Hi all, long time no post...hope yer all well.  Our good friend Manglee churned out a cracking remix of Red sky for us which we just had to share...check it out above... You can get more from the man on his myspace page in our top friends, please, check him out...

We hit the studio next week for a wee bit of recording which should be the craic and we've loose plans at the moment to get an EP out to ye in the new year which is ridiculously overdue, what with the line up issues n'stuff. There's stacks of material waiting to be heard...seriously!

Keep well peeps and thanks for all the kind messages of support...

bye bye ,

Hi again, we've been informed that our debut video for 'A new way of living' will be playlisted on Night Shift on Channel 6 from the 19th – 25th May!! It's a great Irish Alternative music show on around 12.30am and available on most standard cable packages nationwide so there's no excuse.

The Vid was shot in one day in March in our rehearsal room using Peco's da's cam, Philly's disco lights and some green screen courtesy of Easons arts dept:-)Jaysus had an almighty hangover that day!!!!!  Hours and hours of editing later it's not just our debut video but my directorial debut too(and the lads think i'm modest!!!;-) so please tune in and turn up your TV!!!

Be good,
Dave

The band is made up fragments of broken bands form years gone by who enjoyed a degree of success regionally and nationally. Peco was lead singer/songwriter in Pedestrienne, Dave lead guitarist/songwriter in After the Party and Johnny played drums with Penfold DM…nobody's quite sure where Philly came from!
The band met while playing with Peco on a promotional tour of his debut solo EP in 2003. On the penultimate night of the tour, in an old Kildare ballroom, in front of a expectant capacity 'home' crowd, the sound desk failed due to a short with the lights….explosions and sparks ensued. After a brief interlude one channel was salvaged for a vocal mic and amps were turned up to 11. The night was a nervy sweaty success and more importantly a band was born.
After a lot of gigging, rehearsing, rewriting, refining and realising, only now do they feel like they're approaching what they want to sound like. And like all bands worth their salt they've no idea how to describe that in any kind of coherent sentence. The aim is melodic yet heavy, lyrical yet concise, epic yet funky, dark yet light…the aim is balance of all those things all wrapped in a pop song! …well that's the aim anyway.

September 2007 'Pete's One To Watch' by Phantom 105.2's morning DJ Sinister Pete in The News Of The World on Sunday.

'I used to listen to a band called Pedestrienne who, like many Irish bands, disappeared before making a lasting mark. I was delighted to find lead vocalist Peco Mc Loughlin has gathered together a new band, Bright Light Fiasco.

So after two years writing, out pops Red Sky This Morning, their first single released earlier this year. It's a damn catchy tune with neat twists and well-edged lyrics and I often play it on my show, Pure Morning.

While I'd still put it in the realm of demo, it shows the promise these lads have. They liken themselves to Dylan meets Interpol, but I think they have a distinctly Irish sound that breaks the usual pop-rock mould.

"A terrific CD with lead track 'Red Sky This Morning' a strident slab of heavyish pop-rock that nails it from the off with a nod or two to Interpol, REM and ELO. 'Misfit' is equally charming if a bit more restless rhythmwise. Mcloughlan is in fine vocal form on both tracks, so keep an eye on him and them."
