"Brothers and Sisters,
This is Enrico from the Viv Prince Experience, writing to you from the heart. Our band is no longer playing together, as we have decided to part ways, though on the most amicable terms. Personal issues and needs have urged me to leave my homeland of Italy in the summer of 2007; This came as no shocker to those around me, of course, as I had made my dear bandmates, family and friends aware of my decision, as far back as December 2006. After an initial, understandable shock, they sympathised with my intentions deeply like true brothers would, although my move was to inevitably signal the end of my involvement within the band. The Viv Prince Experience have been MY LIFE for the better part of three years; An indissoluble bond of friendship and an artistic project that has gone to influence my taste, sensitivity and attitude tremendously. I'm enormously proud to have contributed to this exceptional ensemble and will forever remain grateful and indebted to both Gianluca, Nico and Marco for the indelible mark they've left on me. Nowadays, Gianluca and Nico can be heard playing in the newlyformed, excellent pop-psyche group "A'dam Sykles", along with legendary, former Others frontman Max Del Pozzo. I do have plans to resume my musical carreer abroad, too, but my priorities verge strictly on the personal side at the moment. I wish to thank each and every one of you, on behalf of the whole group, for having supported our work through the years. We hope you've all enjoyed our offering as much as we have creating it; trying to express ourselves and recreate in music and words a sound/landscape that would fit our emotions and feelings, both as artists and human beings. My own most heartfelt thanks and regards go, first and foremost, to my ever-supporting family and friends, who've always stuck by my side, even through the darkest of times. You won't be forgotten, this I do promise!!!
See you somewhere down the road,
Sound as ever,
Enrico, on behalf of The Viv Prince Experience"

VIV PRINCE EXPERIENCE / THE B-BACK (split 7 single/Area Pirata; 2006)
Having a band name like Viv Prince Experience might?ve been enough for us "pretties to love them unconditionally, but it still kinda makes me glad to realise that there IS quite a few more reasons for that. "Where do we go from here" actually does share a (pretty) thing or two with Viv Prince?s experiences from the mid?60s, mixing the Pretty Things early days freaky r?n?beat, with a bit of Jagger-through-Aguilar-like growl, while the descending chord progression of "Victoria station" finds them leaning against a bit more slightlydelic wall of sounds. After turning the record to it?s B-Back, that?s exactly what you get, finding The B-Back (actually sharing the single?s "other A-side) in all their mid?60s garage punk glory, with "Fire", turning into a kind of a Gouldman-through-Yardbirds piece of freakbeat, after a punk-ish surf intro, with an occasional nod towards The Beatles as well, while "Joker and ace takes more of an Americanized Brit-invasion-influenced jangly punk approach. With both bands coming from Italy, may I add that it?s pretty strange how European bands sometimes "remember the days of swinging Britain much better than the actual "native sons".

Brothers and Sisters, We've gathered here, today, to bid our fondest farewell to our friend, longtime musical partner and bass-player Marco, whose various personal commitments have forced to leave the Psychedelic court of the VIV PRINCE EXPERIENCE. In extending heart-felt thanks to our mate, for having contributed in shaping a project we're now so very proud of, we also would like to wish him the very best in all of his future endeavours. V.P.E. will, indeed, go on, keeping the flame of mindbending, PSYCHEDELIC sounds burning bright for all you Skychildren out there!!! Another dear brother of ours, a trusted and honourable dude we've known for ages, has accepted to join us and help in keeping our mission alive and very much kickin'. We've taken a vow to bring the sounds of FREEDOM, IMAGINATION and REVERBERATION back to public attention. And that's just what we'll do!!!! Goodbye, Marco; Keep travelin with your mind. You wont be forgotten, brother... The Viv Prince Experience. Nico (Drums, vox) Gianluca (Guitars) Enrico (Lead vox, Tambourine, Moutharp) Antonio (Brand-New Bass Gee-tar!!!!) Peace and Love X

DEMO:
"VPE is a really nice garage combo from Rome, with a good coupla years experience under their belts. Better and better on the live side and with a good 7" split out now on Area Pirata. This early demo presents five tracks with influences Weswt Coast folk rock ("Maria's Gone"), garage punk ("Rise..."), fave track in here is definitely "Ivory Tower" with echoes of the Elevators, altho' I like the final ballad, "Springtime" a lot. Surely the most vintage sounding track in here. Singer Eric displays a deep vocalism reminescent of the Overcoat singer Tim Gassen and stage antics (Check 'em live!) a-la Rudi Protrudi. An album is planned by the fall."
SETTE:
"Area Pirata has released a cool split single with BBACK and VPE, both sides being hot garage stuff. It made me think that split singles between garage bands are becoming so rare nowadays, especially of real good bands like these. Both bands are preparing their full length, so stay tuned, and buy this in the meantime".

Split Viv Prince Experience/B-Back "Gli "esordienti" Viv Prince Experience sono sbalorditivi!

Puro nettare 60`s." Tony Face
