Not sure if you ever listened to Prairie Home Companion on public radio (you don't seem like the type of person who would), but it's been a favorite of my Aunt Joyce for years. The most anticipated part of the radio show would be the news from the fictitious place of Lake Wobegon in Minnesota (hell, I don't even know much about it as I thought it was Wisconsin till I looked it up on Wikepedia). Well, I need to have my own show with news from the trailer park. You should hear of Clarence's latest exploits. One of his buddies called Clarence and told him he saw a white squirrel. So Clarence grabbed his shot gun, and the shells he left in my JEEP and headed for his friend's house. Well, the squirrel, not wanting to die, moved on down a few houses. So Clarence pursued, and had to shoot the critter twice, even with neighbor's looking on. They were all amazed nobody called the law, but Clarence didn't hang around to wait for the law, but hurried home with his prize. That's not too far out of the ordinary, but he brought it to church tonight and had to show everybody. He was telling one camo clad parishioner that he never saw a squirrel that color. I told them both I never seen anybody bring a dead squirrel to church. Ah shoot, I ought to blog this. LOL. Even though I got a couple shots, none of them are really good enough for posting.

Could it be government is just not doing enough? Could there be a conspiracy? Well, it looks like Maxine Waters has let the cat out of the bag: Well, it all makes sense now. Guess that's why they don't want us drilling for oil on our soil. No wonder they recently passed legislation that caused the price of oil to sky rocket.

Well, I've tried a few diets. Never too successful. One expert says this, another that. They usually contradict. The key is eating less, but then again starvation diets rarely work. Sense God is in control of everything, I've descided to ask God to help me lose weight as I'm thinking him for the meal. So that God would be glorified as I lose the weight, I descided to post that information here on my blog, so He would get the glory. I've been doing this for a while, and the Dr. who did my DOT physical noted that I had lost some weight. My jeans seem to fit a bit looser, which is great, because the next size bigger in pants the manufacturer assumes you'll be wearing them over your belly, and therefore wouldn't fit me. Therefore I look forward to what the Lord will do.

I don't get to watch or listen to news too often. Although many truck stops have TVs set to news channels, ususally you cannot hear them. CNN has been referred to the Clinton News Network back during the Clinton years. But it kinda suprises me they had an article about the right to carry firearms in Utah colleges. The gist of the report seemed to be that if the Virgina Tech students were armed, 30+ wouldn't have died. Granted they had some empty headed liberal professor who was against armed students. Her argument was how could more guns in society make this a safer society. DUH!!! Obviously there was rules against bringing guns into VT, but Cho Seung-Hui obviosly ignored those rules, as any criminal ignores rules and laws. That's why criminals are criminals. But if more folks were armed, then the wicked wouldn't have been so easily able to slaughter the innocent. I'm now a gun owner, but sense there are laws and rules about bringing a gun in the truck with me, chances are this weapon will probably spend 99.9% of it's time locked away. Granted, the Lord is my protection. But when honest Americans are armed, I feel we are safer from criminals and tyranny. PLease respond:)

Yup, mention the phrase "Christian Metal" to no one who has heard or enjoyed it, and you'll probably not get a favorable responce, weather from believer or unbeliver. Therefore I shall tell you my story: Years ago I was going to quit a trucking job I was unhappy with. To avoid having to stuff a lot of stuff into the rental car to take home I stopped by the house to take stuff out of the truck I wouldn't really need for the next few weeks. The Lord told me to take the worldly rock & heavy metal CDs out of my truck. I argued that I needed them to stay awake (I learned later by listening to a Judas Priest interview that it's easier to stay awake for audio books, sermons, and interviews, than to music no matter how heavy). So I left the CDs in my truck. Well, leaving the company I was with stressed me so bad, and gave me such indigestion that I thought for sure I was having heart trouble. While at a Pilot truck stop in Ohio I felt God wanted me to throw all my CDs away. Being a garbage picker by nature, I am never one to throw anything of value away, and yet I threw about 20 CDs away. After the fact I really don't think this was God's will, after all he told me to leave them at home. None the less, I prayed that God would help me to like Chritian music. That he'd change my musical tastes to like contemporary. Well, the only Chritian music tape I had at the time was something some Chritian youth group gave me at a truckstop. The lyrics were great, as they were scripture, but musically sounded like the sound track to a toddlers TV show. (I also listened to Bible on CD a lot then). Well, one day when I was home I found a web site with internet radio stations. I figured I'd see if there was any Metal stations, sense Metal isn't the most popular variety of music. There was enless listing for metal. Then I got an idea, what about Christian Metal. The list was much definetly shorter, but Chritian Metal does exist. I found a great site, http://metalforjesus.org/. There I found out about great bands and ordered CDs. I also found great internet radio stations of which to familiarize myself with Christian Metal. Granted, contemporary Christian has great lyrics, that are much easier to understand what they are singing that they're metal counterparts, but nothing like praising the Lord with a loud guitar. ..>..> ..>| Psa 150:4 |
| Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. | ..> So I praise the Lord for folks such as Jacob's Dream, Saint, and the others. Also for TriRock Radio. Shame I can't get them while in my truck. Always looking for more good Christian metal and rock. If you know of any, drop me a line:) P.S. Not sure if "In the Presence" by Bloodgood is on "To Germany with Love" but that's all I could find for that " Tell us what you're reading, viewing, or listening to:"

You know what makes me sick? You know what makes me so angry I want to stuff a government mandated airbag up some politicians wazoo and set it off? I was wandering around the lot at work last night. Seems we bought a few mag trucks (for Lord only knows what purpose). They're neat little 4 cylinder 5 speed trucks with lights, turn signals, and a crappy sterio, that according to the label are for off road use only. According to their web site (http://www.maginternationalinc.com/) the speed is governed by law to 25mph. I'm willing to bet that in other countries these trucks are not governed but can be used on the roads. I know what you are thinking, who in the USA would want to use a little truck like that on the road. After all, us rich Americans would rather have a 4 door F350 4x4 diesel pickup in which to drive to the mall. But it seems to me, if I remember properly, that I was taught in school that this is the land of the free, home of the brave. And yet if I wish to drive a Mag truck on the road, then I'd need to go to a third world country. If I want to smoke in public (of which I don't smoke) then I'd need to move to China. Seems if you want any freedoms, you need to leave the USA. Well, maybe after the rest of the world has move here for our jobs and social programs, (and with Hillary as our Pres.) maybe we can move to the countries they left in search of the freedoms we lost here. WAKE UP Uhmerika!!! After they take God out of our national slogans and such, maybe they can change "Land of the free, home of the brave", to "Land of the Rich, home of the Opressed!"
P.S. For you folks up in Yankee land, "You know what makes me so mad" and "Wake up Uhmerika" is an attempted impersonation of Earl Pitts.

I recently recieved an e-mail from my Aunt, and have verified it on Snopes:
Just to be sure that it was true, I checked this on Snopes. If you go to Snopes, it's on the left side of the home page. (http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp) Interesting....
House 1:
The four-bedroom home was planned so that "every room has a relationship with something in the landscape that's different from the room next door. Each of the rooms feels like a slightly different place." The resulting single-story house is a paragon of environmental planning.
The passive-solar house is built of honey-colored native limestone and positioned to absorb winter sunlight, warming the interior walkways and walls of the 4,000-square-foot residence. Geothermal heat pumps circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the ground. These waters pass through a heat exchange system that keeps the home warm in winter and cool in summer. A 25,000-gallon underground cistern collects rainwater gathered from roof urns; astewater from sinks, toilets, and showers cascades into underground purifying tanks and is also funneled into the cistern. The water from the cistern is then used to irrigate the landscaping around the four-bedroom home, (which) uses indigenous grasses, shrubs, and flowers to complete the exterior treatment of the home. In addition to its minimal environmental impact, the look and layout of the house reflect one of the paramount priorities: relaxation. A spacious 10-foot porch wraps completely around the residence and beckons the family outdoors. With few hallways to speak of, family and guests make their way from room to room either directly or by way of the porch. "The house doesn't hold you in. Where the porch ends there is grass. There is no step-up at all." This house consumes 25% of the energy of an average American home. (Source: Cowboys and Indians Magazine, Oct. 2002 and Chicago Tribune April 2001.)
House 2:
This 20-room, 8-bathroom house consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year. The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, this house devoured nearly 221,000 kWh, more than 20 times the national average. Last August alone, the house burned through 22,619 kWh, guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of this energy consumption, the average monthly electric bill topped $1,359. Also, natural gas bills for this house and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year. In total, this house had nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for 2006. (Source: just about anywhere in the news last month online and on talk radio, but barely on TV.)
House 1 belongs to George and Laura Bush, and is in Crawford, Texas.
House 2 belongs to Al and Tipper Gore, and is in Nashville, Tennessee.
I was discussing global warming with some truckers in Washington state. I realized that the first change in climate I noticed was after Mt. St. Helen blew in 1980. It was the first green Christmas I remember in Rochester, NY. After that winters were not as cold, and we didn't get nearly as much snow. Seems they've gotten more snow in recent years. I've read that volcanos can release far more pollutants than man. Not sure of the exact numbers.
Second point, according to "environmentalists" global warming is caused from man releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Burning any fuel results in carbon dioxide, but it takes carbon dioxide to make fuel (ie: plants need carbon dioxide for photosynthisis). The problem with burning fossil fuels is is that we're releasing carbon dioxide that has been buried for thousands of years. Personally I don't think this causes global warming, but "environmentalists" do. So, it would seem the answer would be to convert all engines to bio fuels. Mythbusters showed that you can run an old Mercedes diesel car on straight fry oil. Diesels were originally designed to run on vegetable oil. The best benefit to running on bio fuels is that we can make them here in the good old USA.
So why don't "environmentalists" (like Algore) support bio fuels? Because he's a hypocrite!!!!
I look forward to y'all's comments :)

I recently took and interesting Bible quiz written by Kathy: KathyAfter I took the quiz, I decided to read her blogs. She had one on homosexuality and the church. She seemed to make two points: 1. The church has made homosexuality the ulitmate and unpardonable sin, and they are wrong. 2. The church should accept and promote those who actively practise homosexual relations. I agree with her first point but to the second point, and in reply to other folks who commented, I pointed out (with much scripture) that the act of homosexuality is a sin and that those who commit this sin and refuse to repent should be ejected from the church. Well, I think I made Kathy mad. She deleted my last comment (which was fair, she left the other comments) and told me I should post my own blog. Well, I doubt I'll get the debate on my blog that she had going on hers, but I figured I'd give it a go anyhow. My personal points are: 1. Even though I think homosexuality is nasty(can't think of a better word), in God's eyes it is no worse than adultry, dunkeness, murder, theft, or any other sin. Jesus died for all sin. All the sin of the world.
2. Just because you prefer unnatural sexual relations to natural doesn't make you a sinner, it's acting on those temptations. Same with someone who is hetero sexual. Jesus said that if you looked at a woman to lust after her you have commited sin. I imagine if you looked at someone of the same sex or at an animal to lust after it I imagine it's still sin. But just to be tempted by unnatural or even natural sexual relations is not sin. As one preacher said, you can't stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can prevent it from making a nest in your hair.
3. Jesus called us to Love. Even though I might think homosexcuality is nasty I am still called to love the sinner. Homosexuality cannot send you to hell, anymore than beer, loose women or any other sin. It's simply by rejecting Jesus Christ as our Savior. Just because we disagree with one's life style doesn't mean we have any right to judge anyone outside of the church. And if someone in the church falls into sin and repents, then it is our duty to forgive. People should have reason to believe the church is just as ready to love and forgive as Christ does forgive and love.
4. If you give your sinful lifestyle a fancy name (ie: saying that you are a homosexual) and use that as an excuse for your sin, and refuse to repent, then you ought to be treated by the church as a non-believer. Even if you don't give your sin a fancy name but refuse to repent, then the church should teat you as a non-believer. If you repent, the church should forgive.
Well, there it is. I look forward to your comments. Hopefully they will be well thought out and interesting. I look forward to the debate (if we can get one going). Good day and God bless. P.S. Hope to hear from Kathy herself.
