THIS BLOG WAS TAKEN FROM ISRAEL HOUGTON'S MYSPACE PAGE:
"I have no rhymes like "open Heaven" in 07, and such. But I can tell you I have never felt more Kingdom anticipation into a new year in all my life. i'm excited about the season of the "RE" as I've been calling it. refocus, revolution, reformation etc....... I shared with NewBreed last night at our Christmas party that when I heard Bishop Tudor Bismarks wife Chi Chi share on Sat. night she said God is going to do great things this 'year' It sounded like she said this "HERE" and just before I could start chuckling at the accent, God spoke and said" PAY ATTENTION" We look at a year the same way we look at a full bank account, we have plenty of it to spend. We look at the currency of a year as having plenty of time. But the NEW HERE represents taking seriously EVERY day. Today has to be intentional. Intentional. Say it..... It's time to change the world man. (Peter Wilson just said that to me) Peter is the worship leader at Hillsong London. we're here in Atlanta at the Passion Conference at the Philips arena. Tonight was BANNNNNANNNNAZZZZZ!!!!!!! Louie Giglio leads a movement of college students who actually believe they can and are supposed to change the world. His initiative called DO SOMETHING NOW is revolutionary, I'm impressed. Chris Tomlin who has become my dear friend over the last several months invited me to sing with him tonight. Just incredible. Wait .... I feel like I'm kinda name dropping. sorry about that, it's not generally my style. I plan on making every day matter and count. the words I say; conversely, what I don't say. What I do and don't do. NewBreed is getting ready to embark on the most radical time of 40 day consecration leading up to March 1st and our new live recording. Sacrifice is not giving something up , but REPLACING something old and ineffective with something fresh and vibrant. It's a new HERE a fresh 24. Seize it. Who's goin' with me?
I appreciate all y'all. I hope to stay in touch as often as possible.

hey guys!
I know its been a while since my last blog. I guess i'm not a good "blogger". Just wanted to give you all the heads up on our new album.....why
So we've in the studio for almost a whole year now doing this record and the experience has been AMAZING. We're almost done with it, actually finishing up the last run of background vocals and BOOM! ;-) Our debut cd will be titled "VOL.1". why? well, 2 simple reasons, 1st- most of the songs are "spanglish", in other words in english and spanish. The main reason for this is so we're able to reach as many people as possible with the message that God has given us. 2nd- This is the first "phase" or "season" of this band, musically and spiritually, and we will not make another record like this, in other words, no more "para cristo's" or no more "Todo lo que quiero's". We believe in fresh material, fresh ideas and NEW SONG. one of my favorite psalms is psalm 96-
"1.Sing to the Lord a new song;Sing to the Lord, ALL the earth 2.Sing to the Lord, praise His name, proclaim his salvation day after day 3.declare His glory AMONG THE NATIONS"
What I'm trying to say is our next record might be a live hip-hop album, a rock album or a live acoustic set. "VOL.1" is now, and represent how what we were feeling, what we were thinking at that time of our lives. Why? this is how I see it, we're not here to "play" music, or to "show off" our talents, thats actually the last thing on our minds. We are here to let the world know, through our music, that we have an amazing, almighty, powerful, creator and savior who loves us, who died for us, who has created ALL MUSIC and he has no limits, no boundaries, and just simply wants to love us and be our friend.
OK, didnt mean for this to turn into a preaching! ;-) I just felt the need to share with you guys why we do what we do. We're just really happy and thankful for all of you who have prayed for us and have supported us from day one.
The record will be out by the end of 2006/january 2007. Peace!!!

Sonrize Ministries interview with Sandoval Band member, Jean Sandoval.
Q: How did you get started as a band A: Well, it was pretty easy. where are are from, CT, there are always activities going on, so worship teams were always put together with different musicians from the area for these services(youth, concerts, etc) so it's kinda like a community. Sandoval Band started with me kinda like saying "hey, I've been writing these tunes for a while and want you guys to help me out". so Josh Avila who's the singer/bass player came along, then Jesus Alicea on drums, Luis Rivera on percussion and me, Jean Sandoval on guitar formed Sandoval Band. Then it got a lot more serious, with more focus and a set vision. We all love the Lord, we all love funk/jazz/rock music and we all know what our jobs/calling as musicians is, which is to spread God's message and save souls for His Kingdom.
Q: Who were your greatest influences? A: great question. God is always first, simply because He is the creator of all music ever heard. King David for not just being a monster musician, but a awesome man of God. Israel & New Breed is definetely a huge role model for the whole band, not just for his music, but his heart for worshipping. Man...there are so many! Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Grant Green, George Benson, Maroon 5, Aretha Franklin, Tito Puente, Paquito D'Rivera, Dave Weckl...ok, I gotta stop, i can go on forever. These musicians were important because we studied them in school and analyed their works. So I guess in a way, we sound like them.
Q: What is the passion behind your music? A: God. but I think that's obvious;-) we just love playing...its seriously all we pretty much do(besides working full time/part time jobs to pay the bills;-)) I think it was once we realized what our jobs as musicians/ministers was that we loved it even more. Before I was saved, I played in bars, clubs, etc. and dont get me wrong, I loved playing but at the end of the night I was like, "is this it?" and woke up the next day feeling like I didnt accomplish anything and had no direction. Now, i'm in a constant high, Jesus High that is! it is not just a talent/gift but a mission, to conquer lives but never forgetting to worship our creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Q: What would you like people to get from listening to your music? A: Hope & Love. to make people understand that God is SO mighty, SO DIVERSE, that HE LOVES us for who we are, and not for what we look like or what we wear. we try to establish that also by what we play, which is why we mix jazz with rock with pop with gospel with latin and whatever may be listening to at the time, so we can reach as many people as possible, no matter what race, or background or musical taste. it also important for people to know that we are trying to do this, but this is really who we are and what we do. we really do listen to Michael W Smith then crank up Alicia Keys! the Christian Stereotype has got to stop! ok, I think I have to stop ;-)
Q: What is your favorite song that you've written and why? A: I love your questions. i would have to say "today". musically, "today" is a combination of Hip Hop, Jazz and Funk. Lyrically it talks about how we are always going through tests and tribulations, we're always having some kind of a problem but we should quickly rely on prayer, rely on our Lord, Jesus Christ for back up. Psalm 27 says "The Lord is my Light and Salvation, who, shall i fear?" it is not too late to just say God, I know I messed up, please back me up! the chorus of the song simply says "It's ok, just go ahead and say, today will be a brand new day" in other words, whatever happens, you fall, GET UP....we are not perfect but God will lift us up from the ground. We have a God not just a second chance but of a 10th, 20th, 40th, infinite chances. today will be a brand new day.
Q: What 1 thing would you like to say to the youth of this generation? A: hey,It's ok, today its a brand new day.
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you're not performing? A: hanging out. mostly likely eating while we're hanging out. lots of concerts ;)
