Talk show host and activist, Montell Williams had a little run-in with local news reporters while in Savannah, Ga. to speak at a benefit.  First having fallen out with a interviewer earlier because he didn't like their questions, and then later coming across a news crew setting up in the hallway for a totally unrelated spot, Mr. Williams flies into a tirade directed at one of the reporters.

He reportedly, got into the reporters face and pointed his finger while angrily proclaiming that, "Do you know who I am? I'm a big star.  I can look you up, find where you live, and have you blown up!"

Wow.

Mr. Williams, who was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and has prescription from his doctors to use marijuana for "medical purposes", says that he had mistakenly thought the news crew were there to confront him on the earlier incident.  He apologized.

I guess it just goes to show.  Medical or recreational...too much marijuana (gonja) will make your ass paranoid and schizoprenic.

BET's "Read A Book" Is Satirical Not Racist

Monday, August 27. 2007
One of the sad legacies of the civil-rights movement is that anyone who makes a critical comment about bad dimensions of black life in America is automatically branded a racist. This is silly. The New York Times reports today on the uproar regarding a recent BET satirical cartoon called "Read A Book" which is circulation in YouTube.com. Some are claiming that the video is racist.

The following is an excerpt from "mixedmediawatch.com" :

First-time filmmaker Tim Alexander, who enjoys being provocative, says there's a disease out there that he calls the "angry black woman syndrome." He says it must be identified, diagnosed and treated.

Alexander believes African-American women who grew up in fatherless homes, hearing their aunts and grandmothers saying black men are no good — and hearing that opinion reinforced in the media — are now angry adult women.

"They grow up, deal with the wrong men, finally meet the right guy and don't know how to turn it off," Alexander says. "They are so used to fighting; it's the only way they know to have a relationship. So when a man is a good man, they think he's a punk."
