I had the great pleasure of playing with this tremendous singer on Sat. Aug. 11 in Marblehead, MA. This great band featured Brad Hatfield on piano, John Lockwood on bass, Yoron Isreal on drums any myself on tenor.

Hello all... I would like to inform all of you about a memorial service for the late Michael Brecker. The service will take place on February 20 at Town Hall in New York City from 6:00 -7:30 pm. This is General Admission and seating is first come, first service. Doors will open at 5:15 pm. Town Hall is located at 123 W. 43rd St. in Manhattan. I encourage all Michael Brecker fans and admirers to attend this public service. Again, the saxophone world has lost it's biggest influence since the late John Coltrane. He will be missed!

It is with a heavy heart that I share the following. My friend and mentor Michael Brecker has died. He has had a very long struggle with cancer and finally succumbed to the disease on Satuday, January 13, 2007. He was 57 years old. This comes as a great shock as I just was with him last week. We hung at his home and had lunch at the local diner. He will be sadly missed by the entire saxophone and musical communities. May he rest in peace. Dino
