so after returning from spain, doing ex-centric sound system shows, i will do the bass shows for the rest of the summer returning back to the funk/party element of the booty ,every show is going to be different, in celebrate brooklyn on aug 3rd ill host master kora player from mali"Balla Tounkara",he is by far the most versatile kora griot iv ever heard, then in canada{ aug 16-17} besides doing a bass party[i have lots of jamaican accapelas with me and it will turn to be drum&bass/ragga versions} , ill have 2 work shops, one is about looping and the concept of the bass show, i think everybody would be able to take something from that being that you just got to have a concept and then let your self go, i mean its mental as much as it is musical. 2nd-a reggae work shop-with brinsly ford{aswad},veux farka toure, and more, i m not sure how its going to be but i m looking forward to that, Aswad had being major influence on me, i saw them 3 times in the early eighties, it was as good as reggae ever got, and i also rate their album "new chapter in dub"as the top 2 dub records of all times, lee scratch perry" super ape" is also up there. back then a dub album was special, it meant that you knew the original version real good, and because you loved it so much when the dub album would come out you could refer to the original song, also its going to be great to finally meet vieux farka toure-from mali, i remixed his song about 2 years ago, but never met him . looking to it all blessings yossi

sometimes it take 1 song to get a record deal, {not allways but...] in the late 90s i had a meeting at loud records about producing a neo soul act perhaps, one of the jams i had on the side was marra, an afro/hiphop/dub thing i fooled around with, when it was played steven rifkind{ceo of loud}said'i want that,do u have more, at the time ididntso we agreed that ill deliver a full record 'electric voodooland"of that style,{world beat}? and at the same time would make the reggea department at loud ,thats y the afro riddims started to happen, marra-is that song that got me the whole thing going, the deal, and later the band, but mpst of all the consept/direction. the song never made it to any of our cds, because the band never played on it, and mainly we had so many tunes by that time, so no national geographic music dept with calabash music .com asked me to give them an exclusive track i chose this one,so for all the people that came to our shows , we allways played this one, big favorite, hope u like ithere it is- http://worldmusic.nationalgeographic.com/worldmusic/view/page.basic/article/content.article/geomixes_project > yossi
