I'm finally able to make my rounds again.  See everyone soon and can't wait.

Thank you to all of you that stopped by this weeks Therapeutic Thursdays blog already and to those of you who do.  It is a touch subject and one of the most difficult things I've ever written of.

Touch Unspoken

Knight of dreams, now just in such
Daylight kills the real of touch
Body naked, even clothed
Skin uncovered, left for froze
Starve for heart and can't possess
Hunger can't be quenched by rest
Hypnotized in stare of truth
Not administered as viewed
Promises seen just in sleep
To myself secret to keep
Baptized by a touch ached for
Cannot fight in forfeit war
Promise felt by hands, unspoken
Still at night, desire woken
For his touch, a life been waited
Since been felt, need never faded
Can't rid mind of what consumes
His scent within each thought looms
Close my eyes, he's there again
Until sun-up sad heart can mend
Rays then blind what can't be seen
Visions from a mind deceived

Legal Tender

A dollar is just change from a twenty

Used to buy alcohol and tobacco products
At the local convenience store
Lady Justice appears in every County Courthouse
She smiles at all the legals that pass her by
To remind them that they are worthy of viewing her scale

While Lady Liberty cries for the tired, poor and huddled masses
As they visit her for the second time

This boats load is lighter than the last
Excess baggage
Was the weight of hopes and dreams
That now stain the docks of New York’s Harbor

Tobacco and weed is circulated in a parking lot
Amongst high school students
Consuming the beer purchased for them
By a homeless man of age

He drinks his dollar earnings
And quietly watches the boats that pass him by

After all that my computer crashed - reading through all now and I don't even know what to do but laugh...only me...

So, if you weren't aware, I've been really sick the last few weeks.  I feel both guilty (for not being able to make my rounds) as well as overwhelmed (in trying to catch up).  I felt like an open mic would be a good start.

So please, share your work.  New, old...  That way I can read your words while attempting to "get around" again :)

A lot of people ask me how to get more involved in the online poet community.  This is also a good way to do that.

Newer writers, I hope you will feel comfortable participating and sharing your work in an open format since so many of you have told me that you are worried about posting your writing on your own blog.

Post your own and read and comment on the work of others. Network, meet new friends, and of course, share your poetry with me.

Thank you all for your love and support and I am so sorry that I haven't been able to return the favor as of late.

LOVE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH!

Audrey

For The Taste of You - Erotic

My lips shall never drink your nectar

Permission I need not within majestic dreams
Where taste buds are no virgin to your flavor

Intoxicated I become in the darkness of each night
As I sip the wine you cannot deny my fantasies

Lover, my lover
Will you let down your guard
So that I may claim deed to your tower
Climb to the top of its golden stairwell

Sir Lancelot
I am your enchantress
Thirsty for the juices of my knight

Will you come to me
My solo Master
I will feast upon your noble well
Swim within its glorious stream

Roman soldier
Gladiator
Remove your mask
I am your savior

Sacred is the land that awaits your rule
I am your kingdom to command
Roam the fields of your private Island
Find paradise within the warmth of its canal

Banned from the taste I hunger for
Thirsty lips remain arid
Forced they are to abstain

Sleep offers a taste of simple fiction

I drink from your glass every night

Pills

Alone and laid to rest is just a saying
As rest is never quite achieved
And loneliness is impossible when doubts chatter constantly

She wonders if she took her pills today
Then remembers  that in her encapsulated state
Medication is no longer prescribed
And pharmacies aren’t open this far underground

The Doctors wished her well or so she thought
As she waved goodbye and walked out of their offices
Holding signed papers that promised mental stability
While delivering only a sense of such an achievement

The final straw was sucked too dry
To chase the gifts the papers offered

The bottles laid empty upon the floor
Next to a body that only seemed to have stopped breathing

They found her too many days later
Photos, ids and boxes of memories surrounded
Yet it seemed no one could identify her remains

She lays buried amongst soldiers killed in battle
Underneath a tombstone that simply says “unknown”

And wonders if she took her pills yet today

She Remains

She remains
Lingers within the air that surrounds
Bodies left hungry for each breath
In which she is consumed

She remains in endless corners
Of remorseful hearts
Left frozen in the memory
Of her once heated stare

Her words echo through pale minds
That denied the colors of their truth

She remains
In intangible places
As scars upon stubborn souls

The only beauty they had ever known

An aroma once filled the rooms
In which they need now dream to inhale

She remains in only memories
She cannot sleep to avoid

Love not in vain
She does remain
In memories
Even if they are hers alone

Only in Deep Sleep Can This Be

Though white the wall is painted red
Pale by truth, coat viewed instead

Guilty by association
Presumed harms ‘cause violation

Damned she is just for existing
And from their hate there’s no resisting

Can’t help but hear each of their doubts
And too many doubts loiter about

Within her dreams survives the answer
A secret treatment for their cancer

Healthy ‘Till sight’s found again
Within the rays each morning tans

Forced back inside the space that’s she
A space that’s saturated with disease

She screams out loud but isn’t heard
As no one else can grasp her words

Fighting each day to be released
Unshackled from the chain she be

Counts endless sheep but just finds rest
So In sleeping pills she shall invest

To pass out and find inner bliss
In bliss everything’s happiness

Innocent 'till proven guilty
Only in deep sleep can this be

Store Bought and Cracked

Soft and like porcelain
Her layer of skin
That somehow stays shiny
In the store bought carton

The others have  changed
Now that their fully  grown
Hard boiled and  cracked
Since life’s sorrows  were known

The farmer done left  them
Hollow, just their  shells
No substance exists
In the box that she  dwells

There are no other  heart beats
Just her brain can  think
For their cores have  been eaten
And their souls stain  the sink

Still she sings to  the choir
From her assigned  dimple
Her truth seen as  strange
And her goodness as  simple

Cannot roll and be  cracked
Or she'd fall to the  floor
To escape the cruel  label
Stamped on by the  store

They laugh as they  point
Towards her  pre-assigned spot
Her skin will not  wrinkle
And her soul will not  rot

It isn't her choice
To remain  self-contained
If she could she  would dirty
But her beauty  maintains

Shame filled is her  casing
Since she stopped  fitting in
They're ruptured; she's  whole
And Vanity is a sin
