Not sure, but i guess any band has their moment when they are called to guest in some film or something.
This was our turn and we were called by this big production from Cinecittà, Rome.
The cast is said to be pretty big probably also Valeria Golino is playing a role in that one which sounds pretty amazing and will put ourselves in a closer separational degree to the likes of Paul Newman, Tom Cruise but most importantly CHARLIE SHEEN! YES!



We all very curious about this new thing, i mean shooting a real film.
So off we go.



This Tuesday (22nd may) we drove to Viterbo to the Production hotel where we got our rooms, dinner and after that we headed to the nightly thermal pools. we found out that the first spot was in complete darkness and not so safe, so we headed to a 2nd place where they said it was "nicer and cleaner" place then just 3 holes on the floor in the middle of nothing...
As we arrived we discovered with much surprise that they were actually shooting our film 3 meters from the pool and we couldn't go and bath because the whole area was restricted.



Only thing we could do is touch the thermal water stream and discover that it was at 50 or more degrees... flippin sweet.
We kinda made it to see part of the scene, but then we were tired and we headed back to the hotel with a stop in the center of Viterbo, where everybody looked at us like if we were coming STRAIGHT from the fucking moon. Italo townies always have weird reactions seeing tight pants and proper shoes different than sneakers, it's stronger than them they stare at you as if you were eye-fucking them.

At 9.30 in the morning i was woke up by the telephone, it was the person in charge of taking care of us and said that we were supposed to be downstairs to go and do the load in at the film location.

I woke everybody up and we met in the lobby where this production guy called Diego, Sandor (our management rep) and other 2 cameramen were witing for us.



After much talking we realized that it wasn't going to be a live thing but all playback, which was good because we didn't have any floor tom, kickdrum, hi hat cymbals.
We drove to the location and we discovered that it is a very ancient villa with an amazing view on the valley.




After putting everything on stage we were called back at the hotel for style and make up, where fortunately they realized that we were good in our own clothes and that after all we didn't need much makeup anyway.
The only thing is that as they saw Sergio they decided to dress him in the most glamorous way, it was a little like if they understood how Sergio really is in like.. 3 seconds.
We met the director that was well nice and open minded, i was really impressed we've been talking for 30 minutes and then we went back to the villa it was 3pm, from that moment it was all about waiting and waiting and waiting.. and shooting and waiting.
The main characters came in and they were pretty nice, all the crowd in the party was really friendly and so we've been talking a lot with them before and after any shoot.

Peaks of the day:
- fish talking: they asked to us and the crowd to dance and play but without making noise. like.. they didn't want us even to do noise with the shoes or with guitar strings, like complete silence. they call it fish talking, like if you talk and have fun but without making noises. it was kinda weird to see how all the crowd was used to it.
weird and funny.
- any guy in this film was into SOUNDGARDEN a lot. coincidence before leaving my pad i burned Superunknown because i kinda needed to listen to it again.

The shootings finished at almost 2am we wanted to party a little but everybody got their ride home and we got our ride back to the hotel, too tired to do anything else.
Sergio as usual was the star of the show and at a certain point i went to the hotel desk beggint he consierge for some food.
he took me seriously and we all went at the restaurant where he got us TONS of good food making us the happiest people in the world and saving me a sleepless night.

The day after we said hello and we went food shopping before heading back home.

The lesson is that acting is harder than playing in a band, they wait much longer than us before having their adreanline rush...(which is at the premiere, after months of hard work) when we have it every night while walking up the stage.

On 23-24th may Hot Gossip will be shot on an italian film called "Gli ultimi della classe" directed by Luca Biglione.
It's a comedy with Sara Tommasi and Elettra Giulia Goretti (already starring in "Ti Amo In Tutte Le Lingue Del Mondo", another pretty famous italian film).
The band will be acting and playing on the first part of the film as theirselves.

The London gigs were pretty fucking sweet you all, thanks to everybody that helped out for making this happen, that supported, that gave us equipment , Ghost Records, Emma, Gypsy, Antonio, Christohper, Daisy, the Runners, Damn Shames, Federica, Nico, Dave et all: thank you! we really felt like being at home, we'll come back soon.

Today has been a wonderful day, no tech probs, we played all the songs straight with few mistakes.
i just have a triple dental decay that hurts like no tomorrow and yeah, this morning right before approachig the studio i fainted in a bakery shop, apprently i was too weak from yesterday night.
(where my flatmate and me hit a bar for a friend's brithday turned wild by a whole danish female waterball team that arrived at the bar, they were all drunk as hell started dancing at us and my flatmate got so drunk he started kissing them all).
