The summer of MAIA SHARP continues, and you can see she's added quite a few dates throughout October.  We're off in a couple days to the Fillmore Charlotte to open for the Indigo Girls...(go ahead wicher bad ass self, Miss Maia).

BABY IT'S YOU has found it's musical legs and will kick them up at the Pasadena Playhouse.  I think this is a mini-run, November 6 through December 13, something like that.  We, The Fourelles, shall yet again don thine Sparkly Shirts in thine theata, dahling.

I've got a lovely gig with LISA PARADE coming up on September 25 at a place I've never played, the Far Bar Lounge in Little Tokyo.  We're gonna do some acoustic versions of her balls to the walls rockers.  If anyone can, LP can.  C'mon down, she effin rocks.

I better stop blogging and start practicing.

Back out with MAIA SHARP in support of her amazing album, "Echo".  Check out the mid-September date, opening for the INDIGO GIRLS

We will teleport ourselves from the Southwest to the Deep South then to Southern California in the space of about 36 hours.  Now I want southern food (guacamole).

I think it can work.....

As you can see from the calendar section, the next few months I'll be touring with MAIA SHARP.  Can't wait!  One of my favorite bass players, "Magic Dave" Carpenter, will be joining us on some of the West Coast dates.  So Maia will be backed by a carpenter and a taylor.  Guess we can make an ark or something.

Looks like we finish the July run in Nashville...probably should start my training now.....

i don't need another guitar
i don't need another guitar
i don't need another guitar
i don't need another guitar
i don't need another guitar
i don't need another guitar

except that one....

See you on the road!

So pardon me while I nurse my coffee...

Maia Sharp's tour starts rolling heavily in July.  I'll keep posting dates as they come in.  Busy touring.  Lean Mean Road Machine.  Planes and Trains and Automobiles but mostly us in an oversized gas guzzler tearing up the highways.  I usually sit in the back humming "another white dash, another white dash"....

Lisa Parade is marching this Sunday, the 24th at Hotel Cafe.  Lisa's band really cooks, and she is a stage show all by herself, so c'mon out if you can handle the Cafe.  Now that they've expanded the stage, life is much, much easier.

Had a lovely gig this past week with my bud Kiki Ebsen at Molly Malone's.  I think Kiki's gonna book more gigs around town (she tours and travels a lot), and I hope so.  A night of her music and her musicians always makes me smile really really big.

Oh, yes, Baby It's You has changed it's schedule AGAIN, but I do believe we are on track for a June 18 re-opening.  Miss the Fourelles!  Miss the lovely Crew!  Miss the Paycheck!  God I'm shallow...

Well off to spread joy and love.  But first, coffee.....

Blech.  'Nuff said.

We're Back And This Time It's Personal.
Baby It's You is the little play that could.  We start rolling again in May, but the dates are all over the map, so I'll try to keep the schedule as accurate as I can.  I'm looking forward to hanging with the Fourelles again....it's been weird having the flask to myself.

Got a very cool gig with
The Lisa Parade coming up on the 24th at Vitello's.  Lisa and her Parade are an excellent evening of music, so join us if you can.

I'm getting some prospective dates for Maia Sharp's summer tour, and it's gonna be rocking.  As soon as the ink dries, I'll post 'em.

Now, back to the line items and business expenses.  Blech.

May brings an inspiring round of dates with Maia Sharp.  We'll be headed back east for some dates, including two slots opening for Bonnie Raitt.  Maia's latest album, produced by Don Was, is a wonderful, wonderful work.  I can't wait to play these songs live.

Baby It's You is showing no signs of stopping.  We're firing up the rehearsals again this week, and doing some invitation-only shows the 13th through the 15th.

The Yeo's commercial is finally complete - check out the long version here.  They cut a bar of my music.  Dammit.  And back to the happy place.  Ooohhhhmmmmm......

Lisa Parade had a hugely successful record release party at Hotel Cafe this month, and we've got additional dates on the horizon.  Check out Lisa's Myspace page for dates.

What else?  Oh, right, the stray kitty whom I didn't want to adopt is 3 months in, $700 in vet bills, walks on my face at night, and starts meowing loudly at 4:30 a.m. every single day.

Meow.

I've decided to take a more pro-active approach in finding the stray a home.  It's easier just to name him and stick him on a bed somewhere.  That's my approach.

The Fourelles are in hot demand, and so is the play.
Baby It's You
is a big pink bunny that just drums and drums and drums.  Don't believe the website.  We're indeed still running.

Playing at Kulak's with
Kiki Ebsen and Lily Wilson
this week, and that's always a sweet evening of music.

Finished the music for Yeo's commercial spot featuring MTV's
Kaba Modern,
a wicked cool dance troup.  Actually, I finished the music last July, but now there's video to go along with it.  Hm.  I wonder if they're still kids.  Or is it gonna look like Cloris on Dancing With The Stars?

Hey, I work 40 hours a year to put kibble in these bowls....

Well, still no luck finding the humans for the lost kitty.  Now I have two lost kitties in the backyard, so I guess I'm the new human.  Gotta take down the "Eat At Joe's" sign or something....
Kiki, Matt and I will be back at Penelope's every Friday in February, and that's always a perfect lunch.  Acoustic guitars, Matt's lovely drumming, and Kiki's wonderful songs.  We've also got a date at Kulak's on the books in February, just not sure when.  Musician bookkeeping.

I just finished a score for director Mark Ryan's new documentary, The Art Of Blending.

"Baby It's You" has been extended through January, so the Fourelles are riding again tonight and every weekend through the 25th.  Come see our sparkly shirts.  They wanted us to wear dresses but I vetoed the idea.

Now, back to the pet store.....

This little soul has been hanging around the Westchester/Playa Del Rey area. I first noticed him on 12/16/08. Need to find his humans. He was not wearing a collar, and my Avid scanner does not read a microchip on him.

Please contact me through Myspace for further info.

Happy Kitty Zen,

So at this point I've learned all the "shortcuts" between my home and West Hollywood. You know what? There aren't any. Baby It's You is a wonderful play, and I'm happy to be a part of it, I just want the Coast Playhouse to be in my living room.

Leigh Jones is hitting the road again for her 2nd promo tour, and I'll be joining her, this time in the Red States. I think I get back on election day....note to self: Vote, dammit. Maybe if I stick the absentee ballot on the fridge.....

Kiki Ebsen is back at Penelope's with Matt Starr and I on 11/7. I love that gig. The last time we played there, it was just butter. Yea, baby. Of course, this is all just icing on the cake - don't forget Kiki's gig at the Hollywood Palladium coming up on November 13.

And, yea, last night I decided to use my own judgment on guitar volume Suitable For Those Watching Musical. Ahhhh......all we are saying is give Tele a chance.....
