This has been such an exciting year, watching all my little songs slowly blossom and conglomerate into their own mini-masterpiece. I am so proud of Techna and really hope that the fans enjoy this musical journey into my heart and soul.

These 8 original tracks are the best of the best, the strongest and most memorable pieces I have come up with over the past three years. But not until this year of development did I really learn a thing or two about making music. Collaboration has always been a bit of a dirty word for me. (I'm such a control freak.) But working with Tom at Vertical was the most fun I've ever had with these songs, tweaking and fine-tuning, adding and taking away and hearing them culminate with the help of his objectivity and musical expertise. Also, the remixers truly outdid themselves in applying their own signature styles to their favourite songs. Their two bonus tracks at the end of Techna are better than anything I could have ever come up with! (Should I be threatened here?) Thank you Sunbiz and locK_stocK. And lastly, working with professional live musicians (for "Christer is Tronic" and in preparation for the CD release party) has shown me how much more fun music-making can be when you're working with other people.

And lastly, as far as control goes, the album design process has been an equally eye-opening experience. I am so so SO happy with the Techna artwork. Design duo Glasfurd&Walker are complete creative geniuses and totally nailed it. I am so glad I was brave enough to put my trust in them, as the end result is truly outstanding.

With all that said, I realize that nothing makes me feel more alive than being in the studio. It is my happy place. I have learned so much from this experience and look forward to moving on to the next level. Once all this album brouhaha is over, I can't wait to get back in the studio and start learning so much more about production, refining my skills and most importantly, collaborating with others to make a slew of new songs that will be a million times better than anything I've ever made!!!

Look out world...

The album is officially happening!!!

This weekend was predominantly spent in Vertical Studios with musical genius Tom Dobrzanski, where "How You Like It" was magically transformed from the cute cool toy pop track it once was, into the ultimate tronic dance anthem it is now!  Honestly, wait till you hear it, it's totally sick.  I'd post it on MySpace but I wanna keep it a surprise...

Too excited!

Love,
Christer

Cadaver was the first electro track I ever made back in 2005.  I've recently rediscovered it and am excited to share it again today, with the fans : )

More importantly, Halifax-native DnB guru Lockstock will be remixing this track as part of the upcoming Christer album.  Look out for the remix on MySpace!

Love,
Christer

As you all may have heard, Christer is in the process of recording a full length album, due out late this year (possibly early 2008)  With the help of local hip hop producer Sunbiz, Christer's thrilled to reveal a sneak peak of what said album might sound like once finetuned by some of Canada's greatest beat programming talent!

This new remix is a roughdraft of what "adieu" will sound like on the final project.  Frankly, it's pretty f*ckin' sick!

Stay tuned for a drum n' bass remix of Cadaver by Halifax-based DJ and producer Lock Stock and much much more!

Christer has just won a $1500 grant from the lovely Canadian government which will be used towards the recording and production of her very first full-length album!

She plans to recruit many local beat programmers and producers whom have taken an interest in working with her to make this latest project the best that it can be.

Stay tuned for more news, remixes and shows!

Big love.

Hey all,

Christer had her busiest month this July with three shows and a new song under her belt entitled "So Alive" to be posted on MySpace shortly.

This is a sincere thank you to all the people that have supported me in my creative journey.

Big shout outs to Josh "The Boss" McNorton for his tireless managerial and technical support (wouldn't be here without you!)

Also, big love to some of the greatest girls in my life - Chelsea Rooney, Tracy Stefanucci, Larissa Bechtold and Shantelle Marie Cloutier.

Big sloppy wet kisses for my man Jesse Williams - thank you so much for all the inspiration, you hopeless cassanova you.

Special thanks to Sean McKay from SPM Music and the nice lad at the Lamplighter who wrote such a lovely review about me in the recent newsletter.

Big big big love to Mark "Turdy" Wilkinson.  Thanks for teaching me how to dance, dress and love.  xox

And of course, Mum and Dad.  You're in my heart always.  Thanks for being proud of your "scantilly clad" electro diva.

Expect much more from Christer this year.  The ball is officially in motion!

xox,
Christer

Adieu was written in an effort to focus on lyrics.  So here they are:

"adieu"

by Christer

..[if !supportEmptyParas]--> ..[endif]-->sticking to you like a piece of gum
on the sole of your shoe
holds you back from heaving all the words
that you know how to chew
do you screw me and you
or just you?
unglue me from you

"adieu"

..[if !supportEmptyParas]--> ..[endif]-->'scuse me, didn't mean to make my room
into a honeymoon
but I learned how to tango and the first step
says it takes two
get a clue, me and you
were all-consumed
little spoons, a cocoon

"adieu"

..[if !supportEmptyParas]--> ..[endif]-->babe, I didn't know a little love
would make you shake in your boots
tried to likey-like you but I guess
I shoulda look where I shoot
us two, a tattoo, you can't undo
being used isn't cool

"adieu"

..[if !supportEmptyParas]--> ..[endif]-->'cause sexy lover's gotta have a plan
man, you gotta have a plan
stick it to me while I got the glee
'cause you think that you can
I knew that you had issues
so I assume that you flew

"adieu"

..[if !supportEmptyParas]--> ..[endif]-->sticking to you like a piece of gum
on the sole of your shoe
holds you back from heaving all the words
that you know how to chew
do you screw me and you
or just you?
unglue me from you
