A sexy Delray Beach business transforms the locals

With a white picket fence and perfectly manicured lawn, you would never guess the '20s cottage in Delray Beach was transforming the girl next door into a sultry pin-up.

The House of Vintage in Delray Beach isn't for your average glamour shots: Models get the whole package. Professionals doll you up, tease and twirl your hair, and dress you in vintage clothing. Anything from swim suits to corsets and thigh-highs.

For anyone willing to strike a pose, the House of Vintage in Delray Beach offers local girls the opportunity to channel their inner "Bettie" or "Marilyn" in either retro-style or high fashion photo shoots.

The sessions are a little bit pricey, anywhere from $450 to $750, but the experience is priceless. Along with the shoot, models can expect to receive an 8x10 glossy or matted souvenir, a CD with 10 retouched, low-resolution images, and the opportunity to order additional prints - can you think of a better way to update your Facebook photo?

A team of professionals will help you unleash your inner pin-up girl with the aid of bobby pins, hair spray and crimson lipstick. The glamorous photo shoots are shot on location from the beach to a vintage hotel, depending on the theme you choose, and include hair, makeup and wardrobe.

You don't have to be a supermodel to take a fierce photo. The House of Vintage also offers how-to classes. From Burlesque to Pin-up 101, girls can learn to apply makeup to pouting lips for the perfect close-up.

The House of Vintage does not just offer pictures and pin-ups. The cottage also offers colorful themed rooms. You can try on classic lingerie in the pink powder room, shop in the walk-in closet filled with designer clothes and vintage accessories available to purchase, and best of all, a kitchen filled with sweets. The vintage fashions range from the 1920s to 1970s, but also feature name brands like Chanel and Prada. It is like a boutique-style thrift store with a twist.


Photo sessions range from $450-$750 depending on location, wardrobe, and theme.

Get some sweets

After a fun-filled day of shooting photos or shopping in the boutique, you can head to the House of Sweets located in the brightly painted kitchen where baker Amanda Watkins creates delicious cupcakes and cookies.

"Our most popular cupcake right now is our Red Velvet," says Watkins.
It's a red velvet cake topped with cream cheese butter-cream frosting. The cupcakes come in an array of delicious flavors, including:

Caramel apple - an apple and cinnamon cupcake drizzled with caramel frosting

Lemon drop - a classic vanilla cupcake with a hint of lemon

Aside from cupcakes, the House of Sweets also offers cookies and brownies decorated with sprinkles and colorful frosting. Prices range from $1.75 to $3.00 each, with flavor selections changing daily.
