CLICK HERE FOR THE eBAY AUCTION

THE BLURB:

"To celebrate Youth Music’s 10th Birthday, 70 of the world’s greatest musicians and visual artists have created a groundbreaking body of collaborative artwork based on Rankin’s iconic portrait.  These musicians and visual artists have 'destroyed' a Rankin print of themselves or a musical hero and turned the image into an original piece of art to raise money for Youth Music. You can view this item, and all other items being auctioned at Phillips De Pury Gallery in London from 9-21 November 2009."

ABOUT YOUTH MUSIC:

Youth Music is the UK's largest children's music charity providing funding for music projects and activities. We believe in the power of music to transform young people's lives. Music has the power to encourage and nurture talent; a power that builds confidence and self-esteem; a power that opens new horizons, raises aspirations and helps individuals express who they are. Since 1999, we have provided over 2 million children and young people with free access to a range of music-making projects and activities. For many, being given the chance to experience the power of music has been a life changing experience. Because of Youth Music there are now more high quality music-making opportunities for a wider range of children and young people than ever before.

Finn recorded a lovely new song in his flat in London in an attempt to stave off post-American-tour-anxiety. You can download it for free here:

FAREWELL DIETZY-BOY

We are all very saddened to reveal, as of the end of our current European tour, Henning will be leaving The Veils. As some of you may know, Henning had a baby girl earlier this year and following much pondering on his part he has decided a life almost entirely on the road with us won't allow him sufficient time to be with his daughter. Fair enough really.

We will be joined by our exceptionally talented friend Raife for our tour in America over the summer until a permanent replacement can be found.

Please join us in wishing Henning all the best for the future. We'll miss him to bits.

There's a very lovely review of the Dingwalls show on Drowned In Sound. Other tour related ramblings are on the Soph Blog - pictures of dressing rooms and anecdotes about the crossword, at this point.

As well as the Rough Trade showcase at Sallis Benny on May 15th with British Sea Power, Micachu and more, we're also playing a Matinee (shades, fizzy water, banana) show ON the Pier at Horatio's - fronting up the New Zealand export showcase which also includes our dear friend Liam Finn, so it's bound to be fun.

A holiday by the seaside....
