Hey Sergils, Our drummer, AJ aka Guns 'Blather' McQueen, has decided to leave the band and country to try a life out in Hong Kong. While we’re gutted, we insist he must do this or face endless taunts and genital mutilation. I assure you that means we wish him all the best! If you’re keen to hear something that ‘Blather’ and ‘The Judas Of Bass’ have recently done, I recommend reading this little spill from ‘Blather’: It's time to rock the mic with the Stale Beer Stains latest release: Jappy Depp Latency Issue/Problem a.k.a Fat Mohammad Ali.
The Stale Beer Stains proclaim to bring you tears, laughter and joy in the latest fucked-up, whacked-out, shove it up your mum's cake hole experience on the block. Dust off your old Sega Saturn console because Jappy is bringing in the big guns with eight balls a plenty. Be ready for fun, Jappy Style Mother Fuckers. -
http://www.archive.org/details/JappyDeppLatencyIssue Before he leaves, we’re recording and then (optimistically) releasing an album and 7” (a real one). We’ve been playing hard, getting things done demo-wise and generally feeling positive about what we’d be putting out. We’ve got some label interest, you’ll hear about that when we consider it necessary. There are at least two shows that will be the final ones AJ will be at in the foreseeable future. The first one will be the most underground of events on the 16th of January with TheDownGoing and Grannyfist, it's above The Spanish, Top Floor 88 Liverpool St, Sydney. Doors open 8:30pm. It's BYO and All Ages. The second will be a massive gig on Australia Day Weekend. Both dates are confirmed with the line up for AusDay to be announced. Pencil them in, you must consider them important. We're looking to book an instore gig as well. The rest of us will continue as a band, maybe even with ‘Blather’ in some way, just more than likely not in the way that you’re used to… maybe we’ll be more active (doubt it). Here’s a reminder that Mother Eel vsNickelback, the virtual 7”, has been re-released due to its popularity. It was re-mastered, has new artwork and liner notes. Head here to check it out: http://www.archive.org/details/vsNICKELBACK It is in it’s Depleted Uranium Edition that has a limited half life of approximately 4.5 billion years. Get in quick! Thanks for reading and passing it on, if you do. You better be at those shows or you’ll never know…

Hey Sergils! We've been busy rehearsing for recording, doing some recording, listening to recording and arguing about recording. It's so much fun that we thought you should be able to listen to pretty much everything we've put out (thanks to Crypt Designers Guild). To that end I'll be putting up several new players with pretty much all our stuff and you can download everything. I'm lazy, so it may be one every week or something. I assume that's how it works, if not... here's some links to the pages!
Why Do You Think?: http://www.archive.org/details/CDGelements007
So I encourage you to download, listen and then pass the information on, so more can download the load and Lennon will be happy. I also recommend checking out the various other things up for download on CDG.
We would have had some quotes from a zine about how good our stuff is, but I cant find the page anymore (50 Pages Of Marduk Zine), so I'm going to make some up that I'm sure aren't biased or misleading!!
"Mother Eel will go on to influence a whole new generation of Music! These releases are some of the greatest!" "Probably some of the most underground gold mined to date, get out of the disco and to a Mother Eel show!" "If I had a chance I'd sell my kids and give the proceeds to this band so that they can have little children of their own and then they'll make great music!" "I farted... Mother Eel is pretty darn good!" Another thing to do with recording: here's an extreme demo of one of our songs...
http://corporatemanifestations.com/?p=103
We've also got a gig coming up, it'll prove our current standing as number 1 of things. The other bands that are playing are also pretty good.
I drew that, I'm a hero in the pants of the very little. Hope to see you there, hope you listen to things, hope you make up your own mind about stuff, hope is not wasted on the weak, Nathan, Mother Eel
PS wtf? I'm not even drunk yet...

Today was a celebration of our drummer's birth, which is actually tomorrow or something. He's old according to the girls on the train on Friday night. Well, one was saying that it's not that old, "25 is really old, it's like a quarter of a century". AJ wanted to subject his friends to some noise, so got the band to play a few tunes in his basement thing. Only one mic had a stand, both mics were run through 10w amps. There was a fair amount of feedback and Tom's lead kept fucking up. There might be some photos to put on the fridge. Good gig! Thanks to Aurora, Bec, Huw, Jarrod, Jesse, Mel, Sara and Steve for coming. The set list we played was: If You've Got No Hangbag, You've Got Nothing Death Is Fine Give Me Mine Cyanide Clown Pig Ejaculation My Little Brother Does Well With The Ladies Rip The Shit From My Throat Don't Think Just Swallow Mayonnaise Arsehole Metro = Homo Aim Younger, Aim Dumber Fuck It And Leave Another Face For Beating Rooting The Dumb Listen To The Elderly For They Have Much To Teach

And I mean ever: any era, any album*. First up in the world of Mother Eel we've been getting hit on by heaps of Europeans. Yeah, the sexy people of the world!! Ok, everybody is kind of sexy, but everybody has kind of been invaded by some European country. This country is built and only just survives on immigration. Here's a link to a review of our CD "Short & Greasy"... hope you like Polish! http://atmospheric.pl/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2123&Itemid=2 That guy is sick, he is really into his underground promotion stuff. I believe there'll be a review of AJ's side project Kontoh's CD at some point as well. Recently we played a show in North Richmond. It was all ages, it was gold coin cheap, it had heaps of 8 year old children, it was the first official gig with our new member Bother Agony, it was filmed!! Basically there were a bunch of other bands playing, they were mostly pop punk styled stuff, all catchy and cute. Most of the kids were running around with super soakers and what not, having a good time. Just before we got onstage there was an impromptu performance by a girl with her acoustic guitar, best way to get a crowd ready for us. We get on, set up and nobody seems to care. By the time we click the distortion on and starting screaming we've got everybody either out of the place** or they are all sitting down on the grass in awe! Thanks to Jesse, Jarrod, Bec, Aurora, Heather, Audrey, Chris and his two cohorts, Renae, Cameron, Metal Matt, Redbeard and Clare for coming. Thanks to those that let this happen and got us on the stage!! I've been running a youtube account: http://www.youtube.com/AusgrindtubeThe whole gig is up there, or look below, if it works*** I've got all the videos below. There are also videos of bands like Seperatist, Thy Art Is Murder, May, Brazen Bull, Code Of Lies etc. Anyway, here are the videos in order of the set. Nothing is cut out, not that there's really any need. I recommend turning the volume on the videos down, we play fucking loud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IDwKJFCBGshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnuOz7A6gCkhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr6F9e_iB08http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6o45PO4v8IThe set list is: Listen To The Elderly For They Have Much To Teach The Erection Of Pain Aim Younger, Aim Dumber Fuck It And Leave Another Face For Beating Mayonnaise Arsehole Rooting The Dumb Metro = Homo Thanks for reading. We'll see you sometime soonish, maybe. Nathan, Mother Eel *Not that it's a competition, nobody into heavy music actually likes this band right? Also, we're that much better we even encourage you to upload and download our stuff. **They might have actually left while we played the sample of Christian Bale swearing his head off... ***Tell me what I'm doing wrong, or should be doing!!

Haldo Sergils! We're happy to announce our first show for the year. It's an All Ages event, apart of Youth Week and should be rad awesome. We'll be playing a fairly new and furious set and hopefully getting some people to film it, then I'll put it up on AusGrindTube (link below). Rock Across The River 04/04/2009 North Richmond Community Centre Grounds, 33 William Street, North Richmond, NSW Starts Midday Ends Around 4-5pm Playing: My name 4 your name, None the Less, Mother Eel, Mothers Own, Same Old Story and Sky Circuit. Gold Coin Entry. All Ages.

You can also listen to some of the bands playing (including our track Transvestite Surprise) at this here site. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=118145158 We've recently added a new member to our group. He is known as Brother Agony and his picture is attached. He'll be doing computer processing and vocals. If you've been to two certain shows you may have seen him perform alongside us. He's even been mentioned in previous blogs... (you mean you aren't reading them? That's what they want you to do, that's how they know they're winning!) AJ has been making music under the alias Kontoh. It's up for free download at this site. http://www.archive.org/details/crypt-designers-guild The site also includes the two CD compilation of the Webzine I write for (Sordid Zine). It also has various other artists up there, some do computer processing (cos I know you want to get an idea for what that is). He had a review of one of his albums which used the talent of Tom and I. Read it here. http://www.grindheadrecords.com/ausgrind/?p=686
We have been in contact with various European people. Should be getting some kind of reviews, interviews and other kinds of love from that part of the world at some point. That's right! Europe! You've been avoiding us, they've been sending us nudes! Take that you unappreciative scum!
Which reminds me... (not about getting nudes, well you could send them, but it's up to you, I'm not pushing it anymore. I'm comfortable with our relationship as it is.) It seems like a few people aren't sure how gigs are put together. Fair enough. It's a strange world. One thing I will comment on is the door person. When they ask you who you are there to see, they are doing it generally as a method to see who gets paid how much. The more who say a certain band at the door, the more money that band gets paid. I recommend picking whoever hasn't had as many people rock up, I've been to many gigs where every band is as good as each other, some have heaps of little strokes, others have none. They wouldn't be getting paid, some venues will be cunty enough to even get them to pay to play. Fuck that! So next gig, ask who's had the least amount of people say them, who cares if they end up being shit? At least they get to play and not have to do a runner (maybe they even get some money to cover the petrol used to drive to the gig). If Mother Eel are playing, ask "why?" then explain that the band are really shit and shouldn't be on any stage anywhere. That being said... anybody want to offer us gigs?
Please spread the word. Cheers, Nathan, Mother Eel www.myspace.com/mothereel http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/bands/Mother_Eel www.archive.org/details/sordid_zine-issue1 http://au.youtube.com/user/Ausgrindtube

I know that it's not manly to ask, but, well we're in need. You'll help yeah?
Basically the low down is that we're going to get a series of stickers made. The problem is, other than the logo, what should we have on the sticker? Crude images are cool and all, but kind of cliche and boring. We'd still need something that points out what we do though, right*?
What do you recommend, think, and otherwise have to say about it? Please send us suggestions. We'd be most grateful. The sticker would be 9cm x 5.4cm, not too big, not too small. *Maybe not. I'm a big fan of letting people think what they will about anything. If you're too shit to research things, then why should you be corrected/informed otherwise? So maybe just letting those who are into looking for things, do their thing, and the ignorant people can miss out...

Metal Cliche Line Greeting!! There's not heaps to say about much of anything really. And yet... there is? We're trialling a new member for the band. Probably the only person who'll ever be stupid enough to join a band that'll never go any where and do a poor job at that. If you were at the Lansdowne show, you'd have noticed a guy who insisted on giving Tom the finger (he also did some guest vocals). It's that kind of stage presence that really seperates a band from the masses. My advice is to come to the next show and see if he's there and what he does. "Next show? You haven't said anything about a next show?" So what? I assume that we'll be playing sometime in the future, even if we haven't announced anything yet. I haven't booked anything but will be looking to soon. Optimistically we'll be playing around April or after. "What!!!?? Why so far away? I'm so old as it is that I could be dead by then." We could all be dead. Who cares? Not like you're going to change your life. Face it, you're too scared for change, and your genitals smell odd. On the recording side of things: we've been trying to record about two albums of material (yeah, who knew we had that much stuff? well we did). The first album's music is done. It's all live, I think it's all pretty much one take too. That's how fucking awesome sick we are. The second album of stuff has been pushed back until we're good and ready to get back in the studio to do it. We should be doing vocals for the first one sometime soon elsewhere. The aim will be to have most or all material online, for free. This will be coupled with limited release hard copies that will be for sale at gigs, that'll give you scene cred. Another option is trying to get a split or two happening, but who and from where? AJ has been working on more stuff for his project "Kontoh". I'll be finishing my vocals for him soon enough. There's still his other stuff to download from the Crypt Designers Guild's website. I really want to rant about stuff and things, but will avoid it. It is futile. You make up your own mind. You always should. See you all at some gig somewhere... Nathan, Mother Eel
