Flat Affect and Bastard Child are taking a vacation.  I do not have the time right now to keep going, and the more I try to stay involved, the less I am able to enjoy the work I do.

Flat Affect and Bastard Child have both recently put out a few new releases on the net and on CD-r.  Check out Proc-Rec and Lo-fi/Sci-fi for more information.

If you just want to chat, e-mail me at flat.affect.noise@gmail.com  I don't want to lose the relationships I built.  But if I keep trying to make/keep commitments I'll burn more bridges than I build.

I love you all, you have all been awesome and it has been a truly blessed year.

Bastard Child - KKKKKKK
Sci-Fi / Lo-Fi
[sflf-net017]
2009

KKKKKKK is a re-release of "Bastard Child - Untitled" from Sharpie Records in 2008.

Tracklist:
KKKKKKK [38:49]

This release is my first re-visit to the original Bastard Child harsh-analog noise that you have come to love.

I love the graphics.  I was so very pleased with myself.  The only sad thing is that the picture does not look nice unless sized appropriately.  So download it, and then view it at the appropriate size.  My bad.

Thanks to Lo-Fi/Sci-Fi for snappin' this beast up!  (And to all other labels for trying!)  My heart is bleeding triumph.

album: Love Torture Volume 2
cat.#: LTR200
year: 2009
style: Various electronic and experimental styles.

There is nothing I love more than LTR.  Nothing in this world makes my heart soar so far, like a glistening eagle flying above a newly formed rainbow, as when my eyes grace a product created in the splendourous realms of LTR.

Except for anything that N01ZFUKD creates.  This has been a problem for months, my mind was akin to a wind-torn sail lost in the unforgiving torrents of a tropical storm.  LTR's place in my mind was challenged by the grace and dignity of N01ZFUKD's production methods.

Then, like a delecate butterfly gently carressing the sunrise, N01ZFUKD and LTR teamed their efforts to create this masterpiece of a compilation.  A compilation that shall inevitably tuck the world comfortably in bed for the slumber that ends all dreams.

Your Sister Has A Dick
[YSAD20]
2009

Wow.  I am way behind here.  This is a great release, but I have been so swamped I was not able to represent it in my blog.  This came out about one or two weeks ago.  The same day as the Invisible Waves Remix album, in fact--which I posted a day late.

Anyway.  The graphic is not work friendly, so I made my own.

Tracklist:
01 - Noise Nazi - A Delay In The Cognitive Function
02 - Prescription Of GHB - Octopus Group Sex
03 - Dogprodz - When Your Heart Is In Your Dick
04 - Jason "Evil" Covelli - My Personal Gripes
05 - Flat Affect - Shot (GHB Mix)  [2:43]
06 - Disabled Demons - Intense Palsy
07 - BHG00 - Ds Posseels
08 - RedSK vs. teh soup rebellion - Fuck You MC Neill, We Fucked Your Girlfriend, Mom, Sister, & Grandma At The Same Time You Fucking Faggot, Go Kill Yourself (Feat. MC Neill)

The Flat Affect track represented here is actually a remix of a local punk band, Sobriety Starts Tomorrow.

See, the way I understood this compilation was "just send me some shit really fast."  So I just made some terrible shit and sent it to the label.  The label had other ideas in mind.  "Anything goes" was meant to be "any genre type goes," not, "send me some terrible shit, because we don't care what the compilation sounds like."

So then, trying to prove that I can make quality, genre-bending work, I sent the label this punk remix I made in 2005.  The label liked it, and released it.

I have not asked permission from this band.  They are my friends, but I am not sure if they want to be represented on such a colorful compilation.  So we are just going to keep this little venture hush hush.

Sincerely though, check out the comp.  And check out my remix, 'cause it's fucking amazing.

Taken from Bastard Child's blog:

"Today is the popularly celebrated re-birthday of Jesus the christ.

Today is now also the re-birthday of the Bastard Child's demo EP.

Which one shall ultimately prove more valuable to society? Time will tell. As it stands, my money is on the cassette.

Tracklist:

Side A:
Deception [Edit]
Alogiac
Through Walls
Incognito

Side B:
Live 2005
Original Demo

All tracks on Side A are the original recordings from the first Bastard Child session in 2004. They were post-processed by myself and Amethyst Deception in 2006. Deception was re-edited by myself last month.

Live 2005 is exactly that. I remember we used a lawnmower in the recording area and shredded piles of carpeting.

Original Demo was originally released as "Alogiac Avolition" in 2004 following the first recording session. This was produced by myself.

All thanks to Maggote Meat Shoppe for accepting to take this project on. Looks fucking sharp.

Invisible Waves : Rip me apart / The Remix Album
Amduscias Records
[AMR219]
2009

I enjoy this artist's work, so I was happy to see an all-call for remixes.  I remixed the striking track, both in name and sound, The Man Who Ate His Own Head.  I also like my remix, though I remember it being somewhat louder...That's what I get for making music in headphones.

I'm glad I was able to participate in this, and am thankful that Invisible Waves apparently appreciated the work I put into his track.

Tracklist:
Side A:
01 Somnus Invisible Waves Remix
02 Man Who Ate His Own Head Flat Affect Remix [6:05]
03 Silence 180 Mason Remix
04 Whale-Kosketus Nonima Remix
05 Nielaistu Silent Snow and Krae Dui Remix

Side B:
01 Drone Monkey Ethnomite Pux-Drone Dispenser Remix
02 Whale TRASHFUCK Reconstructed Version by RedSK
03 Gas Mask Girl Eats Her Own Head Nonima Refit

CD-r
150 Print

This is a very special printed CD-r, packaged in a slimline DVD case with really sharp looking graphics.  I am honored to be a part of this collection, as it was an invitation only album collecting some of our current most cherished drone bands.

It was nice to be thought of and included.

It is interesting.  When I started working on music, I had no concept of drone.  I have defined drone by making my own music, and then having people qualify it as "drone."

So my definition of drone, at this point, is music I make.  I look forward to seeing what everyone else in the drone genre offers, to see if it is in any way similar to my perspective!

It has been about 4 months since I heard my submission, and I really do not feel confident that my track is any good.  However, it must be decent, because they allowed me to be on the compilation :)

Tracklist:

 1  Darph/Nader   Sleeping In Shifts (4:06)
 2  Ctephin   Jupiter Invocation (8:04)
3  Tzesne   Fundar La Primera (5:09)
 4  Mystified   Static Surfer (5:10)
 5  C-utter   Entrañas (5:58)
6  Death Trance   Dark Star (6:00)
7  Kristus Kut   Sinking Into Silent Dreams (8:05)
8  Swamps Up Nostrils   Herr Probe Utforsker En Klode (3:10)
9  Flat Affect  Eighth Circle (8:30)
 10  Project Horsed   Sub (5:12)
 11  Norss   Ritueel Bloedvergieten (6:36)
12  Flower Of Flesh And Blood   Eva (5:32)
 13  No (6)   Curado Ham-Cake / Your First Time (6:09)

My track is titled "Eighth Circle" named after Dante's interpretation of hell.  As printed in the sleeve notes, the Eighth Circle is the eigth in a series of alternative mixes of the same song, inspired by Dante Alighieri's masterpiece Inferno. The Eighth Circle is the resting place of the fraudulent—those guilty of deliberate, knowing evil.

The Eighth circle is a remix of the Sixth Circle, which will be released this summer.  The first and ninth circles have been released on my album "The First and the Last" from Okkulth Records.  This album can be downloaded from my profile.  You should get it.  It is pretty amazing.

Thanks to R.O.N.F. Records for helping me feel good about myself.

Toxic Industries
T+003

Months and months ago Trip-Reset approached me regarding a potential split release--amidst other conversation.  I, in my casual way, agreed to a split, but totally never followed through.  A few months later we reconnected and agreed to create two tracks in the following method:

T/R would create a layer, I would add a layer and return it, then he would put a layer over.  I would then create a new track layer, and he would layer over that, and I would layer over that.  Essentially, we agreed to make two tracks started and finished by an artist, but with an unexpected twist introduced halfway by the other artist.

This is where I lamed out.  T/R's track was successfully created:  Two T/R layers with a F/A layer sandwiched between.  MY track was a F/A layer, and a T/R layer, and then a hearty exclamation that the track was perfect and required no extra work.

To make matters worse (or better, as the case would be!), T/R is responsible for the artwork, and the title.

So, the end result is a collaboration by myself and Trip-Reset that is extremely Trip-Reset dominated (for the better!).  The end result is a really stunning sound that reminded both he and I of creation itself.  Listening through this 30 minute release is the equivilent of actually being there watching the first bacterial microbe form, multiply, and eventually crawl out of the water with legs and highly evolved lungs.

To make matters better, Toxic Industries was right there backing this release, preparing a really sharp looking package for an album he had not even heard.

I could not be happier--which is wonderful that I get to say this so often in regard to my releases--this project is a huge success in my eyes.  The sound is great, the visual is great, the theme is perfect.  And the logo--hot damn.

Tracklist:
01  T/R + F/A - Primordial Ooze [14:33]
02  F/A + T/R - Spontanious Generation  [14:58]

At the risk of alienating some great labels and friends, I have chosen to collect all of my compilation submissions from 2008 onto a single, limited edition CD-r.

I'm not sure how many people recognize the amount of work that goes into contributing to compilations.  I can't speak for everyone, but I typically contribute to compilations out of respect for the label, or the artist.  I either make new material, re-master/format old material, or offer out unreleased material.  The goal is to create something special and unique to celebrate the labels and people that I hold so high and dear.

But then what?  I still love and cherish all of these tracks.  A piece of me has gone into each of them.  I looked through my collection of tracks from 2008 and realized that 13 of my tracks, some better than others, but all important and nostalgic, are laying unloved and unappreciated in the recesses of my collection.

So that's when I decided to take advantage of my massive ego and reclaim my gifts.  Each label deserves attention and credit for their amazing compilations (and all of the compilations have been great!) and I do not want to take away from what I gave to these labels.  I am lucky that these labels gave me a chance to contribute, and I continue to be lucky that people care to hear and own what I create.

This album is created for personal reasons, so I can hold these tracks close, and make the album that "never was."

So here they are.

01.  Srerutrotineg (Metal is Gay)
02.  A Study of Imminence (Toon 1, Okkulth Records)
03.  Evitagen O Epyt (Metal is Gay)
04.  Assinine (Fuck CDs, Splatterfuck Tapes)
05.  Pikatrix (Okkulth Magick II, Okkulth Records)
06.  Torture is Mute (Love Torture Vol I, Love Torture Records)
07.  Enyavdum (Metal is Gay)
08.  WfS314 (Chanukomp, Trashfuck Net)
09.  Diskinesia (RONF NET Compilation Vol 1, RONF Records)
10.  Godrestye [Remaster] (Darkmass 2008, Okkulth Records)
11.  Manifest Best Interest (Skull the Stench, Smell the Stench)
12.  Moreover (Unholy Matrimony, Smell the Stench)
13.  Backwaren [Unreleased Demo]

There are two unreleased tracks here, one is my remaster of Godrestye from Okkulth Records' Darkmass.  My only explanation as to why the track is so quiet on that compilation is that I am still incredibly scared of my own judgement.  I was insecure as to the direction I was taking the track, so I turned the volume down and washed over it with some drone.  This version has been turned up, and the original intent is a little more audible.

The other unreleased track WOULD have been released on a tribute to Veronica Moser intended for release some time around Halloween.  Stirner/Toon had committed to releasing this.  I would like to think Stirner will return and release this compilation at some point.  If he does, I will re-work this track to make it unique and worth hearing.
This version of Backwaren is, like Darkmass, my own insecurity taking over.  I was unsure of the direction so I played some AM radios over the original track and absolutely wrecked any form of cohesion.  It is still worth hearing, though.

Please contact Maggotte Meat Shoppe/maggotribe for trade/purchase information!
Also, a HUGE thank you to all of the labels, and a definite thanks to Maggot.

Flat Affect has made a triumphant return to the world of 8 Kbps recordings with the new EP, Dyssomnia. This is a 22 minute, four track drone effort made to fit on a Floppy Diskette, and fit it has!

The release is devoted to sleep disorders, and I'm sure if you were to look up each title you would find a wealth of information on said disorders.  Download a new album, learn some new words!  How quaint!

The tracklist is evident on the cover, and I don't feel very good, so I'm not going to go into much detail here.  Much thanks to 4m, though!  This 8kbps genre is really letting me have some fun!

Click the pictures to download the release and put it on a diskette yourself, or cross your fingers that I'm kind enough to mail you a copy.
