Here is the news you have been waiting for …

The New Album by blindside will be released worldwide in the first half of 2010

Recording will take place in Los Angeles in September with
Grammy-nominated producer and longtime friend: Mr. Howard Benson

Blindside will perform at two events in the states this year
Aug 29 – Las Vegas, NV               Exit Festival
Sept 5 – Albuquerque, NM          Freedom Fest

There won’t be any other dates as all focus will go into the recording
right now but there are already plans for a full World Tour along with
the release of the new album.

The reason we have not informed you or anyone else what we’ve been up
to lately is simple:
We wanted to have something really great to announce.

For the last 5 years it has been quite silent around this band.
We have not disappeared from the face of the earth.
Since our last full length album The Great Depression we have played
in 5 different continents of the world. We’ve done tours with Linkin
Park and AFI and we’ve played some of the biggest festivals in Europe.
We have had a great time exploring new places and making new friends.
But we have also missed our dear friends in the US who made us what we
are today.

Due to a label dispute we were not able to release the album we had
planned for 2007.
We spent the last two years refocusing on our family-life since we’ve
spent so much of the last 10 years being away on the road.

Last year we had a band-meeting about the future of the band. We
decided that either we:
a)      quit
b)      make the best album of our career.

The result of 5 years of blindside writing new music will be surfaced
in early 2010.

Hello Promotions Crew!

Everyone in the Promotions Crew office is very excited that the Treasures Benefit is only two days away. Treasures is such an amazing ministry.

As you know Promotions Crew is one big family and this event brings together so much of our family for an amazing ministry and we love it. Treasures, Pigeon John (by the way for those that don't know Harmony of Treasures is Pigeon John's wife), Rootbeer, and Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D.

The Reality of What Treasures is About and Who They Help

Pigeon John recently had this to say about Treasures...

"Treasures is an outreach and support group for women in sex industry. They share love and time to those that may be hurting, those that may seemed trapped in the industry. All proceeds goes directly to Treasures to keep them afloat and moving!"

Here are a couple of email excerpts from girls that Treasures has personally effected....

"I'm so excited to report that I've 100% left the industry! It's been 4 months since I've stepped foot in there. It's been a long road getting here, but so worth it! In the process, I had to leave an unhealthy 6-year relationship... and change just about every aspect of my life. They weren't kidding when they said you must die to your old life when you come to Christ. ; ) It's crazy to look back....I don't even recognize my life anymore! Thank you for your help and support, it means so much to me!"

"I turned my life around 2 years ago! Recently I began seeing how I needed to face my past and be completely healed. I know God will use my past to bring other girls to Him...I started listening to the teaching cds you have on your site...I was SO excited when I saw that you had a series because it's TOTALLY God answering my prayers. I know God is faithful to fully heal and restore me! So I just wanted to say THANK YOU."

Some simple yet very real facts about The Sex Industry.....

More women are employed by the sex industry than at any other time in history.  There are nearly 2,700 strip clubs in the United States alone, more than any other nation in the world.





Overwhelming research indicates that large proportions of women in the sex industry have been sexually and physically abused as children. 

The bottom line, women working in the sex industry often come from backgrounds of brokenness, disadvantage and abuse and many are desperately seeking assistance and support to live the healthy, flourishing lives they were created to live.

How Can I Support? Where Does The Money Go?

If you live in Southern California you can come out to the event, not only does 100% of ticket sales go to support Treasures but there will also be a silent auction with all proceeds of that also supporting treasures.






Each year, the Treasures Team gives out more than 6,000 gift bags to women in 170 strip clubs in Los Angeles and Orange County as well as Las Vegas. All gift bags, peer mentoring services, books, resources, support, and referrals are provided to the women free of charge. Treasures operates as a faith-based nonprofit organization funded completely by donations.

I just wanted to jot down some thoughts of something amazing that God worked out....

Harmony was on Tyra yesterday, but of course there are things God did that they didn't show on Trya. The whole situation just had me so blessed, just an awesome reminder of how amazing things turn out when we let God take control of the situation.

As I watched the show yesterday I had no idea what to expect, I knew Harmony was just one of the guests and that it wasn't about Treasures, but simply about her being out of the sex industry. I hadn't asked Harmony about it or anything.

On the show was a prostitute who wanted out of prostitution, her kids had been taken away, her life is a mess etc.... Tyra talked to her, other guests encouraged her, the show offered her help and she agreed to get help. She agreed to take them up on their offer to send her to a center. Then on the commercial break we find out the girl didn't go to treatment.

I was super bummed when the show pop's up the little box that said after the show was finished taping she changed her mind and didn't go. Which always happens on those kinds of shows. They agree to it on camera, they say they want help but then we find out things haven't changed.

But then a couple hours after it aired I get an email, Harmony sent the following update about the situation out to the Treasures list..

For those of you that have watched, (or are about to watch) the Tyra Show today, here is an update on the amazing woman you all saw on the show.

The night before the taping, I "just so happened" to bump into her in the hotel lobby. We spent some really special time talking and praying together. I was won over by her tenacious spirit and her heart's cry to leave a life of prostitution behind. I could truly identify with so much of her pain.

On the show, she agreed to go to a one-month program in CA and we were all happy for the bold steps she was taking in her life.

After the cameras stopped rolling, more of this incredible story unfolded. I was at the airport, getting ready to head back to LA when she called me, saying that she felt a strong connection with me. She said really wanted to go to a faith-based program and asked if I knew of any other residential programs that could take her.

I immediately called my friend Julie with Beauty From Ashes and we were able to secure her a spot at the New Life Center there in FL!!!! This is a long-term, faith-based residential program with an 100% success rate of reuniting children with their mothers when custody has been lost.

I am so thrilled to report that today, more than a month later, this incredible young woman is still in the program and thriving! The journey ahead of her will take commitment, but I am fully convinced that she is equipped, ready and able to conquer what lies ahead of her in God's strength! I know that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask, think or imagine!

When I read this I was just reminded as I am reminded daily, that God's plans are always bigger. Harmony and this women didn't just happen to meet the day before in the lobby. This whole thing, happened because that was God's plan. He sent Harmony to speak to her, to be a light, to encourage, to be that example of a changed life that only happens when the Savior is molding you.

I am so thankful that Harmony continues to be obedient to her Savior! I am so blessed to know that HIS will is always done. Pray for Harmony, pray for Treasures and all the girls God places in the teams path daily. That all those that feel trapped by the sex industry would know they are loved, a treasure, and a child of GOD and that they don't have to be in bondage any more.

Oh and a side note, Harmony said that the show did know she went to another facility, and that she is doing well...it just wasn't their facility. So sad, you would think they would just be happy the woman is getting help.
