Paolo Dellapiana (my bandmate in Larsen) and I have just done the soundtrack for "Amore: Tentativi di Guarigione. Capitolo 1", the new art video by Giulia Caira. I'm also featured in the video performing with Giulia.
The soundtrack is a 22 mins long piece for electronics and electric viola and it is now available in a limited edition of 50 rubber-stamped CDs you can order to www.deathtripper.com for 10€ each (+ pp)
The video (and the soundtrack) will be presented tomorrow, the 5th of December, as part of the Open Air Winter Lab event at Nietzsche Fabrik , in our hometown Torino.
Please go to www.nietzschefabrik.com for the full programme of the night.
Also on the bill is the Larsen featuring Little Annie live show! Our set will be based on our latest album "La Fever Lit" plus some new pieces, including 3 brand new songs we have just recorded with Annie that we are gonna perform live for the first time ever, and a couple of Little Annie's classics. This is not only gonna be our last gig this year- as well as the only 2009 italian show for us not having been Italy included in our "La Fever Lit" european spring tour- but also a preview of next Larsen studio album.
Hope to see u there!

Ciao a tutti!
Today Larsen had the first recording session for our next full length album, which is supposed to be released on fall 2010. It will be full of "songs" being now our friend Little Annie, Larsen's singer.
We will perform some of this new material, for the first time ever, next Saturday, the 5th of December @ Nietzsche Fabrik in Torino, Italy. This show will be part of a special open air winter event that, further than the Larsen(featuring Little Annie) gig, will feature "Amore: Tentativi Di Guarigione. Capitolo 1", a video installation by Giulia Caira, an exhibit of artworks by Bellissimo (designer of all of Larsen's album-covers so far) plus catwalks, dj sessions and hot drinks to keep you warm through the night.
At the Nietzsche Fabrik we will have copies of the Behind s.r.b vinyl version of the Larsen and Friends (Baby Dee, David Tibet, Johann Johannsson, Julia Kent) "Abeceda" album, that will be officially released later in the month, also available at the show will be a limited art edition on CD-r of the original soundtrack for electronics and electric viola that I've released with my Larsen bandmate Paolo Dellapiana for Giulia Caira's video. Both of these releases can now also be pre-ordered at our official on-line store
Please check out www.nietzschefabrik.com for full programme of Nietzsche Fabrik 5th Of December 2009 Open Air Winter Lab.

- As some of you already know since Ernesto Tomasini and I started to perform our "Canes Venatici" album live we presented ourselves as a (still without official name) band along with Paul Beauchamp and Trevor (aka Evor Ameisie). We have just played @ Post Romantic Empire Final Fest (and it went really well so we wanna tnk everyone involved exp Giulio Di Mauro for having killed his own empire with style and of course all of you that attended the show) and recorded a live in studio session for a revised version of our album; this new edition of "Canes Venatici" will also feature remixes by our friends Andrew Liles, Khan and Marco Milanesio. We don't know yet how and when this will be released but in the meantime "Canes Venatici" will be made available as digital download too.
- The PRE Final Fest has also seen the debut of the Paul Beauchamp/Andrew Liles/Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo beefy funky trio! We had great fun unleashing our loungy sci-fi metal souls on stage and we are now planning to spend our Xmas holiday recording an album together.
- Talking about Xmas, December will also be the month that will see the release of "No Sleep 'till Jotunheimen", an edited version of live recording of a show I did in 2004 with Benny Braaten (aka B9 of Origami Galaktika). With the only exception of one track that appeared on the “Don’t Get Annoyed, Get Inspired” compilation, this material has been unreleased so far 'till, at long last, we have decided to put our hands back on it: Benny re-edited it and Marco Milanesio mastered it and now it sounds pretty good to our hears. It will be released by new canadian label Massfree Recordings in a limited edition of 500 copies
- On the 10th of November I'll turn 41 yo and despite of this impending catastrophe, among other things, I'm keeping work, slowly but firmly, on the new ( r ) album "Drama Queen". It is slated for a June 2010 on Important Records and I'm very happy of how it is coming along!
more soon...

Hi there!
Few days ago Blind Cave Salamander (as Paul Beauchamp, Julia Kent and myself) played a show in Geneve, Switzerland, to launch our new album "Troglobite", just been released on Shayo. This show has been a double bill with one of my favourite band ever Cindytalk. I've been in touch with Gordon "Cinder" Sharp of Cindytalk for years, but this has been the first time we ever met and i've got to see them perform live. The show went really well and I wanna tnk Yann of Shayo and everyone @ L'usine for having set it up, but further than that I' ve to say that not only Cindytalk live set made me cry but that between Blind Cave Salamander and them has been love at first sight and for sure our paths will cross again and there will be collaborations -live/studio/spiritual...- between our bands. Cindytalk have been far from the scene for a pretty long time, but now they are back with a new instrumental album of very intense and abstract music/sounds that I strongly suggest you to buy; it is titled "The Crackle Of My Soul" and should be out on the first week of Nov.
Another album that just came out that I really love is the new Evangelista, Carla Bozulich's band, "Prince Of Truth" . Carla is also featured on my next solo ( r ) album "Drama Queen" (I'm aiming to a spring 2010 release): her vocal performance on my cover version of Marlene Dietrich's "See What The Boys In The Backroom Will Have" is really intense and soulful. I'm more than thrilled, happy and grateful for having her onboard!

My Blind Cave Salamander partner Paul Beauchamp has a new beautiful and haunting solo EP out.
Here is what Paul and the guys of Chew-Z, the label releasing the ep, have to say about it:
Paul Beauchamp – Sala B : Rupture [CWZ015].. Paul Beauchamp – Sala B : Rupture

"Sala B is a musical project inspired by a recent near-death experience I had consisting of several weeks in intensive care, two operations and thirty months of therapy. The doctors and physicians all considered my condition terminal and have said that is a miracle that I survived.
Sala B is divided into three segments published individually on EPs, each symbolizing the three majors aspects of the experience.
Rupture is the first of the three representing the events leading up to my arrival in the hospital emergency room "
All music written and composed by Paul Beauchamp Track 1,2,3 recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by Marco Milanesio at O.F.F. Studio – Torino Italy Track 4 mixed, recorded and mastered by Colin Potter
Track 1 : Internal Track 2 : Shivering Track 3 : Corridor Track 4 (CD only): Gullinkambi
Sala B : Rupture is available in free download but also in a digipack cd audio edition on sales trough our shop Limited edition CD version features Colin Potter remix of Paul Beauchamp's forthcoming full length album "Gullinkambi" .

My latest album as ( r ) "In Pink"came out 2 years ago, it took me a bit to find the time and energy to put myself back at work on a new solo album but, at long last, tomorrow ill be in the studio for the first recording session for the new ( r ) album !!! I'm still writing some new music for it and I really don't know how long it will take me to finish it but in any case i'm aiming at a 2010 release.
As far as i won't change my mind in the process, the album will be titled "Drama Queen" and it is ment to be a sort of tribute to divas as Marianne Faithfull, Nico, Nina Simone, Marlene Dietrich and some other (actually male) artists that are very iconic and inspiring to me. There will be some cover versions and/or quotes of their work, but my attempt is more to use myself as a media for their spirits to possess my music.
"In Pink" was a very autobiographic work related to a dark period of my life, or to better say to the end of a bad period and the beginning of a new - actually pretty fucking good and far more relaxed - phase, and now, with this new album I wanna avoid being self-referential; still it will be 100% me 'cause anyway, after almost 41 years of life (birthday is on the 10th of November, condolences and presents are welcome) and consequent wonderful white beard, I would have very serious problems in being someone else.
Of course the album will be recorded, mixed, mastered and co-produced by Marco Milanesio, here in Torino at O.F.F. and will see the very relevant collaboration of computer generated music genius and long time friend Daniele Pagliero, also known as LoDevAlm and for being Larsen's occasional bass player as well as one of the two heads behind the brilliant netlabel Chew-z among his other activities and physical features.
It is possible more musicians/guests will be involved in the project, but i like the idea of keeping it minimal. Also more than possible is that once finished the album will be a multimedia concept opera about the fascinating life of komodo dragons, with a different title, full orchestra, choir and interactive 3D visuals.
I'm really not crazy for summer but I hope you will enjoy it or at least survive it...I'll be working for you...yeah...

Hi there!
First we wanna tnk everyone at Nietzsche Fabrik ! The T0 event on the 23rd of July has been a great and successful night! Tnx to all of you that came see our audio/video cabin installation "Paesaggi Domestici"
SEPTEMBER is gonna be a very busy month for us salamanders!
Our new full length studio album "Troglobite" will be released by Shayo. Among the 7 tracks our version of Pink Floyd's "Set The Controls For the Heart Of The Sun", which has always been part of of our live sets on last years, plus contributions by Michael Begg (electronics) and Paul Wallfisch (upright piano) further than Julia Kent at cello (as well as arrangements and some backing vocals). "Troglobite" has been produced, recorded and mixed by Marco Milanesio @ O.F.F. studios in Torino, Italy. Marco also played some keyboards and wrote one of the track, all of the other sounds and melodies are of course by Paul Beauchamp (synth, keyboards, harmonica, saw) and Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (electric guitar, electric viola, vocals)
Also out in September, as limited edition cd on Radical Matters Editions Label, our collaborative/split album with sound artist Pietro Riparbelli aka K11: "The Nietzsche Fabrik Sessions / Transmission": in June 2008, Blind Cave Salamander was invited to take part in the Torino World Design Capital festival presenting a site specific performance to be staged on the roof of the Nietzsche Fabrik workshop and incorporating sounds from the local machines, smitheries and carpenters at work. The material on this record is the live recording of the in-studio rehearsal for this performance as then edited and reworked by Marco Milanesio. The same material has since been broadcasted and re-recorded in a unique instrumental transcommunication action, using FM and SW radio signals, by Pietro Riparbelli, inside the etruscan necropolis of the ancient Kysra, in this way taking the salamander back underground. This record displays a possible sound-path within its aural mutations.
On the 23rd of September @ MiTo Festival, Torino, Italy Blind Cave Salamander and Nurse With Wound will join their creative forces to stage for the first time ever a live version of NWW classic album "Soliloquy For Lilith". The line up for this show is: Colin Potter, Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo, Julia Kent, Paul Beauchamp and Steve Stapleton. The "Soliloquy For Lilith" show is part of a two days event titled "Il Canto del Vuoto Tagliente" that will also feature our friends Larsen and z'ev on the 23rd of Sep. as well as Current 93 and James Blackshaw on the 22nd of Sep. Tickets are €10 per night, as well as a reduced €15 ticket for both nights, and are now on sale at www.mitosettembremusica.it/en/biglietti/box-office.html
