Current mood:  productive
Hi everyone!  Thought it's about time I give you another update, since it's been a while. I feel like the last several months have been an absolute whirlwind!   I've been really busy between traveling to Nashville to work on COLMANblue, my job, being a Mommy AND my new venture with Media Ministries which I am so excited to tell you about.  My cd "Days of Eden" is available NOW internationally through Media Ministries/Universal Music and can be bought/ordered in any shop in Europe and soon in the US, as well as downloaded from all major download sites!!  (Check out iTunes and Amazon to order now) Check back often because we're planning a contest in which YOU will help us choose single to release.  I'd love your input!!

On a personal note, we celebrated my daughter Stella's 2nd birthday in February!!  I can hardly believe that she's two!  The time has flown and she is growing into such a beautiful, sweet, and determined little girl.  Just referring to her as a little girl is hard, because she's still my baby, and reminds me that sometimes after I've asked her "Stella, are you a big girl?" and she says, "No Mommy, baby!"   But day by day I see her blossoming, learning new things, so eager and curious about the world around her.   She is talking up a storm and voicing her opinions!!   My favorite is when she wraps her arms around me and exclaims "Mommy, I lub you so much!"  I'm so thankful to be her Mommy and to be the one who helps her grow, discover, and learn.  Stella is already quite the traveler, and has been accompanying me on some of my trips to Nashville, and she has a blast!

The update with COLMANblue is that after continuing writing and demoing, we are finishing our first round of  songs, and very soon we'll be posting the first one!   Finally, you be able to hear what we've been working so hard on!  I'm truly excited about the sound that is emerging, and am especially enjoying sharing this new journey with Chrissy and Kelli. Also, check out our Youtube channel to see tons of videos as we've been documenting our journey.  COLMANblue videos (www.youtube.com/colmanblue)

Thanks again for your support!!

Hi everyone!
I have some BIG news to share with you! As most of you know for seven years I was a part of Zoegirl with Alisa Childers and Chrissy Katina. Well, when Zoegirl was in the process of ending Chrissy and I talked about doing a project together. However, it didn't seem to be the right time, BUT over the past year or so Chrissy has been busy putting together a new group called ColmanBlue, and praying about each member, that God would lead them to the right person... Are your wheels turning yet?! After a great deal of prayer and thought, I have decided to join ColmanBlue with Chrissy and Kelli Trontell! I recently made a trip to Nashville to hang with them and do some recording. We had so much fun together, it was a great fit, and now I am so excited to see what God has in store for us. Thank you so much to everyone who has written and encouraged me, and to all you who have bought my cd!! My own music will still be available, and I feel so blessed to add to it this opportunity with ColmanBlue.

Check out our myspace www.colmanblue.com, so you can get to know ColmanBlue. We'll be putting lots more updates very soon as things progress. Keep us in your prayers too as we continue to write our album! Thanks again for all your support, and I look forward to seeing you on the road again!! And, thanks to Chrissy and Kelli, I'm so looking forward to this new chapter with you!

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

KRISTIN SCHWEAIN, FORMERLY OF ZOEGIRL, RELEASES
HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED DEBUT PROJECT DAYS OF EDEN
ON JUNE 10, 2008 THROUGH PINK CLOUD MUSIC

Debut single to impact Christian radio August 2008

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 3, 2008) – Up and coming recording solo artist Kristin Schweain, best known for her time as one-third of the group ZOEgirl, will release her highly-anticipated debut project, Days Of Eden, on June 10, 2008 independently through Pink Cloud Music.

Through her upcoming release, on which all songs were written by Schweain, the new artist embarks on a journey of faith with her audience and tackles some of life's most unexamined questions. Schweain also intimately shares the stories of loved ones, through Emma Prayed, a song about a young woman who prays for the very first time, and Tell, of which lyrics were uniquely inspired by her grandparents.

The first single will impact Christian radio August 2008.

Days Of Eden features a collection of catchy piano-driven tracks, often compared to the notable Christian music favorite Nichole Nordeman and new-comer mainstream artist Sarah Bareilles. Coupled with smooth, angelic vocals and a hint of jazz, the project clearly showcases Schweain's strong ability to hold her own as a solo artist by captivating the audience's hearts and minds through profound songwriting and soaring melodies.

Produced by Mike Childers (Alisa Childers) and mixed by Kent Hooper, Days Of Eden features 10-tracks that will touch the listener's soul and portray a fresh perspective of life through Schweain's unique gift of story-telling through music. With powerful anthem-like songs such as Men Of War and We Are Known, and catchy, uplifting melodies from When I Break to This Is Life, there is sure to be a song for everyone on this release.

Schweain plans to hit the road in upcoming months to promote the new project. More information to follow.

In addition to her upcoming release, Schweain is also notably recognized from her time spent as one-third part of ZOEgirl. After releasing their self-titled debut in 2000, ZOEgirl immediately earned the title as the fastest-selling debut artist in Sparrow Records' history. In 2002, the threesome accepted the Dove Award for Gospel Music Association's New Artist of the Year. With seven album releases and a string of radio hits, ZOEgirl has toured with acclaimed Christian artists such as Clay Crosse, Avalon, Natalie Grant, Newsboys, TobyMac, and Jump5 and embarked on multiple international missions trips through Big World Ventures and Brio Magazine. "ZOEgirl was an incredible experience that I will always carry with me," says Kristin. "I am honored to have shared a platform with Alisa (Childers) and Chrissy (Katina), whom I respect immensely. I will forever be grateful for their friendship."

In May 2008, after much prayer and encouragement from those around her, Schweain expanded her career and accepted a position at St. Paul Lutheran Church in her hometown of Jackson, MO as Associate Music director leading worship at the contemporary service.

"I have begun to embrace new and different opportunities as they have come my way, and through that I have gradually entered into a deeper place in my writing, in my life and in my faith," says Kristin. "I've realized recently more profoundly than ever that I've turned many pages in my life without really seeing what was written, and there has been much substance overlooked and blessings missed by my skimming through the content. My goal through my music is to be personal and candid, sharing my thoughts: the insecurities, the questions, the joy and pain, my love of life and God - all of it."

Hey everyone,

I apologize it's been forever since I've given you any updates, but the past couple of months have been pretty crazy for me. I've been working to finish my cd, but have also had some big decisions to face as well. So here's the scoop...

My cd, "Days of Eden," will be released on June 10th and available for purchase online! It feels great to finally have the date set. You will be able to pre-order the album very soon starting this month. I'm really happy with how everything has turned out, and I hope you will be, too. My other news is that after much prayer and thought I've accepted a position as Associate Music Director leading worship for the contemporary service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, MO. This is also the church that I grew up in, so it's a homecoming of sorts and an unexpected door that God has opened. It has certainly been an interesting year and a half for me since our last ZOEgirl show. Life had begun to shift as my husband and I prepared to bring our first child into the world, and on February 13th, 2007, our beautiful Stella Rose was born. What an incredible mark she has made! I could almost break out into a chorus of "A Whole New World," but I'll spare you the schmaltz. I can hardly believe it, but she is now a smiley, giggly, loving, sweet, curious, and at times head-strong 14 month old!! As I've adjusted to my new hat as Stella's mommy, retired ZOEgirl, and struggling musician again, I've been trying to figure out what is next for my music... and how on earth do I get there?! The transition into a solo ministry has been a little more prolonged than anticipated, and has provided quite a large interim time for me to lay the foundation, ie: recording the cd, making it available, seeking opportunities regarding it. At the same time, I've been asking myself, "How can I best contribute spiritually, emotionally, and financially to our budding family and all those added responsibilities that come with being a parent in order to make ends meet?" Enter this church music position. Having a "job", at least one that requires me to remain in the same state for more than a couple of weeks, will be new. But more importantly, I know God has called me here for this season and has a great deal in store for me. I am hopeful and open as this new chapter in my story begins.

I realized recently more profoundly than ever that I've turned many pages in my life without really seeing what was written, and there has been much substance overlooked and blessings missed by my skimming through the content. However, God's promises are true and because of His word and His story, I know that my ending is great. It's all the chapters and pages that unfold to get me there that I want to be thankful for, that I choose to be thankful for. There, I said it. Now I have to live it. It's a choice isn't it? I think I'm going to write that on several post it notes and stick them around the house so I can see that message and be reminded. I think I'll put two on my fridge.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. May your stories be rich and beautiful as you turn the pages, and like me, work to see the fine print and not miss the blessings.

Current mood:  thankful
My husband Ryan and I went on a much needed "date night" on Friday night. While we were in the car on our way to dinner, we were listening to music. I don't even know what we were listening to, something Ryan picked. As usual though, I was spacing out with the typical hundred different things running through my head; so many thoughts all firing at once as if it's the grand finale at a fourth of July fireworks show. It's often those times when Ryan says, "What's up babe? What are you thinking about?" I then become tongue tied and immediately frustrated and unable to say anything because how in the world can I explain how it's possible for so much to be going on all at once in my brain?" (This often happens at night when I'm trying to drift off to sleep as well...) He has the ability to shut it off but I've never been able to do that. Anyway, I begin by answering with, "Oh, I don't know, just... stuff... everything." Inevitably though I always take the bait, but by the time I barely scratch the surface and manage to hurriedly tie five different trains of thought together, that again, were all vying for the front of the line of my psyche-with the other 95 in tow, Ryan is wishing he hadn't asked! (...and probably making a note to self never to press me into trying to elaborate!) Suddenly though, my thoughts were beginning to be interrupted. What had simply been background music accompanying my ongoing thought explosions, slowly began to drown out my frantic thoughts. I realized I was being lulled into a calmness by the soft guitar strums and smooth voice that was saying, "Hear a song... and rest your soul now, cause music saves your life." And then I was drawn in, captivated by those words and the way they were floating on top of the music, so fluidly and so beautifully. My pulse began to race and heart began to feel as though it was being pulled. This is my typical reaction when I hear a song that "captures" me, and this is what I love about music. It invades. It distracts. It moves us, it connects us, it reaches us and sometimes speaks in a way that spoken language cannot.

Music saves your life... it may or may not be an exaggeration, but I identify with that statement so much so that it stopped me in my tracks. It was exactly what I needed to hear at that exact moment. It penetrated that hopeless spiral of worries, concerns and fears that may have otherwise completely overshadowed a wonderful and special evening spent with the person whom I needed and wanted to devote my full attention to.

On another note, Stella and I got back from Nashville at the beginning of last week. It was a great week, and really busy. We finished all the lead vocals and BGV's and were even able to work in some cello on a few of the songs on one of the days. We are so close to being finished, but I will still have to make one last trip down to do final tweaks before the songs can go to mix. Little by little we're getting there. The songs have really taken shape and I have felt so fulfilled getting to work on this album. I think that's why I was struck so much by the song the other night and had to write about it. Thanks for reading and indulging me!
