It's already August, and we can't believe how fast days are passing by. In the month of June we performed at the Nokia Theater in NYC,
and visited the New Yankee Stadium to perform for the RMHC®/HACER® Scholarship Program for Latino High School Seniors. This
was a great experience for the band; we got an exclusive tour of the
stadiums and had the opportunity to take photos on the field.
Meet the Dream Team: (from top - left to right) Alexis Brugal (Manager), Karollyns, Ricky, Chris Ramon (Logistics), Nero (Publicist), Steve, & Bombie
Hola Mi Gente,
I hope everyone out there is doing great! As to us, were doing
even greater! This last month was jam-packed with fun activities.
We had a blast at the LAMC where we got to meet some cool Latin
artists & personalities from around the globe (I met Aterciopelados
for God sakes!).
We also got to perform on the Gibson Bus with our friends from
Gibson Guitars & AOL Latino (shout-out to our pals Pioli &
Mario!), below, you can enjoy a lil' clip of us performing an acoustic
'Donde Has Estado' (peep Bombi bangin' on the back of a crispy new
Gibson, lol).
Also, we visited the folks in Queens and had a kick-ass concert in
D'Antigua. Thanks to all of you who came out to see us and a special
shout-out to our photographer and friend Diego Vallejo for putting it
all together. There's something about playing in that place that makes
you feel like a real rock star. Speaking of ROCK, the following months
Taxi Amarillo has lots in store. We are kicking it all off with a trip
to the West coast!
On August 5th we will be playing alongside some cool acts
including: Ines Gaviria, Pablo Olivares, Cosmopolitan, Strangely
Attractive and more at the "BMI Verano Alternativo showcase @ King
King" (Hollywood, CA).
Then, on August 6th we will be playing at Molly Malones in LA. I cant wait to rock the house with my bros.
We
will be back home in time for a very special concert that will take
place in the legendary B.B. Kings Theater on 42nd Street. Come down
September 7th and be part of 'The Rock Conference' where we will be
joined by a slew of bands to show the world how we rock in NYC, plus,
there's gonna be a "surprise" guest (don't you wanna know who that is?
Come out!).
And last but not least, we want to invite you all to come out to
Central Park on Saturday September 12 for People En Español Fiesta 2009
where we will be sharing the stage with David Bisbal, Selena Gomez, La
India and hosted by Celines Toribio. We can't wait!

And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we submitted
our album to the Latin Grammy under 7 categories! Let's pray together,
to see if we get nominated. We are all very, very grateful and
have all of you, our fans, followers, friends and family to thank for
all this. I'm gonna take the opportunity to ask all of you out there to
keep voting for our video "Si, te amo" on HTV.com, like you've been
doing faithfully. Thanks to you we get hits daily from folks
from all over South America and in the states that have been seeing the
video and are now devote Taxi Heads. I'm sending them all a huge
digital hug right now.
Well, see you all out there and don't
forget to keep coming back to our pages for updates on show dates and
appearances, since there will definitely be some new dates added soon:

In April we informed you that our single "Si, Te Amo" was featured as song of the week on Itunes and in only 24 hours we jumped to # 22 in the Latino Category (yes that included Pop Rock, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reguetto, etc)...THANKS TO YOU
Hello, First, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our family, friends and fans for their unconditional love and support. Thank you for buying our album! And if you haven't gotten it yet... go get it!
As you all know we did a show at Mamajuana Cafe, NYC. This show was very special to us being as it was our first acoustic show. Our family and fans came out to show their support and it was a fun night. There was a very intimate feeling in the air since the stage was close to our fans. It never gets old to hear our fans sing along to every song. As Chris mentioned in last months newsletter we had a special guest join us, Vicente the lead singer from Calor Urbano. He joined us for "Yo No Soy Un Tonto" and it was great to collaborate with such a talented musician. Thanks Vicente! I want to give a very special thank you to Dilenia & Tony from "En La Escena" NBC NY Non-Stop (we had a blast doing the interview in Central Park), Fernanda from El Especial, Vicglamar from NY Al Dia, Leda Matos, Candida from Actual, and the beautiful girls from McDonalds (Nicole & Maritza) who came out to hear and interview us.
If you don't already know we have an upcoming show (by invitation only) on Friday, May 8th at the Hudson River Cafe in Manhattan. And if you want to join us, please sign up to our mailing list to receive an exclusive invite. Taking a break from Britney Spears Tour, I am pleased to announce that our bassist Steve "Styles" Rodriquez will be joining us! We are excited to all be back together, even if it's just for one night! So don't miss out on this, as Steve would say "journey"- lol! Remember, Friday May 8th!
I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I am once again a Tio! My sister Elizabeth and her husband Anselmo welcomed my beautiful baby niece, Aria Bella Tobar. However, the Berrios clan does not stop there- my sisters Yadira and Ester are also expecting! But wait, there's more- my brother Peter is expecting a baby with his wife Marlene! That brings me to a total of 18 nieces and nephews (and counting-lol)! I love you all and can't wait to see you soon!
I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know about our Mega TV interview with Maria Santana. It has been on youtube since April 1st, so if you haven't checked it out, please do so! Thank you to Maria Santana and Mega TV for giving us the opportunity to showcase our band and our music. Taxi Amarillo is here for the long haul and we want our fans to know that we are grateful for their love and support. This is only the beginning. Check up on us daily at www.taxiamarillo.com and www.myspace.com/taxiamarillo for show dates and interviews. Keep spreading the word!
Thank you very much! Peace, Love and Harmony. Go Lakers! Kobe Bryant for MVP! - Bombie

It's already April, and I can't believe how fast days are passing. Just a few months ago we were sitting in a room wondering how we were gonna get people to get off their futons and come out to our shows. But, look at all that we've accomplished in just a year: Barack Obama became President of the United States, almost the entire Yankee baseball team was found guilty of using steroids and 4 dudes from the Bronx/ Washington Heights, NY made a kick-ass rock album! No, but seriously, thanks to all of you who came out and supported our shows in NYC (D'Antigua & The Annex). We had a blast. We got to meet some really interesting people who introduced us to a whole world of Rock within the streets of NY. A big shout out to Cesar Camacho, Yeli Laverde, Ramon Pimentel, Jess Glick, Diego Vallejo, Mario Torres Vazquez (AOL Latino) & of course Porfirio Piña (BMI). We want to thank all of you for helping us get the word out about "the movement". Oh, you seem surprised. YES, this is a movement, like those brought forth by Andy Warhol & John Lennon, Taxi Amarillo is a movement. With our new self-titled album (now available online through WWW.TAXIAMARILLO.COM ) we bring you words and music charged with the essence of our time and will continue to do so. And with this monthly newsletter of sorts we will be bringing you as many other bits of new information about our activities as we can.
MARCH We taped for Telemundo 47 Noticiero's 'Cine, Musica y Mas' which will air sometime between April & May 8th. We did an interview on NY1 Noticias with the beautiful Carleth Keys, which you can go see at ny1noticias.com right now. We also had the privilege of doing our first interview with the nice people at EFE for all Spanish speaking press which was also lots fun. If you didn't already notice, Taxi Amarillo's bassist/musical-mastermind Steve "STYLES" Rodriguez has been missing from our recent TV & Radio appearances and this is due to him being out on tour with none other than Pop Icon Britney Spears' Circus. In the mean time my big brother Henry (aka Henrito) is holding down the bass spot and has been doing an exceptional job at it, kudos broham. Steve, we miss you like crazy bro and need you here to make us puke from laughter again. Check him out when they go to your town people, it's really a Circus. And to the haters, Steve did not quit the band; he will be with us at our HRC show on May. Jesus!
UPDATE
For those of you who missed our March shows, worry not, there will be more shows in the city. April 6th we will be in Mamajuana Cafe (247 Dyckman St New York, NY10034) performing an acoustic set of our songs and we may even have some guest performances (who knows?!). Also, on May 8th we will be playing at Hudson River Cafe (697 W 133rd StNew York, NY10027) and that show will NOT be acoustic so get ready to rock your socks off that night, I mean, were sharing the stage with Sonido Secreto for God sakes. If you don't wear socks, you should, unless you're wearing chanclas or how Steve likes to call 'em "Chanks". Just make sure you come see us live so you get the real TA experience. To register for this show go to the Jack Daniels Studio No.7 webpage: http://www.batanga.com/minisites/jackdaniels/artist.aspx?artist=taxi See you there! If you want to be part of the movement let us know and subscribe to this newsletter, free of charge. All you have to do is send us a message with ur e-mail and weæ'' take care of the rest. We would love to stay connected and keep you all up to date. PEACE - Chris

TITERES = POLITICOS1. m. DEBAJO! MILAGROS! CUIDADO!
