George Koserowski writes and contributes to BGRASS-L on Friday, July 17th about our show at GreyFox on Thursday, July 16th, 2009:
"I can sum up Thursday at Greyfox in four words....MOUNTAIN HEART IS
BACK!  .   So you thought MH was over when Steffey and Clay Jones left the
band....well guess again, they are back and better than ever!  Tonight they
rocked the house at Greyfox, having the crowd in the palm of their hands and
taking them on a musical journey.

I always suspected that Mountain Hearts performances were staged events in the past.  All that jumping around and faux comraderie .scripted.....maybe you did too....  haha...no longer....the band has taken their show to a new level and
they did it right here at Greyfox .  Oh they're still jumping about...but...its
no longer fake, they are making music and they are having fun!  Wow what a show!"

Thanks, George.

Today we're at the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival

A few comments about  the shows in Herndon, VA and Gettysburg, PA, last weekend:

I think we had a seismic event at 1090 Sterling Road, Herndon, Virginia
last night as the ground was really rocking for almost two hours ---- or
---- maybe it might have been the fact that MOUNTAIN HEART was performing
at the Weekend Bluegrass Concert Series. Yeah, that's right! MOUNTAIN
HEART was nothing short of stupendous in their performance last night.
On their way between gigs in Harrisonburg (Thursday) and Gettysburg
(Saturday) they stopped by Herndon and, in addition to the concert, they
had about 50 minutes of live radio time with Bob Webster on WAMU mid-day.
You have to see these guys in person to believe them and their music.
Absolutely amazing! I spent the whole day with them and was that ever a
fun experience. Energy is everywhere! Many thanks to Barry Abernathy,
Clay Jones, Jason Moore, Aaron Ramsey, Josh Shilling and Jim VanCleve for
a truly remarkable night of music and laughter. Thanks also to Eric
Willson for a magnificent job on the sound board and to our patrons for
all their support!

Mike Clayberg also says about the Herndon, Va show:

"Mountain Heart was astounding.  The musicianship and showmanship were
both first rate: exciting, dynamic, eclectic, and unique.  I'd seen them
before in Nashville at a large concert venue.  They are only more amazing
up close.  And the addition of piano at the end of the night?  Over the
top!"

Linda Lookadoo says about the Gettysburg show:

Just back from Gettysburg and Mountain Heart is BACK and on fire
STELLAR! It was a hot Saturday afternoon and there were very few empty
seats for their first set (few Acts can claim that), their evening set
was Packed. After a year off, Clay Jones is back with the Band.If you
get a chance to catch them on the trail this year...all I can say is
"Enjoy!"

Mike Waltermyer says about the Gettysburg show:

I witnessed it too! I loved both their sets. As Linda said, they played
to a packed, very enthusiastic audience!

OK folks, we've seen a lot of fan pics over the past few months.  You know, where you risk having your picture made with US at the shows! < G >

Now, if you'll give us permission, we'll try to start a Fan Pics photo album, so other fans can see YOUR shots with us.

If you want your pics included, just send us a private message when you have some posted and we'll include them.  Your attendance and support at the shows is what allows us to continue bringing the music!  How could we not include YOU?

Thanks again and get those messages started and we'll get the album cranked!

The guys are really excited to let you know about a couple of things that are coming up this week in your area!

Mountain Heart will be appearing on ETC Television, "North Georgia Now", tomorrow morning!!

They will be appearing live, in-studio, and will be interviewing and performing for nearly two full hours on the North Georgia Now show, hosted by Cherie Martin. They will also be discussing their big concert with guitar legend, Tony Rice, that is happening the following evening in Ellijay, GA. The TV show starts at 8:30 a.m.and runs again at 6:00 p.m.

Please tune in if you're in the area!!

MH and TONY RICE in Ellijay, GA!!!

Once again, the guys in Mountain Heart are redefining what acoustic music can be. For their next few shows, they've joined forces with the man who most consider to be the King of Acoustic Guitar, Tony Rice.

Though rooted in bluegrass, MH has become well-known far beyond the boundaries of the genre, as they have been branching out into other musical terrain and stretching the boundaries of bluegrass music since their inception, in 1999.

Also well versed in bluegrass, jazz-influenced acoustic music, and some of everything in between, Tony Rice is considered one of the great innovators of flat-picking guitar.

His recordings have stretched the boundaries of bluegrass and acoustic music now for decades!

There couldn't be a more exciting combo than MH and TONY RICE on stage together!!

The MH guys are ecstatic to share the stage with such a true living legend! Please come out and witness one of the most exciting events in Mountain Heart's history!

Also appearing as our special guests, will be area favorites, White Path. They will be performing an opening set which will begin at 8:00 p.m.
