Why starving yourself is not a good idea. How many times when you thought about losing weight did you or a friend starve themselves thinking that would help when losing weight? Yes you can lose scale weight with this tactic but as quickly as you lose it you can gain it back and some. Get it through your head that scale weight is not the most important, your body fat is. Some people rely on Bmi as an accurate measurement when figuring out how healthy they are. My Bmi tells me I’m obese even though my body fat is 5%, lol. So my whole point here is focus on losing body fat and gaining muscle not stepping on the scale. If your losing inches and building muscle then you are going in the right direction. Starving yourself is one of the worst things you can do when trying to lose fat weight. Ok ill explain how your body works. You are burning calories 24 hours per day even when you sleep. If throughout the day while you are awake you are not putting adequate calories in your body your body responds by burning muscle as energy then the next meal you eat gets stored as a survival reaction as fat storage. So when you starve yourself you will not only be burning muscle and gaining fat weight you will be lowering your metabolism which means every minute of the day you are burning less calories and in time your body becomes fatter and unhealthier. Is this an eye opener or what? So what can you do to make sure you are eating enough to not burn muscle but not eat too much where you are gaining bad weight? Here are 6 tips: Eat every 2-3 hours throughout the day Eat only till your satisfied never till your full Check your body fat 1-2 times per month 4-5 days per week cardio of 250-750 calories per day 3-5 days per week of weightlifting Always remember its better to eat something then nothing at all, just make the meal or snack a healthy choice Balance- Do not overeat, Do not under eat, Both lead to fat gain Hope everyone has a great weekend !!!! This Month Diana and I were both featured on dualing covers for the Kansas City Fitness Magazine ( www.kcfitmag.com) Inside i wrote a feature called 9 key ways to crush stress. We all deal from day to day controllable and uncontrollable stressors. Sometimes it becomes such habit that we sometimes overlook things and never take care of the negative that is right in front of us. Here are my 9 key ways of eliminating the Stress FOREVER 1. CUT NEGATIVES- Cut the controllable negatives out of your life, People, Places and Things. SOmetimes it is hard to do but once they are gone your life becomes much easier and stress free 2. WORKING ON YOUR FITNESS- Working out is one of the BEST stress relievers. If you are having tension at work or at home go bust your tail in the gym. Hours later you feel much better and sleep like a baby. 3. EAT TO LIVE- Putting good and healthy foods in your body is the key to feeling and look good. 4. THINK HAPPY BE HAPPY- With a happy mind -set the stress will be crushed. Wkae every morning and tell yourself you are happy and going to have a great day. 5. HELPING- There is no better feeling in the world then helping others. 6. POSITIVE PEOPLE- Keep positive people around you who are supportive, these people love you and want to be there for you 7. RELAX- Take time each day to relax mentally, could be taking a walk or listening to your favorite music alone. 8. BALANCE- Find a balance between, Work, Play and Family. Everything in life needs balance, you cannot eliminate stress 100% but you can control most of it with balance. 9. SMILE- If all else fails SMILE, simply put, Smiling is contagious.. TRY IT!!! You are the only one that can make change. Maybe all this goes in one ear and out the other. Some of you need to wake up and realize you are in the situation you are in because you have not taken back the control that you should have. YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY, HEALTHY AND STRESS FREE!!

LOOK AT CAROL NOW!!!! In only 3 month Carol lost 13.6% bodyfat , shed away 21 lbs of fat. This is one of the Best Female Transformations I have ever been apart of. Carol accomplished this on a balance diet and a ton of hard work. These sorts of numbers are better then what most Men get in 12 weeks.. That is more than 1% bodyfat per week.. AMAZING!!!! My name is Carol Schumer and I’m 31 years old. I’ve always considered myself to be an active person. I typically made it to the gym at least three times a week and like a lot of other women, my main focus was on cardio – only incorporating weight lifting from time to time. I knew weights were an important part of a workout, however I never felt confident that I was doing the right exercises to get the best use of my time. I often asked my husband for advice, but generally hadn’t found a workout program that really stuck with me. Needless to say I wasn’t making any progress and I was more or less stuck in a cardio rut. It was around my birthday this year when began to take a positive turn. My husband and I made the decision to start the Hitch Fit program with Micah. We found out about Micah and his amazing transformations through family and friends. Needless to say we’d heard nothing but great things about him and were very pumped to get started. Having never worked with a personal trainer before, I was excited by the possibilities and a bit nervous about what would be expected of me. To be honest, part of me was a bit skeptical as to whether or not I could be successful with his program. For that reason, I decided it might be best to keep my little transformation under wraps for the time being.
My first workout with Micah was one that I will never forget. I’d thought that I had pushed myself in the past and knew my limits pretty well…I was absolutely mistaken. Within the first 30 minutes I had not only reached my limit, I was well past it. Micah pushed me to a point that I had never believed possible and I haven’t been the same since. It wasn’t until I began training with Micah that I realized I had just been going through the motions at the gym. I wasn’t challenging myself and had become too comfortable in my routine. The feeling of accomplishment and the empowerment that you get when you break that mental boundary you’ve placed on your abilities is indescribable. I’ve realized that I was selling myself short and that I have another level of intensity that I hadn’t even known was there. Through this process I have truly changed as a person. The physical transformation is nice of course, but it is the mental aspect that is the most important and unexpected. I’m stronger, more focused and have a new found confidence in my abilities. The lessons I’ve learned through this experience extend far outside the walls of the gym and are relevant to my every day life. If I am successful in overcoming challenges I thought impossible at the gym, the challenges I’m faced with in everyday life no longer seem as difficult to overcome. In the end, you will only get as much out of this experience as you put into it. It takes a lot of hard work and it requires you to live outside of your comfort zone. It’s your life and your choice to take charge and make a positive change. Are you ready for your Transformation and Be apart of the Hitch Fit Success Stories.. Are you letting the Past control your Future? In times things that happen in the past shape our future and who we are but negative things happening can also keep you from being who you are. I always explain things by saying road A or road B. When something negative happens do you run to make another negative choice such as drinking or eating a carton of ice cream? How about you go to the gym and punch away on a boxing bag cook yourself some good healthy food and focus on the positive things in your life. The negatives always have a way of working themselves out by YOU CUTTING THEM OUT. I got in a very bad car accident at the High of my career in 2005. I had just been on the Reality TV Manhunt with Carmen Electra, I had landed the cover of Men's workout and was planning on moving to La to further my career and in a glimpse of a second BOOM my dreams were taken away. Everything I had worked so hard for was taken away. I couldn't workout; I started making bad choices with my diet and my lifestyle. The snowball of negativity leads to the feeling of Rock Bottom. In this instance I choice Road B the road that leads to nothing but more negative. About 9 months later I finally started feeling up to working out again but what was my reasoning, I had fallen off the planet, I had lost my body and was no longer getting booked for jobs. That was the day I looked in the mirror and said enough is enough, I knew all along that was not me; this lifestyle was not me it was a waste of life and would only lead to negativity. I wanted growth and positive again so I made the choices that would help get me there. I cut every single negative person, place and changed my lifestyle. Slowly I was getting myself, my body and my life back. Out of nowhere the cover of Muscle and Body came out with Jennifer Nicole Lee (ab circle pro girl) and I on it. This got me back in the mix and really helped me see that at any moment it can be taken away so never take it for granted. Are you that person that maybe went through a tough divorce and feels like they could never trust again? Are you the person that had a baby 3 years ago and still make the excuse that you are overweight because women's bodies never get back to where they were post pregnancy? Are you the main provider in the house and you lost your job through the tough economical times? Each situation is unique in its own but each one can be taken care of to help make your life more positive again If you are still holding on to things that you know are keeping you from reaching your goals or making your life better you need to sit down and ask yourself a question, Ready.. AM I WORTH IT? Ask yourself that, the answer should always be the same YES. So what can you do to get that negative past out of your life. Here are a few things 1. Accept the fact of what has happened 2. Forgive yet never forget 3. Start eliminating the negatives 4. Surround yourself around positive people 5. Start taking care of your body, mind and spirit 6. Tell yourself you can do this I BELIEVE IN YOU. What is most important though is that you believe in yourself. Tell yourself you can accomplish anything and in time you will. Hope you have a great upcoming weekend Micah LaCerte Hitch Fit www.hitchfit.net

IN ONLY 3 MONTHS CRAIG CHANGED INTO A NEW PERSON INSIDE OUT.. AMAZING!!! CRAIG LOST 37 LBS OF FAT, 15% BODYFAT AND REACHED HIS GOAL OF GETTING ROCK HARD 6 PACK ABS.. My name is Craig Schumer and I’m 32 years old. You probably wouldn’t know it from my before pictures but I have lead a pretty active lifestyle. I played soccer growing up and the gym has always been a big part of my life. For the past couple years my workouts have been focused primarily on strength. I wanted to move as much weight as I could every time I was in the gym. Heavy weight with low reps and I incorporated very little cardio into my workouts. Over the last two year I’ve seen some significant strength gains. However, I wasn’t getting the visual results I wanted. I was lifting harder then I ever had and thought I was making decent diet choices. I chalked it up to the fact that my body had slowed down with age. My time had past and I accepted the fact that I wasn’t going to have the lean physique anymore. My wife (who looked fantastic) was also active at the gym but wasn’t happy with the results she was getting. She had been asking me for help with her workouts for quite some time. Although I know how to workout and I’m comfortable at the gym, I’m no trainer. I began looking for a way to help her and heard about Micah and his Hitch Fit program through some friends and family. After a few conversations with Micah, I didn’t know if I believed that I could get the results he talked about, but I definitely wanted to believe him. My wife and I felt like it was time to make some changes and we wanted to get the results that Micah saw were possible. A lot of people focus on the external benefits of living healthy and being fit. I’m not going to lie to you – I set out to make these changes to look better and now I walk a little slower when I pass a mirror and I definitely have the shirt off when I mow the yard ? but the way I look now is not the most significant of the benefits. There is no way to describe how pushing yourself, achieving your fitness goals and making healthy decisions will make you feel but it spills over into every part of your life. This experience has given my wife and I a shared passion that has brought us even closer and a new focus and energy to every part of our lives. We can’t thank Micah enough for seeing the possibility, inspiring us to make the change and giving us the tools to make us successful. There is no magic pill to get results but there are a few things that I’ve learned through my transformation that have helped me. Set specific goals, with a time frame and say it out loud - I was around 230 lbs. and over 20% body fat. When Micah told me that he thought I could get below 10% and see my abs in 12 weeks I laughed and thought others would laugh as well. It’s easy to think about a goal but it becomes real when you say it out loud. In my opinion, this is the hardest first step due to the fear of failure that we all have. We’re scared to tell people around us what our goals are because we might not accomplish them. The truth is, when you set a goal and say it out loud you begin to develop your own support group and put positive pressure on yourself to stay focused. Push outside your comfort zone - Before this experience I would never have considered working with a personal trainer. It just wasn’t me. It sounds like common sense, but a lot of us don’t seem to realize that when you keep doing the same thing, you’re going to keep getting the same results. I know now that it sometimes takes someone else to see what is possible and it’s your personal trainers’ job to push you harder then you would on your own. When you train with a personal trainer you start to surprise yourself every time you go to the gym by doing one more rep, sprinting a little faster or running a little further then you did last week. I don’t mean to say that I will (or you should) work with a trainer the rest of my life. I’m at a point now where I feel like I push myself further every day and I’ve surrounded myself with positive pressure. However, I wouldn’t have gotten here with out Micah and I’m sure there will come a day that I get comfortable and need to be pushed again. Write it down - Keep a journal that includes your workouts, cardio and your daily diet. I thought I had a decent diet. Micah encouraged me to keep a journal. What I learned was that there was a significant difference between how I thought I was feeding my body and what was actually occurring. Losing weight and getting lean is depriving yourself. A journal helps you to identify what you need and then hold yourself accountable Put the scale away – By itself, your weight means absolutely nothing. A guy that weighs 200 pounds with 15% body fat is going to look completely different then a guy weighing 200 pounds with 5% body fat. Additionally, when I weigh myself first thing in the morning, eat a clean and healthy diet all day and then weigh myself before I go to bed, I typically gain 3 – 6 pounds. Our bodies weight changes all the time for a variety of reasons. If you’re constantly stepping on the scale you’re going to drive yourself crazy.

BRENT SURE LOOKS LIKE ONE NOW Brent came to me wanting to get in better shape and feel great. As you can see from his after pictures he is smiling big. Diana and I both told him he looked like something out of a magazine or a Abercrombie Model. Great job Buddy. Brent lost 7% Bodyfat, lost 13 lbs of Fat and gained 13lbs of Muscle My name is Brent Peterson, and I’m 32 years old. I’m the proud, happy father of a three-year-old daughter, and soon, hopefully, we’ll be able to add another child to our family. That being said, my life has changed pretty drastically over the last few years. Time, at my age, right now seems to act a lot like an enemy. There never seems to be enough of it, and it often feels filled with chaos, work, constant appointments, events, and things to-do. As a result, who has time to take care of themselves? Right? Maybe it was after my birthday that I took a good look at myself, and decided that things weren’t looking too good, positively. Physically, I didn’t look the same. I had gained a few pounds mainly in my mid-section; I had to buy a size larger in my jeans. Mentally, I was exhausted and pulled in different directions. In my business I have a hard time saying “No.!” I can’t recall when the last time was that I did, in fact. I knew Micah from working and living on Union Hill. I contacted him because I wasn’t happy with my daily routine. I was starting to fear that what I was doing was going to become a lifelong routine. That scared me because I knew I wasn’t living a healthy, or fit lifestyle. When I first met with Micah I quickly discovered that I had made a good choice in finding a “coach.” Micah didn’t want to put me on a YEAR-long program. He didn’t expect me to train for months and months to achieve my goal. I was instantly motivated by his encouragement to meet my goals within 12 weeks time! To me, a person who has had personal trainers before, I felt these were sweet words. Mainly because I’ve had trainers who wanted to keep me for 5 months, 6 months, with no goal in sight. My first workout with Micah, after the discussion of diet, nutrition, and confessions of unhealthy eating, I will never forget! The only pause in the workout, or rest, came when I demanded it, when I needed to wipe the sweat away or grab a drink of water. It was the first of many intense workouts that I never imagined my body could take on. I left that first workout and a switch had been flipped in my mind and my body. I was going to change my life, and I had found the right guy to give me the motivation to get started and give me the education to continue on and maintain a routine for my betterment. To my friends and clients I described each session as “High Intensity” workouts. Workouts that stressed muscle groups to their point of exhaustion. And all of this resulted in a feeling of greatness: to work a muscle group to the point of exhaustion. Which to me meant success, and gratification! To have warm muscles, “jello-like” muscles when you get into your car in the parking lot, after an intense workout. I have a new found clarity when it comes to nutrition, thanks to Micah’s education and suggestions. And I get excited about talking about it with others. So many of us don’t realize what we’re eating is unhealthy. Or we know it’s unhealthy, but we don’t think it could be too bad for us! I no longer skip breakfast. Something I did very often. Now every morning, I love making protein pancakes with my daughter, or egg whites, which she loves too! I met my goal after training with Micah for 11 weeks. I look at my reflection in the mirror and I’m happy to see that my six-pack has no longer spilt, but now it’s coming back! I now have new goals that include a triathlon and a 5K this fall! My daughter is now excited to join me at the gym (In the Kids Play Center), and therefore, encourages me to go there myself! So, I have to extend a HUGE thank you to Micah. He has changed my life. Yes, CHANGED MY LIFE. I now feel excited about eating healthy and remaining fit, so that I can prolong my life, and feel good with every year to come! Micah lives Fitness. It’s his passion. He is inspiration and motivation for living a better life. I’m proud of his accomplishment of seeing HITCHFIT become a reality. And now he can change others’ lives as well. In the meantime, I’ll use what I’ve learned on a daily basis, and I’ll continue to pass out his business card! ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR TRANSFORMATION? IN AS LITTLE AS 3 MONTHS YOU CAN BE CHANGED FOREVER!!!! WWW.HITCHFIT.COM

I want you to stop stepping on the scale everyday to determine if you are losing weight. This may be a reason you quit working out or eating right because you are determining your progress by scale weight alone. Here is something I want you to try. Hop on the scale real quick, write that number down. Now go drink 32 ounces of water along with a meal. Now go hop on the scale again, you just gained 2-4 lbs, maybe you use the restroom right after the 2nd scale weight then hop back on, 2lbs lighter Our body fluctuates throughout the day because of fluids and food we are putting in our body. You can gain 2-5 lbs throughout the day depending when you weight yourself. So weight yourself right when you wake up to get your most accurate number. Scale weight is not the most important factor but it is how most people determine success. The most important thing is lowering your body fat. As your body fat decreases your over weight will decrease but you are losing fat and not sacrificing muscle. Many people starve their selves to success or some fad diet that gives you unrealistic expectations. You hop on a scale and you are 20 lbs lighter because you have deprived yourself for the last 4 weeks from calories, carbs and fat. You may have lost some fat amd inches but a majority of your weight will be lost in muscle. Within 1 month you will gain it all back. When we drop muscle our metabolism decreases, energy levels bottom out and that sluggish feeling starts to surround you. Why feel down and depressed when you can feel energized and happy? Here is what I want you to do. STAY FULL ALL DAY LONG eating small healthy meals throughout the day and watch the lbs fall off. 10 ways to lose weight the healthy way 1. Write down everything you are eating 2. Schedule out your meals throughout the day to eat every 2-3 hours 3. Make sure to workout 4-7 days a week for at least 30-45 minutes 4. Cut all the bad foods out of your diet which include, fried, high sugars, limit white starchy carbs 5. Drink Water. Staying hydrated is important for muscle repair and increasing your metabolism 6. Eat the healthy and yummy stuff. Chicken breast, fish, turkey, veggies, oats, egg whites, protein shakes ect. 7. Set yourself some goals “I want to lose 15 lbs this month and 4% bodyfat” 8. Check your Body fat every month. Losing 3-6% is good per month 9. Write down all the calories you are burning per day on cardio 10. Think healthy and you will be healthy Hope you have a wonderful day and please contact me if you ever have any questions or are ready for change in your life. Micah LaCerte
