve.  Don't miss it.

P.S.  We just added a cool new video (set to "Wrong" off of "Until the Twilight") to http://www.homelessj.com (on home page) with tons of press shots and pictures from live shows.

Calling all Homeless J fans!

We will be doing a mini-run of shows this month. We would love to see you at some of them (we really do have some great fans...)!

1. We will be in Chicago THIS Saturday night at the MIX Bar (in Lincoln Park) with a great singer-songwriter and her band Sherri-Anne and Bird. We will be on the stage around 10 pm. Chicago natives come on out. Locals...it would be a fun road trip!!! Let us know if you are interested!

2. The next Friday (5.16) we will be Detroit country. We are playing a very cool all-age venue called the District. Doors open at 8:30 pm (we will be on around 9:30). No alcohol but they have a really cool coffeehouse/club attached to it. We are playing with a local Detroit band Julian Castle and a cool band out of Nash Vegas called Shirock. Michigan people of all-ages come on out. We would LOVE to see you there. (We normally hang after the shows somewhere in Detroit.)

3. Finally we will be returning to fort wayne to play our first show at Columbia Street West in 2008. Hard to believe its been that long. We are VERY excited about it. We will be playing a very special "set of covers" that will reflect on many of our musical influences. Whatever we can do to keep it interesting for all our faithful fans!

Come out and see us and one of these shows. We would love to see you! We really do appreciate all the support. See you soon...
