Hi Kiddies!

Drop Zone usually takes a break over the holidays. Yeah we know, there's lots of money to be made, but Adam has a family in Florida and it's kinda tough to do a show with a satellite feed. So this Friday, come see us for the last time in 2009 at Harley's Place on the main drag in Waynesboro!

We have new tuneage, some pretty groovable stuff. We picked up a really neat version of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall"... it's cross-pollination of the Floyd original and the Korn cover, with a lot of Drop Zone thrown in. We're doing the Chili Peppers' cover of "Higher Ground"... that is guaranteed to get the women up on the floor! Besides that, we're doing our usual set, which we've been told is really good and a little different from what most everyone else plays.

If you're a MySpace friend in the area we probably sent you a "tune widget" with the new material. We normally get a dozen or so hits to that widget every day... after the invitations I sent this weekend, we got some 699 hits!!!  That, and the 25 or so RSVP's I've received tell me this will be ONE HOT SHOW.

Drop Zone promises to rock for you this Friday night... all we want is a bunch of people rocking right back.

Hasta Viernes! (if you don't know Spanish... CYA Friday!)

Drop Zone will be playing Rhythm on the River this Friday 8/14 RAIN OR SHINE. The show is free, and the brews are cheap. PONY UP!  We'll CYA there!

This one's really special....

Drop Zone got it's start three years ago with a different line up by playing a little 25-seat bar in our home town of Palmyra called the Dogwood Cafe. Adam had a different bassist and I wasn't yet the drummer. I was there, and I remember thinking that the guitarist was good, but they needed me in the rhythm section (I'm an arrogant bastard)....

Problem was, the bar was too small. Oh, they fit 60 people squeezed in like sardines in there, but it was too loud, and the patrons couldn't sit. The bar soon after ceased booking bands and Drop Zone (now with me as a member) looked elsewhere to get shows....

Fast-forward to May 2009. Drop Zone is now Adam, Frank and Drew and we've played all over Virginia. The Dogwood took over a karate academy in an adjacent suite and is now over three time its original size, with seating for 85 and a capacity of (I guess) 150!!!!

So we're coming full circle- back to where we started it all in 2005. This should be good!  The band is much better than back then, and much more popular. We think we're going to pack house again, and we hope you'll be one of the throng... it's gonna ROCK!!!!

CYA there~

Hi kiddies!

Tonight Drop Zone steamrolls into Fishersville for our March show at Mossy Creek Cafe, the doggonedest best little bar in all Central Virginia! Benny is chilling the beer now, and we'll roll the truck at 6:00... we should be there in plenty of time to drain his kegs!

We've got a couple of new songs- some Zeppelin and Skid Row and we're primed to play after two weeks off!  Last time (January) both Drew and Adam had colds and struggled to sing. No such problems tonight!  We've got two honkin' new subwoofers to lay down the thump and get people movin'. All we need now is for you (yes, I'm looking right at ya as I say this) to show up and rock!

CYA there!

This is a PSA from DROP ZONE:

DROP ZONE strongly denounces the consumption and abuse of alcoholic beverages for the purpose of achieving musical euphoria!!!

...Unless you're between Staunton and Waynesboro on the night of March 7th and happen to be in the vicinity of Mossy Creek Cafe. In that case, the band playing there will likely be a very strong persuasive influence toward hedonistic and wildly uninhibited behavior.

If you're duped into showing up (and we hope you will) get a cab and may Heaven help ya... 'cause we're gonna ROCK!!!!

CYA there!!!
