Hey people! There are lots of things to inform you about. So, we had a pretty good and interesting stay in Tulsa recording last week. We lost our minds a little, but in the end, Tulsa is still standing, we still have our dignity, Kellen had a birthday bash that set a new standard, we (barely) managed a whole week in a hotel without being kicked out, and oh...we have ourselves 8 newly recorded songs! Many, many thanks go out to Chris Harris, Mike Salisbury. Brian Osborn, and most certainly Tommy Gittins, our British hero, for putting up with us, and for making everything turn out awesome. As far as a release date goes, it's kind of up in the air, but it'll be the early part of 2010 for sure, so stay tuned for any updates regarding that. The recordings sound amazing, and they aren't even close to being mixed and mastered yet. Since we ended up doing some extra songs that we hadn't really planned on, it's looking like our EP is probably going to be a full length instead! We are super excited. Moving on... The awesome people from Jabberbox TV came by on the last day of recording to shoot a little interview with us and some guys at the studio. It turned out pretty...interesting? Obviously, we were kind of losing it by then. Check it out: Hey, did you know that Electro Lounge now has a burger joint inside? Well, now you do. Go eat there! Oh, and this is extreeemely important: THE SPY RADIO IS RETURNING FULL TIME! That's right, our pal Ferris O'Brien and friends are returning to the airwaves full time on monday. 105.3fm. You need to listen, starting monday! This is by far the best radio station in central Oklahoma. Thank you everybody, stay tuned for more news and updates in the coming future. looooooooooove, -TPBC

Hello again friends!
This is it.... We've made it through October in one piece and we're on the last leg of our Autumn jaunt. Thank you for sticking with us along the way and coming to see us play. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy playing!
Down to business. We have two shows left in 2009 and they are....
FRIDAY OCTOBER 30TH @ SPEAKEASY IN OKC - TPBC, THE BOOM BANG, and MAYOLA - This is our very last show in OKC before recording. Mayola are an awesome staple of the OK music scene and they are not to be missed. We are EXTREMELY excited to play with some of our best friends in THE BOOM BANG as well! If you haven't seen them yet then you are certainly in for a wonderful surprise next Friday night. Not really sure what the cover is, but we do know it's 21+.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 31ST @ THE MOON IN FT WORTH, TX - THE BURNING HOTELS!!!! Our final show of the year... Who else to go out on a high note with then the always incredible guys from The Burning Hotels. We can't say enough about this band and how fantastic they are so don't take our word for it. Come out and see the best Halloween lineup of 2009!
This last bit is also important.... **WE'RE MAKING ROOM FOR NEW MERCH. ALL SHIRTS ARE BEING MARKED DOWN FROM $15 TO $10!** We'd love to send these out to people who've been contacting us for merch, but sadly we're not yet in a situation to really sell merch anywhere outside of shows. What does this mean? COME SEE US IN PERSON TO GET A DISCOUNTED SHIRT!
Hoping this finds you well, TPBC, x

Hey lovers!
Just a quick update: we've got NINE shows in the month of October so there is no excuse to miss us and make new friends and partially lose your hearing!
After our final show on Halloween, we will be going into hiding. Not like last time where we said we were going into hiding, but for real this time around. We have studio time blocked out and we'll be cutting our first official EP with the help of a few friends. Once that Halloween show ends it will mark the end of our fun and glorious first 10 months of existence. We will come back stronger, we will come back catchier, we will come back better. We plan on playing again sometime in early 2010, but not until then. Some things have really gone our way which we would love to share with you but for the sensitivity of the subject we can't divulge any information. What does this mean? Expect a very big 2010 for The Pretty Black Chains. All new songs, new sound, new merch, even.
See you on the other side and, as always, THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNRELENTING SUPPORT OF GOOD MUSIC!

Greetings and salutations! As always, thank you for your unrelenting support this summer. We're truly coming to form as we continue to write and play more shows. Thanks for everything. The main order of business is the DFEST Video. We recorded our show and chopped it down to a few songs we've deemed good enough to post. One is an old favorite in "King Faker" and the other is a brand new untitled song. Good times at the end for sure.
The last bit of news is that we've decided to release our newly recorded song, "Runaway" on Myspace today as a gift to you. It's an early mix but give it a listen! Love and Luck, TPBC x

Current mood: amorous
Hello to all friends old and new.
Things in the PBC camp are all smiles. After getting our name out there with other great local bands over the past few months, we are very glad to have this two month break. What will we be doing?
1. Obviously, writing new songs. We have four new songs that are currently being tinkered with. With a little work ethic we will easily have these songs finished soon.
2. Speaking of our next show..... DFEST!!! We are all very grateful for the opportunity to play alongside our friends The Burning Hotels, The Boom Bang, The City Lives, Mayola, Callupsie, The Uglysuit, and the loads of other artists accepted. We will be playing FRIDAY (July 24th) at MIDNIGHT @ Electric Circus (formerly Exit 6C)
3. More recording! We recorded a new song, with hopes of releasing it very soon along with other new songs to be recorded! On that note, we've been asked when we will be releasing an actual EP/LP. Well, at some point. That being said, our good friend Chris Harris (vocals/guitarist for DEPTH & CURRENT, as well as the legendary Subatomic Pieces) was kind enough to record our demo a few months back and we're very pleased with the result. Feel free to stop by our sonicbids.com/theprettyblackchains web page and pick those songs up for free.
4. Writing writing writing.
5. Kurt is getting another set of arms attached to his body to make his drumming even more intense, loud and cryptic.
6. Kellen recently had surgery to reduce the amount of times his eyes roll back in his head during a performance.
8. Chuck has purchased another distortion pedal for his bass in the hopes that, should you come to our show at DFEST, you will go partially deaf.
9. Derek, bless him, mustered the courage to turn his amp up three more notches, adding to the white noise in your head two days after our show. He's also getting a new tattoo as this is being written. Ask him about it!
10. Resting.
We hope to see you at DFest. If not at Dfest, then at our shows coming up at the end of this summer. Be on the lookout for anything PBC related around Oklahoma City (wink, wink). Things are about to get hectic.(?)...
With love, tPBC x
