Trainerspotter has collaborated with photographer Rob Felix for the Spring and Summer 2009 photoshoot.

Rob Felix is a British documentary photographer, photojournalist and collector. He is known for his photographic projects that take a critical look at modern young society with the underlining themes presence of legal, addictive substances; such as cigarettes, coffee and alcohol intertwined with consumerism, friends, family and relationships, and food.

His images often portray moments of quiet drama, touching upon areas of experience which are familiar but which remain unspoken or below the surface. Felix’s narratives suggest that we have caught his characters unawares for a moment, leaving us to imagine the build-up to the incident portrayed.

Part 2, the summer set will be on-line on the front of the website in April and more of Rob's work can be found through his Myspace, www.myspace.com/robfelixphotography

Thank you Rob Felix.

The exploration and deconstruction of popular culture consumption continues this season with influences from our youth and some from our present!

New styles this season include the 1950’s college wear inspired Sweatpants and shorts. Authentic details such as the wide rib waistband and drawstring cord hems add a touch of individuality to our revival of the much maligned Tracky bottom.

A quintessential American college Warm Up jacket emblazoned with a chain stitched Trainerspotter and discrete Palm logo on the sleeve.

Our lightweight showerproof Ninja Cag is perfect for the spring and summer, inspired by California’s Sierra Designs and their late 60’s hiking cagoule, we’ve even replicated the shoulder position of their logo badge as a nod to our fav original outdoor brand! Available in 3 colours, its made from tough ripstop and complimented by off beat detailing it’s a wardrobe staple.

Following on from the Trials jacket comes the Sahara Jacket, made from a lightweight unlined wax cotton and based on a 1930’s desert riding smock with authentic bellows pockets and neck strap detail.

Two new sunglasses styles hit the racks, first the CZ’s inspired by THE 80’s shade brand Cazal, for the discerning fashionista combining metallics and snakeskin prints! Second, the Rocksteady range with an aviator frame and oilslick reflective 1 piece lens.

With the release of the 2009 Trainerspotter spring and Summer collection on the horizon we thought it would be good to kick off the season with some S.M.U Made In England windjammers to wet your appetites.

There are 3 colourways available for the first hit, Navy with an orange plaid lining, Black with a rainbow coloured check and a grey and black jammer.

First up is the navy colourway, sported by our latest employee, Woody!

This button up fly fronted jammer is made from lightweight Macintosch coated cotton fabric for its outer and a plaid for warmth on the inside (the grey has plain black cotton for contrast).  Behind the button flap we can boast of a concealed chunky brass YKK exceller zipper.  Heavyweight wool rib completes the classic finish for the cuff and waistband.  The Navy and Black windjammers are only available from the stores No-One in Shorditch and Goodstead in Edinburgh and the Grey is available from the webstore too.

Released early from the SS09 Made In England S.M.U collection are 2 Trapper hats to keep the winter chill at bay. Using our Black Rain effect waterproof polyurethane technical fabric and an inner plush plaid fleece, this hat offers all round bad weather protection against the rain, the wind and the cold. Side flaps unbutton to offer added ear and neck warmth too. Extra details include 50's wood effect buttons, stiff peak to combat heavy rain and angled stitched button holes for easy flap release.

There are 2 colourways to the fleece with a blue, gray, cream and a red, grey, cream, green available.
