The holidays don't affect our schedule for the remaining two Nocturne events of the year (Wednesday Dec. 23 and Wednesday Dec. 30).  Same bat time, same bat channel:  9pm-2am, $7 cover, free parking in our enclosed lot, 3 DJs on 3 dancefloors. All ages are welcome; 21+ w/ID for alcohol.  Shampoo Nightclub, 7th & Willow, Philadelphia.

Of course, you could just spend tonight inside again - but didn't you get enough of that over the snow-filled weekend?  Join us tonight and dance it off.

Hey folks,

A few important Nocturne schedule notes:

1) TONIGHT  (the night before Thanksgiving) is always our busiest Nocturne of the year. This is the Nocturne that -everyone- comes out for, so it's a great time to catch up to people you haven't seen in a long time. Our rent goes up for the evening so it's slightly more expensive ($10 cover) but well worth it. This night only comes once a year, so don't miss it!

2) Winter holidays do not affect our schedule this year - we will be open on December 23rd and 30th as normal.

3) Since a number of people have asked, New Year's Eve does not fall on a Wednesday this year, so we don't have anything planned for that night.

We're excited about rounding out our 13th year and we're already looking forward to starting our fourteenth year of Nocturne in a few months.

Our free parking lot is open tonight as always, but it does fill up quickly, so arrive on the earlier side of things to be sure you get a spot.

See you tonight!

Some news from Digital Ferret:

Take a late lunch, skip a class, call out sick, invent a time machine - do whatever you need to do so that you don't miss this very rare opportunity to meet Skinny Puppy in person! Ogre and cEVIN Key will be at Digital Ferret CDs (732 S. 4th St.) this Thursday, November 19th, to meet fans and sign autographs.  We're expecting them to arrive at 2:30pm and they'll have to head back shortly after that for their sound check, so don't be late.  You can also watch the band's amazing live show at The Trocadero on 10th & Arch.  Tickets for the concert are $25 in advance, $27 day of show, and doors open at 7pm at the Troc.  The 2:30pm meet-and-greet at Digital Ferret is a free event.

MEET SKINNY PUPPY:  2:30pm-3:00pm at Digital Ferret, 732 S. 4th St.
WATCH THEIR CONCERT: 7:00pm doors at The Trocadero, 10th & Arch St.

Hey folks,

Three important calendar notes for Nocturne in the weeks ahead:

1) November 25th, the night before Thanksgiving, is always our busiest Nocturne of the year.

We'll see you on Wednesday night.

Thanks to all of you who attended our special VIP Night event last night.  It was even bigger and better than our first VIP Night in 2008, so this is most definitely going to be an annual tradition.  We really appreciate your support and the wonderful energy you bring to Nocturne.  We hope the many friends you brought with you last night had a good time, and we look forward to seeing them - and you - every Wednesday at Nocturne.

Just a reminder that this upcoming Wednesday, September 30th, is the time to make use of those special VIP passes we've been distributing for the past month at Nocturne. Each pass is good for one free admission. If you don't have a pass, the regular $7 cover charge applies (but ask around - surely one of your friends has an extra pass).

In addition to our Nocturne resident DJs (Knobhead on the main floor, Kathy Fadigan in the Groove Garden and Jon Gill in the Velvet Underground) we'll have special guest DJs in the White Room (Mighty Mike Saga, Blackwidow & Cephalotaxus).

Doors open at 9pm, the party ends at 2am, and all ages are welcome. You must be 21+ with ID to drink (there are drink specials from 9pm-11pm). Parking is free in our enclosed on-site lot, but it will fill up, so don't be late.

Nocturne takes place every Wednesday night at Shampoo Nightclub, 7th & Willow Streets, Philadelphia.

We'll see you (and your crew) on the 30th.

Current mood:  pleased
Category: Parties and Nightlife
Last year we thought it would be fun to show our appreciation for your many years of support by inviting you and some of your best friends to attend Nocturne free as our guests.  Our VIP Night party was insanely fun and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many new people.  Of course, we have to do it again this year.  Our second annual VIP Night will take place on September 30th, 2009 at Nocturne (we had originally scheduled this for September 23rd, so correct your calendars accordingly).

We like to say that our regular customers are our best advertising: you have fun, you tell people about it, you even bring them out to experience Nocturne for the first time.  Since that's worked so well, we thought this would be a great way to thank you for doing so, as well as a great way to encourage you to keep up the good work.  So, here's the deal:

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 will be VIP Night at Nocturne. Anyone with a VIP pass will be admitted for free.  For those without a VIP pass, the regular $7 cover charge will apply. So who are the Very Important People?  You.  In fact, you are so important, we'll even accommodate your whole entourage.  Seriously.

On September 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd (four weeks in a row), when you attend Nocturne, we will give you two VIP passes to attend the VIP Night on September 30th.  That's one for you, and one for a friend.  Clever readers will be thinking, "Ah, if I attend on all four of those weeks, I can accumulate eight passes." Exactly as we intended.  If you're supporting us enough that you're at Nocturne four weeks in a row, we're happy to have you and seven of your friends as our guests on VIP night.

If you've ever wanted to roll into a club with your whole crew and get in for free, this is your chance.  This is also the perfect economic stimulus package for any of your friends that might be low on cash flow but in serious need of a good time.  And don't forget that hottie you've been noticing around town (you know, the one you have those great but short conversations with).  After all, everyone loves free passes, and you'll have a few extra to give out to deserving people.  If there's someone you've always wanted to hang out with in a more relaxed setting, here's your chance.

As always, all ages are welcome at Nocturne.  If you're over 21, rest assured that the usual 9pm-11pm $3 drink special will still be in place on VIP Night.  Parking in our large fenced-in lot will be free as usual.  Nocturne takes place every Wednesday night at Shampoo Nightclub, 7th & Willow, Philadelphia, from 9pm-2am.

If you can't make it out to VIP Night, do remember that as our guests, you're all very important, including the other fifty-one Wednesday nights of the year.  This is just our way of showing it.  We hope you and your friends have a great night with us.
