Finally in the shops!

Run don't walk!

Info:

Acoustic High-End Research - Strada Professional Sound Effects - Running Back
That's what you've been waiting for: a record with nothing but sound tools. It pretty much does what it says: sirens, wind, water, ambience, and kids on LSD hysterically laughing. Isn’t that great? Speaking of those laughing kids. That’s what caught our attention during a warm and cozy Plastic People night with Âme’s Kristian. Blessed with an original copy of this record released via Kobe’s honorable Strada Records store, an email attempt in purchasing a copy ended up in a re-issue agreement as the initial run of approximately 300 copies was long lost and gone. On top of it, Kristian lost his in one of these nasty "airport baggage clerks DJ robbery" incidents. You can use it for intros, outros, mixes, tricks and the likes. Plus: Daniel "The Dancer" Wang explains in his scientific and lyrical liner notes why YOU have to acquire this record in an 180g heavy plate edition with nice artwork as per usual. Limited, precious and strictly bound to wax. No downloads! Sorry, digi kids! - limited run of 498 units on 180 gr. vinyl with full picture cover!

Hello young aspiring producers or old frustrated ones,

we get really swamped with demos and links and demo links and questions about demos or demo links at the moment. So, before you think about sending us anything, take a deep breath and a short moment of your time instead of wasting it for all of us. Do you really know anything about this label? More important, do you like the music we put out? Hell, have you even listened to it? If so, it might makes sense to contact the coach, otherwise...please...Miss Thing!

And what about those mass send emails to 100 and one labels, all visible in the email header? Ruff times, huh?

At first, we wanted to tell you that unless your name is Larry Levan, Andy Sojka or Radio Slave, it would make no sense at all to even try, but we don't want to be too rude, do we?

To put it in a nutshell: The Team consists of close or far friends and their friends or friends of their friends. Are you a friend?

Thanks for listening to this rant.

Running Back

ps. If you know the maiden name of Gerd's mother, we offer you an album deal.

Ain’t no stopping us now. Even if you might feel that the release pressure is on, we just cannot help to put out these gems (at least, we think that’s what they are). What you hold in your hands (or on your laptop) is neo-house of the finest order. Rhein-Main kid Robert Dietz (Cécille, Be Chosen etc.) was so kind to share his definition of h-muzik with us. To put it in a nutshell: “Forward Snipping” slices and cuts some nice vocal bits in a true ear candy way. Even my brother gets goose bumps. “Witness” sounds like a lost K.O.T. track resp. them being on the right track again and to round it all up, “Faber Mix” is a disc jockey tool that brings you from A to B or even Z. And please, always keep Paul “Trouble” Anderson in mind: A house is where you live in and a garage is where you park your car. Loop d’ Loop! Already played by everyone…ha, ha, ha!

Better late than never:

The Running Back sports team is glad to welcome two new players to its roster. Dplay and whiz kid Manuel Tur (see also his brilliant RIBN stuff) have caused a great stir with a bouquet of 12-inches for outfits like Zurich’s beloved Drumpoet Community or the Compost Black Label as well as knocking out well-made remixes. For instance, their work on Kiloo’s “The Passion” is just adorable. Here we have them melted into one organism called Dplay, while Mtur moves in silence (or in the production credits, if you please). Stretching out on the A-side, “Huub Sand” is not only a tribute to two of Schalke 04’s greatest gentlemen, but a prime-example of cavernous, stoic and infective house those two (no not the Schalke guys) had quite an impact on. Initially planned to come with a remix by the mighty Radio Slave (please look at cat-no. 012 to see what became of that), our coach could convince the duo to hand out two rather atypical, nonetheless bloodcurdling tunes instead: “Tschaka” kicks some deep dub disco houz styles of the highest orders with riot-like effects on your mind, body & soul. Finally, “Schroulé” is a claustrophobic corker, if we have ever seen one. Should be the perfect sound track for padded cells and the up-and-coming remake of Mel Brooks’ “Frankenstein". These Ruhrpott kids are alright!

Stop…press…an extraordinary Radio Slave donation for Running Back! The man like Matt Edwards took care of a matter near to his and our heart: an EP dedicated to the crafty DJ Duke, his infamous Power Music label empire and those massive sounds dat ruled di Sound Factory nation. One side holds a modern track in an old fashioned style of lovin’ (quote freely adapted from Courtney Melody): think RS’ ‘Tantakatan’ straightened out. “That’s all the record do? Yeah, bitch, that’s all the record do.” Special thanks go to Omar-S for clarifying these matters once and for all. Already huge with big room boys Âme, natty dread Josh Wink and a few others. Surprise, surprise! Flip for a portrait of a young and restless Todd Terry circa ‘92 slipping on his bathroom rug while listening to some X-102. Dirt McGirt! Those 3 people out there who still buy audio plastic might be delighted to find out that they get a special bunch of bonus tracks: super heavy EFX sirens, street noise and soothing rain sounds. Can you dig it?
