UNBELIEVABLE... that is the ONLY way to describe the concert we went to Thursday night. Bonnie Raitt and Keb Mo. I think it is the best concert I have ever been too (and I'm a concert whore, so I've been to ALOT). I have heard bits an pieces of Keb Mo but if you haven't listened to him, give him a try. The man was just awesome. And Ms. Bonnie... there are no words to describe that woman's gorgeous voice. When she sang "Angel in Montgomery" I swear it made me cry. Even Megan was impressed, although we couldn't get up close to the stage to get autographs. We did do a bathroom run and ran across the front of the stage just as Bonnie was coming out to do some acoustic stuff on Keb Mo's set... she is such a tiny little thang with all that red hair. How that voice comes out of that woman I will never know. She waved at Megan as we sat down so she was happy.
If you EVER get the chance to see Bonnie live, TRUST ME you will not regret it. It was worth EVERY penny!
Next concert... maybe the Pretenders in November, but it's GA so I'm not quite sure. Kevin has spoiled me with with these first 10 row seats we get, I'm getting too old for GA concerts. But Chrissie Hynde is a goddess... :)
Off to make a big ol' Sunday brunch (Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes, anyone?) and get ready for the race. Talladega baby!

Posting that Jonny Lang CD on my last post reminded me.... we went to see Jonny last Thursday. It was our first concert at Stubbs and let me tell you, if you like the blues, like blues guitar, you HAVE to go see this man. He is awesome! I think this was our 4th or 5th time to see him and he gets better every time.
Love dat man!
This Thursday we are going to see Bonnie Raitt at the Backyard. I wanna show Megan that girls can rock the blues just as good as the boys :)

Wowweee... check out the pic of our new baby. A badly-in-need-of-attention '62 Willys Wagon. Ain't she cute???

Current mood: worried
My baby girl is having her tonsils out tomorrow.... mama is a little worried, I don't like her being sick and hopefully this will help. But the thought of hospitals and anesthesia and needles and surgery... just makes me nervous. Keep her in your thoughts tomorrow :)
On a good note, she made it into both Science Club and Spanish Club at school and is very excited (almost as excited about missing a week of school for her tonsils!). We're going to wait until first report card to take on any outside stuff but we're looking at swimming now.
Let's just get through tomorrow....

OK first a RANT, then a RAVE...
First week of school and the idiot is on the rampage by the end of the week. Can she not understand that she needs to MOVE ON and leave us alone? So sad to watch her prove how she has nothing more important to do with her life than try to start crap here. My god, you would think after all these years that she could move her pathetic fat ass past all of this. We are barely allowed to be parents as it is and have been basically eliminated out of anything but yet we still have to watch her insanity! But we have decided long ago not to get suckered into the the hell-hole and didn't let it ruin our weekend.
Now on to the RAVE... my baby girl is now happily settling into 5th grade. She's wanting to do all kinds of stuff... Chess club, Spanish Club, Science Club, library and safety patrol and now wants to look at doing some karate! Man oh man, the social butterfly is on the loose! The house renovating is going slowly but surely... Kevin decided to paint the living room himself (ceiling is too high for my clutzy self) and it's looking SO nice. The tile is coming along (even though we keep increasing where we're putting it!) and we're hoping to have the whole deal done by the time the 'rents get home for turkey day. Kev looks really cute up on that big ol ladder... nekkid painting at it's finest LOL!!
Looking forward to seeing what you guys have been up to!

I love being in the live music capital of the world. Went to see Black Crowes earlier this week at the Backyard... first time doing a GA show there and DEFINITELY will be the last time. Let's see how many people we can pack in here without seats in the heat of summer! Took 20 minutes to get a beer and nowhere to sit. Not to mention that the Crowes were a HUGE disappointment... kinda like Dave Matthews, GREAT on the radio (I LOVE when Chris Robinson sings) but the songs are half an hour long and it sucks. We walked out an hour into it, when we headed out they were starting a drum solo and when we got to the car 20 minutes later, I swear it was STILL going on. LOTS of people walking out.
Anywho... lesson learned. On to better news: I scored THIRD ROW CENTER Chris Isaak tickets and 10th row for Bonnie Raitt. I also just saw that Jonny Lang's website that he will be playing at Stubbs in September.... GOTTA be at that one.
Needless to say I have reached my concert budget for the year :( STILL waiting for my man Clapton to arrive....
Happy Weekend everybody!
