Hey everyone,
For a guy who likes to hear the sound of his own voice as much as I do, sometimes in life I find myself at a loss for words and it takes me a while to sum up my feelings.

This weekend was an overwhelming experience for me. I wanted to do something big for my 40th birthday (aside from having a regular bowel movement). I thought to myself: we've got 3 days in a weekend...let's try 3 shows!

That being said, kudos to my girlfriend for being VERY cool with me putting on shows during my entire birthday weekend. Thanks, Erin. I know being in a relationship with a guy in a band isn't exactly a bed of fuckin' roses.

Each night was memorable to me for so many reasons. Please take the time to read this entire blog. Each of these bands, venues, and people are a very important part of what this series of concerts was REALLY about for me. More on that later. Now for the THANK YOU's:

THE VENUES:
Thank you to Ed @ The Blue Lamp, Steve @ Club Retro, and Sophia @ The Javalounge. Not only are these venues some of my favorite (and in my personal opinion THE BEST) venues in Sacramento, but the folks who book/run these venues are some of the most genuine people to work with. The staff at each of these venues are super supportive and quite frankly, have their shit together. Thank you for always being GREAT to work with!

THE BANDS:
Social Concern...It wouldn't be right without you there.
The Problem Girls...It was an honor to see you play!
Ashtray...A bar show with Ashtray is a very lethal combination
The Snot-Cocks...The reason why the future is so bright for local punk rock.
The Compound...THANK YOU for saving the day!
Final Summation...That was THE set people will talk about for years.
Adam Varona...We need to play more shows together!!!
Rob from Smash The Glass...YOU need to play more solo shows!
Bastards of Young...I still have chills from your set. HOLY FUCK THAT WAS AWESOME!
Brian Hanover...I have a world of respect and admiration for what you bring!
Supreme Pro Wrestling...My dream of bringing you to Retro FINALLY came true!
Revolution Ink...Quite frankly, the best in the biz!

THE PEOPLE:
Mickie Rat & Paul Filthy...Thank you for putting up with my stupid ideas!
Tom H....Thanks for agreeing to be in a band with a bunch of cross-dressers!
Bobby J....Thank you for reviving Dangerous Dylan for another night!

EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED!
Whether you were one of the HARDCORE who made it out to ALL 3 NIGHTS, or you made it for only part of one night, THANK YOU SO MUCH for supporting a cause that hits very close to home for me. Thank you to those of you who purchased a CANCER SUCKS shirt! I still have most sizes available and will continue to sell them with the proceeds going to The American Cancer Society. I'll be setting up a page to purchase those online as well as have them at all Secretions shows and my solo shows as well.

This year,  you helped raise more money than we have ever been able to raise in years past. Thanks to each and every one of you we were able to raise a total of $1813.00 for The American Cancer Society. Considering I still have shirts to sell, it is very probable that we can raise over $2000.00 for cancer research.

Brain cancer took my father away from me 4 years ago. Each and every year, these "birthday shows" are punk rock therapy for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my life. I love each and every one of you.
