The nightclub is packed, the lights and lasers are flowing, and the anticipation of the crowd is at a boisterous level. The transmission of the opening track blasts through the speakers in the club and out over the airwaves. What follows is a unique storytelling through the eyes and ears of Markus Schulz.

Over the past number of years, Markus has become one of the most popular and in-demand names across the DJ tour circuit. He has touched the hearts of many, with his unique blend of bassline-driven trance reaching fans across all five continents.

Despite differing languages and cultures, his music and passion has united the world. In an attempt to describe his affection for the fans, and the cities which he is proud to play, he has created a new dimension to his performances, unifying the live experience with radio.

Welcome to the concept of the Markus Schulz World Tour.

Markus' ethos of the World Tour is simple - to provide a platform for clubbers to showcase a united voice, emanating from the best clubs, arenas and festivals, to a worldwide listening audience each month.

Every World Tour recording is eagerly anticipated by the chosen city's conglomerate of fans, wishing to claim the accolade of being the loudest and most passionate audience. Consequently, these gigs are among the most discussed around the world, not just by the clubbers who attend the events in person, but also by the listeners through online and radio mediums.

With this CD compilation, Markus presents you his personal highlights of the World Tour in 2009 - the biggest tunes that have touched audiences from Hong Kong to Ibiza to Miami and beyond, and given us memories that will remain for a lifetime. The club culture from all over the world is captured, with each track representing one of the featured World Tour cities, accompanied by the enthusiasm of the audience.

You can now welcome the ambiance and excitement of the World Tour to your stereo, and look forward to the possibility of the series touching down in your city in 2010.

Michael Calderone & Christopher Reddick - Sound Of Flight

LA residents
Michael Calderone and Christopher Reddick took care of quite a highlight on Markus Schulz' 'Toronto '09' album. Not often does one catch the pure Coldharbour sound, but these guys did. With 'Sound of Flight', Calderone and Reddick come up with an anthem of its own merit, yet more than fit for the Coldharbour label. 'Sound of Flight' takes off with a deep-digging bassline, getting the track in shape for a melodic invasion later. Smooth guitar, solid sweeps of progressive and a big dose of feel-good, that's what make this one stand out.

'Sound of Flight' gets a big room upgrade by fellow Americans
Grube & Hovsepian, smoothing the track to an outstanding remix.

Do You Dream (Original Mix)
Do You Dream (Uplifting Mix)

Following on from the incredible success of Transmission theme “The New World” was never going to be an easy task for Markus Schulz. Risen expectations, along with the desire to have a signature big room moment in his festival sets for the summer, prompted Markus to spend some time in the studio, to increment work on a project originally conceived in the city of Shanghai.

Inspired by his tours to Australia, Asia and Europe, Markus presents the next chapter of his remarkable story, entitled “Do You Dream”.

The original contains everything you would expect in a Markus Schulz production – a deep, moody bassline, weaved in between beautiful melodies and an energetic riff. After debuting the track to the Global DJ Broadcast audience through the World Tour recording from Prague, speculation and excitement mounted that this indeed was the followup to The New World. And they were right.

As June turned to July, Markus spent more time in the studio working on a second version of the track, in a more uplifting style geared towards his big appearances at Dance Valley, SouthWestFour and as Global Gathering festival resident. Recently debuted on Global DJ Broadcast, fans unanimously reacted positively to the Uplifting Mix, voting it as Global Selection winner in its first attempt. The Uplifting Mix has also been heard on Ibiza dancefloors, recently being played by Armin van Buuren during his residency at Amnesia, along with radio support on A State Of Trance and Trance Around The World.

Do You Dream marks a significant milestone for Coldharbour Recordings, finding itself as the 75th release on the label.

Arnej - Tomorrow Never Comes / There Are No Coincidences

Release Label: Coldharbour Recordings
Release Code: CLHR077
Release Date:
August 24th 2009

Tomorrow Never Comes (Original Mix)
Tomorrow Never Comes (Intro Mix)
There Are No Coincidences

2009 has been a year of tremendous progression for Toronto native Arney Secerkadic. Since making his bow on Coldharbour Recordings last year with monster smash They Always Come Back, he has been an almost permanent fixture in the playlists of Markus Schulz's live sets.

With two singles featuring on Markus' Toronto '09 compilation this year, Arnej follows up his release of Dust in the Wind with a double EP, primarily focusing on the second Toronto single, Tomorrow Never Comes.

The original of Tomorrow Never Comes has featured on Markus Schulz's Global DJ Broadcast and Armin van Buuren's A State Of Trance playlists as early as last October, and also received copious amounts of support by Judge Jules on his weekly Friday night show on BBC Radio 1. The track also picked up the Global Selection award on Global DJ Broadcast in August.

Tomorrow Never Comes is also available as a beautiful Intro version in trademark Arnej style, ideal for opening a summer themed set.

However, many followers will be drawn towards the release of one of the most popular tunes on the Amnesia dancefloor in Ibiza this summer.

There Are No Coincidences
featured on the World Tour broadcasts from Hong Kong and Prague, and may well do so again in the upcoming broadcast from Amnesia in Ibiza in early September.

With another Coldharbour release in the books, Arnej's momentum continues.

Tomorrow Never Comes and There Are No Coincidences are available to purchase exclusively on Beatport.

Dakota - "Roxy 84"

Release Label: Coldharbour Recordings Red
Release Code:
COLD017
Release Date:
August 24th 2009

One of the undoubted success stories of 2009 has been the resurrection of Markus Schulz's Dakota moniker. Following on from the launch of his album, Thoughts Become Things, and the release of the single Sin City, as part of his annual Coldharbour Day celebrations, he moves into August with the fourth scheduled release, and one with an interesting background story.

Whilst much of the Thoughts Become Things project has been inspired by his continuous worldwide travels over the past 6 years, Markus' thought process travelled even further back in time, and for one track in particular, he pays homage to his youth.

Having been born and brought up in Germany, Markus emigrated to Boston in the United States when he turned 13 years old. At the weekends, he would travel to New York's Bronx district, and became fascinated with the breakdancing movement that had become to prevalent in the city during that period. This interest intensified, as he himself was involved with the organisation of several breakdancing parties, many of which he was in control of the turntables. And subsequently, he discovered that becoming a DJ was his destined career path.

Roxy 84
is a reflection of those New York breakdancing grooves, with its very distinguishable melody and bassline an obvious tone throughout. In an era where many of dance music's barriers where broken and electronic music slowly became accepted, the track pays tribute in a creditable manner.

For remix duties, Markus has recruited a name who has made significant progress in the dance music world over the past 2 years, and who also had the honor of releasing the first single on the Coldharbour Red strand. Sweden's Marcus Schössow delivers a tough, twisted and dirty interpretation of the original, perfectly suited for the darker moments in a club set. The remix was a highlight of Markus' recent Global DJ Broadcast World Tour performance at SaSaZu in Prague.

To add a little retro flavor to the package, step up Finnish duo Matti Heininen & Erkka Lempiäinen, better known as Michael Cassette. Their remix is a stunning piece of deep-filled grooves, that is sure to receive plenty of attention by both trance and house followers throughout the summer months.

Roxy 84 will is now available on Coldharbour Recordings Red exclusively on Beatport.

Rex Mundi featuring Susana - Nothing at All

Release Label: Coldharbour Recordings
Release Code:
CLHR076
Release Date:
August 10th 2009

Nothing at All (Original Mix)
Nothing at All (Elevation Remix)
Nothing at All (Funabashi Uplifting Remix)
Nothing at All (Beat Service Juicy Remix)

With Coldharbour Day and the milestone of 75 releases on the main label in the books, Markus Schulz follows up his own production "Do You Dream" with a release he describes as "what will be one of the most important releases when looking back at the history of Coldharbour".

Dutchman Boy Hagemann's cult status within Coldharbour folklore had already been initiated with his track "Perspective", under his Rex Mundi alias. Combined with the vocals of Ronski Speed's "The Space We Are", "The Perspective Space" was one of the standout moments throughout 2007 and early 2008.

However, his biggest moment on the label has now arrived. And it has had people talking and anticipating throughout the entire year of 2009. That moment is entitled "Nothing at All"

Joining Rex for vocal duty on the project is Leiden's Susana, previously best known for their collaborations with Armin van Buuren on "Shivers" and "If You Should Go".

Since making its debut on Markus Schulz's Toronto '09 compilation, the plaudits have continually increased from March until today. The admiration was there for all to see, as it picked up the accolade of Global Selection on the Global DJ Broadcast for 4 successive weeks - a record.

In April, at Godskitchen in Birmingham for A State Of Trance's Episode 400 celebrations, Markus debuted a remix of the track from Estonia's
Beat Service. So impressed he was with the track "Nectar" from late 2008, the same groove and melodic combination was applied to Susana's vocals beautifully.

Rounding off the remix package are two of the most endearing names among fans throughout the entire Coldharbour Recordings roster. First up are German duo Funabashi, who offer an uplifting alternative perfect for those peaktime trance moments in a set.

And last but not least, the remix that looks set to take over the baton as one of the signature moments in Markus Schulz's live sets. After dominating playlists and charts with his production "Biscayne", Elevation takes the original and turns up the insensity a few notches with a driving bassline and energetic melodies, that have already engaged Global DJ Broadcast listeners and live audiences. Elevation's remix picked up a Global Selection in its first attempt in July, and followed that up with an appearance on the recent Global DJ Broadcast World Tour recording from Global Gathering in St. Petersburg.

The countdown for the release of Nothing at All has been a long one, but now that the big day has arrived, it most certainly is worth the wait.

Nothing at All is available to purchase exclusively on Beatport.

Release Label: Coldharbour Recordings
Release Code: CLHR060
Release Date: January 12th 2009

Vision (Big Emotion Mix)
Vision (Hard Emotion Mix)

Hot off the heels of his stunning remix effort on Hammer & Herbick feat. Boytronic - You, Italian Luca Antolini returns to Coldharbour Recordings under his Dyor alias with "Vision".

Vision comes in two mix formats - the Big Emotion Mix and Hard Emotion Mix. The Hard Emotion Mix was debuted by Markus Schulz on Global DJ Broadcast way back in May, and featured heavily in his livesets throughout all of the summer, including the World Tour recording from Mexico City. Ideal for the clubs, with a rip-roaring bassline guaranteed to work well on a dancefloor.

The Big Emotion Mix focuses more on melody, and produced more in the style of Dyor's familiar production "Emotions". This mix has bene played regaularly on Global DJ Broadcast throughout November.

Each mix offers its own variety and will appeal to many. It marks a solid beginning to Coldharbour Recordings in 2009.
