heres another live review jesus fans!

It is almost impossible to understand why this band does not have a record label and a huge following. Every single one of their songs tonight is brilliantly written and performed with energy and passion.

Each member of the band is incredibly talented, and all four members meld together into a kind of melting pot of music which results in incredible songs that audience members want to sing to, dance to and absorb through every pore.

The vocalist, Rob Derbyshire, has a huge vocal range which allows him to sing with an immense amount of power – matched by the talented guitarist Dan Moores who supplies Rob with incredible riffs and melodies for him to bounce off – both vocally and physically, it seems, as he dances on stage. It is easy to see, especially during set finisher "Sold" how these two interact so well together, the musical chemistry and energy is amazing to watch.
One cannot forget the other two members, however. Strong, confident and quick drumming from Nick Jackson backed by perfectly executed basslines from Nick Davies support the songs and complete them – leaving the finished product to get full marks every time.

Songs such as "Birds Eye View" and "Dreamcatcher" are packed with climax after climax, and the former especially leaves me almost breathless as I feel like I've followed the song up and up to its crescendo.

I would recommend anybody with a desire to see powerful, strong, good quality rock music performed to go and see this band – you will be astounded.

this from a New Sound Music event in Skelmersdale

Jesus In India were also newcomers to a New Sound Music event and their main players are Nick J on drums, Dan on guitar, Nick D on bass (plus soundcheck vocals. Cheers, sir!) and Rob on vocals (and painkillers). A solid set, which saw every band member stretched to capacity, ensured a welcoming audience reaction.

It would be easy to note the comparisons, musically at least, to a more melodic Nirvana but also lazy.

Don't Look Back, for example, may possess the ubiquitous driving rock beat, yet it also contains a Television-esque riff coupled with a confident soaring vocal. Of course they ran out of demos by the end of the evening.

And so a very contented and thoroughly prepared crowd roared their approval as Shaughnessy took to the stage.

Jesus In India

Jesus In India claim 'Prince meets Nirvana' is their blueprint, seemingly resulting in slightly grungy rock with a hint of funk. The terrifying implications of that mix are thankfully not expressed on record, with first track 'Sold' in possession of a great riff, more in keeping with Incubus-meets-Skunk Anansie (minus Skin, obviously).
The vocals have a definite Brandon Boyd sound and, while it makes Incubus comparisons more obvious, this is no bad thing. 'Don't Look Back' initially heads off into the kind of odd territory 80s Matchbox usually occupy before dropping into a funk guitar verse and a heavy chorus, that Prince / Nirvana combo in action! All in all it's good stuff, well produced and well worth a listen. You could definitely dance to this

We need a bass player. If you think the band you are in is rubbish and would like to be in a good band, send us a message. North West England based. The basslines already exist for the songs and we need them to be exactly as recorded, this is how we are a super tight band! Dedication and loyalty essential. No egos please, Dan's is big enough for four people.
