In Finland, giving birth is considered to be safe, with only 1:8500 maternal deaths. In Niger however, the same number strikes at 1:7. In Afghanistan, the number is 1:6. For goodness' sake, giving birth should mean GIVING LIFE, not DEATH!

Our new album is almost done!
Mixing as we speak... and in stores in Finland on December 5th.
The working title "Pour Un Monde" has changed into VINTAGE ESPRESSO - in tune with our music. This as part of the transition of taking on VINTAGE ESPRESSO as our new band name. "Irina Bjorklund & Peter Fox" has served us well.. but tricky to remember for people not familiar with us!

Hi!
We previously announced that our new album with the working title POUR UN MONDE would be released in Finland on November 21st.
The release has now been moved forward with exactly 2 weeks, making the release date wednesday December 5th instead. Starting on that date, the album will be available in stores in Finland - distributor is Töölön Musiikkitukku, as with the previous album OH L'AMOUR.
All finnish gigs between Nov. 23rd and Dec. 5th will be locked down and announced this week - hope to see all finnish friends there - tervetuloa!!!
Band members in Finland will include Janne Haavisto (drums), Mikko Mäkelä (bass) and Veera Railio (vocals, violin).

Hey there,
happy news: we have just finished writing all the songs for our new album, and are currently in the studio recording. The follow-up album to "Oh l'Amour" (still available for download allover the internet and hard copies at http://www.cdbaby.com/bjorklund OR in stores in Finland) will be called POUR UN MONDE (For A World), and will be released in Finland on November 21. 2007 by Töölön Musiikkitukku.
The new album will follow the athmosphere of the first one, but be more dancable -
boleros, rumbas, swings, waltzes, jazz, calypsos, reggae..
Dancing for a better world!

Oh we are SO lucky!
Last weekend we got to be the entertainment of the evening at this year's 49th Southern California Journalism Awards at the beautiful Millennium Biltmore Hotel downtown LA!
A big thank you to Diana Ljungaeus, who got us the gig... And to the journalists who risk their lives to give us info about what's going on in this world. My personal highlight of the evening was looking Daniel Pearl's father Judea Pearl in the eye while we were playing.
Made me remember once again, why we do what we do...

Peter Fox and I will be playing a mini set (3 or 4 songs, no band) along with a bunch of other artists that night, and the others will go on on dec 15th, aswell.
