The full depth of the first ever US national beatbox championship has been disclosed! With a brand new battle format designed to test, nurture and bring out the best in all the competitors, this looks to be the new definition in beatbox battles.

The 2010 UK Beatbox Championships are coming. Today we're announcing the registration for the South East heat, taking place on Feb 25th 2010, in London. More details here.

Entrance tickets to the event will go on sale in two days time on Wed. 23rd Sept, 2009. Check the UK Champs website for sales link on the day.

We're currently setting up 3 more regional heats to find our grand finalists - North, Midlands, and South West. We'll send out news once these are ready to go!

Reeps One takes the 2009 title!

After a hard series of battles in an unfamiliar club, with an unfamiliar crowd, our competitors battled their way through a very unconventional heat!

The crowd was much different from the usual. Very glam, as per the Lovedough ethos. As such the format was altered so as to work best with the crowd, and the fact we only had 6 competitors show up.

We did the first round as normal, 1 x 1min battle. We then gave best of the first round runners-up a wildcard through to the next round so the semi-final had four competitors as per normal.

Picking the names from a hat, this brought up a first for the UK Champs, namely Equ vs D-wayne in both the first round, and semi-final. A grueling battle! So, when all was said and done, Equ and Boris FX faced off in the final. Equ brought the fire in the first battle, and Boris responded in the second. However, Equ's technical ability won us and the crowd over and he took first place.

Congrats Equ, and we'll see both him and Borix FX in the Grand Final in London on June 20th.

Flash Jams:

The Flash Jam timings and route has also been announced.  On the same page linked above you'll find a link to download a flash jam info pack.  This pack has information on the structure, timings and routes from one jam spot to the next.  This is a world first, and we're hoping to get lots of footage to document it!

Friday Night - Battlejam - Free entry!:

It's a real shame that we didn't have anything for the convention goers on Friday night.  Well, we didn't.  But now we do!  Beardyman's infamous Battlejam is taking place at Cargo on Friday 10th April.  This is free to attend!!!  We're officially telling all 18+ convention goers to head for this fantastic night.  More info here.
