SUMMER 2008 WORKSHOP

The College at Brockport

May 27-June 15, 2008

On Monday evening, September 17, 2007, Dance Theater Workshop, Danspace Project, and The Joyce Theater with the 2006-2007 Bessies Committee, presented the Twenty-Third Annual New York Dance and Performance Awards (the Bessies) for exceptional achievements of the 2006-2007 season.  Doug Varone and Dancers are honored to have been a part of the ceremony.  Awards were given to Doug Varone, Adriane Fang, and Jane Cox. 

 To Doug Varone, for architecturally mining the territory between hope and fear in a bleak landscape of shifting tableaux; and for revealing the persistence of the individual within the community in a moving journey of courage from the known to the unknown in Boats Leaving presented at The Joyce Theater.

To Adriane Fang, for uncannily encompassing minute detail and wild abandon so effortlessly; for dancing with disarming naturalness and quicksilver attack.  And for intelligently reflecting the full range of emotional color, over many years, in the works of Doug Varone.

Join us at the 92nd Street Y, September 24-October 11.
