We all look into this pool and we see different things in the reflection and then we express these things in our art. So we have diversity however it all comes from the same pool. In our society we are raised to compete for love and success, the one up-man ship mentality and survival of the fittest reality may have its motivating factors but it is not necessarily the best way for our future.
Some have been more successful than others in their endeavors but we have all made sacrifices to do and share what we love. Walking down the road and comparing ourselves to others can be harmful and eventually lead to jealousy, arrogance, depression and apathy. Lets face it we are all different and our gift is to be able to acknowledge and give thanks for the diversity in which we share. A hundred years from now will it matter? will we be remembered?
Without love we cannot survive as a people , as a planet. Our music and creativity today is a direct descendant of the music and art people made thousands of years ago. How many artists/musicians of those times do we remember today? But the music, the art , the dance itself well that lives on in our genes, in our souls, our spirits. Because we are still drawing upon that same pool. So I ask my self and I ask you, in these changing times how can we support each other as a community?
Community is a powerful thing and this community of artists is really pretty incredible. So I say if this community was a church the music and the art itself would be the spirit of the creator. Without the community there would be no music and art and with out the music and art there would be no community. The real revolution begins within. In the Spirit of Aloha Gerardo
