Let Love Lead You Home is a new charity that happygolovely began in effort to get shoes to children and families in need.  Right now the charity benefits families in Reynosa,  Mexico.  Before and during shows, shoes can be brought in to be donated and happygolovely will send them to Reynosa through a group already sending shoes at Central College in Pella, Iowa.  Further questions can be emailed to Layne@happygolovely.com if you are looking to participate.

Partner with happygolovely and help get shoes on the feet of children in Reynosa,Mexico, a poor town just across the border full of gang and drug violence. Many of the children there do not have enough money to buy their own clothes, let alone go to school or the doctor.

Helping is simple just bring in pairs of shoes you no longer wear anymore, or simply wish to donate and  drop them in the box.  Each pair of shoes will go to children and families in need in Reynosa.  Let your love lead them to safer and healthier homes.  Go to happygolovely.com for more information on how you can help out or contact Layne@happygolovely.com for more information.

Join happygolovely at the Ignition Center on January 6, 2010 for worship and a concert and pick up their new album “Tidal Waves and Hollow Graves” on sale now!  Shoes can be left at the Ignition Center during the hours the venue is opened daily and can also be dropped off before, during, and after the happygolovely concert on January 6.

Many know, we spent the last week on a magical fairy tale journey, playing an amazing show for a beautiful crowd at six flags in st. louis, then going to GMA in nashville and hanging out with some amazing bands and getting our photos taken by an amazing photographer and also being featured in HM magazine.  Of course the fairy tale ended for a while and we all traveled back but now to celebrate we are releasing our first music video, for Brighter Than from our Love Divine EP on Saturday April 25th and 7 PM on myspace, youtube, and facebook so check it out.  We have also been given the amazing chance to open for Sparrow Records Danyew on May 1st at Cedar Hills Community Church in Cedar Rapids, so everyone who can should come out for that amazing event.  After that we are heading to Nebraska to record and play a show with VOTA and Staggerford.  From there, the summer takes off and we will be all over the place.  So check out the music video and stay tuned for more updates as they come!

Peace and Love,
Layne

How could we let ourselves get here? The society in which we live in has tricked us into believing in a self-centered materialistic way of life. It's in our very nature to want to improve our own worlds and take as much as we can- and our society has chosen to embrace that. As a generation and as informed people we need to rise against this view of life and reevaluate the way we live our lives. Is it really necessary to spend money on new vehicles, new clothes, and mp3 players when there are people who are dying everyday because of a lack of clean water and health care? Religions, political parties, and organizations spend thousands of dollars on rallies and events that discuss bringing a hope to those who need it, but we're contradicting ourselves!
Screw society's standards of success...Let's move to where there are needs. What's more important- going to college and educating yourself to simply catapult yourself to success and riches, or going and making a difference by showing love to those who need it? Love is about sacrifice. Society would see those who don't go to college as perhaps failures, and while it is true that education is power, experiences bring forth knowledge and ultimately can change the world, more so than textbook knowledge- more so than paying 35,000 dollars a year for schooling. The amount of money we spend on schooling ridiculous- it's extremely self-centered. We've become a society that believes it to be more important to educate the wealthy than to create equal opportunities for all. Imagine all of the amazing things we could do with the money we spend on these self-centered things. It will only be through sacrifice that poverty will be ended.

We are going to bring awareness to our community with a Walk to fight AIDS/HIV in Africa. By starting at a location that was lost in the flood of 2008, we are connecting a local tragedy to one in Africa. Over 60% of those affected by AIDS live in Africa, and thousands die each day because of the disease. Medical treatment is crucial to these impoverished areas of the world.

All you have to do is walk. Walk a Mile along 1st Avenue starting from the Dairy Queen location that was lost to the Flood of 2008. For your mile the Take The Walk campaign will donate $1 to the cause. For every friend that joins the Walk, TTW campaign will donate $1. It only takes one mile of your day to save lives in Africa.

Our latest album, the Love Divine EP, after 6 months of recording, tuning, mixing, and even transferring to a new studio, the EP is DONE.

Sure, there has been many set backs....(what happened to 9.23.08?!?...blame the government...I wish I was joking...) The album will be up for listening on our myspace, as well as iTunes within the next couple of months (it takes awhile for iTunes to process the music).

As for the physical CD package, we will be getting those out for the public as soon as we can.
Once they're they're ready to go, they will be available on CDBaby. com, happygolovely. com, and at our live shows.

The EP songlist will include "Everyone's Right", "Brighter Than", "44", "Candlefuse", "Reaching", and "Love Divine (Seeking)"

....Make sure to check the myspace tomorrow and all weekend for previews of the new music!

Howdy!

We just had  one of the best weekends of our lives with the youth from New Covenant and we are extremely blessed to call them all our friends! First of all mad props to them for being amazing and praise to God for giving us an opportunity.  There may be some typos in this but it is very early Sunday morning after returning from camp.  Those of you who went to the camp should be particularly interested...but to add to our 'ever growing' 'street cred' as a Christian band...as we loaded our stuff back into the church the alarm went off and the lovely Cedar Rapids Police Department payed us a visit. After innocently telling them what happened we were left with yet another story on top of many many others from an amaaazing weekend with God and making new friends.

God Bless and Much Love

Layne
