Hello all, we have good news...
The long-winded and migraine inducing contractual shenanigans we needed to sort out before being able to record our new album have FINALLY been sorted and signed off.
There has unquestionably been musical benefits as many of the songs have progressed in amazing and unexpected ways over the last month, but, the soonest we can now get in to record is the first week of August (making a September release impossible.)
We're gutted to have it put back, it frustrates us more than anyone but we assure you it will be well, well worth it and we sincerely thank you for your patience . We also can't wait to see you at one or more of our live dates this autumn...

  Love and respect,
  Greg, Aaron, Colin and Rowly

P.S. Clip of new song 'Hold Fire' is now up, a briefer snippet as was originally intended due to it going through major changes in the last four days, enjoy!

Hello mates, blog fiend Rowly here. Alls going amazing and full steam ahead in our musical bunker, for the first time we may actually have our album tracks chosen and put in order of appearance before going in to record.  Of course it may change when we're there, and of course i may be lying to you (im not, right) but it flows so goddamn well at the moment im pretty sure we've nailed that oft tricky part already. Septembers gonna be a golden month (thats not the title i assure you.)
As you may recall in my last excellent blog i had some old photos sent to me that i thought id share here, well here they are. Theyre from a range of times and places, from Abbey Road studios when we played the John Lennon tribute radio concert marking the 25th anniversary of his death (our version of 'Give Peace a Chance' featuring quite a mixed bag of backing vocalists), to the You See Colours photoshoot on Port Meirion beach, to the incredible lake Zurich and most recently a pic of us out in the forest celebrating Aarons birthday. Unfortunately we didnt stumble across any satanic rituals (never bloody do) but was an amazing day nonetheless...
   Laters folks, Rowly X

Evening all, Rowly here. How you doing?
Im completely shattered after a long and very fruitful days rehearsing but have been sent a few old photos of us which reminded me of how much i enjoy a good blog. Giving updates to how our album rehearsals are going is hard as the progression in the songs is more something to be heard rather than something to be read about, and im wary of just writing the boring promo-y crap that other bands have written for them. Alls i will say then is that despite the odd blazing row, these sessions are a complete fucking joy (seriously, if you think i grin a lot on stage you want to see me playing these new songs) and we're well on course for it to be ready for your listening pleasure in September.
I can also give you a sneaky peek at the songs we've been playing today....

Photobucket

Bands not being able to describe their music is about as lame as when i used to answer 'a bit of everything' when asked on my taste in music, so we've been debating the best way to describe the new songs (gonna wait till its all recorded till we attempt the album.) Heres the best so far courtesy of Mr Greg Gilbert...
On '24 Hours is like 3 Weeks'- "Sounds like the training montage of a thousand warrior monks preparing an assault on a mountain fortress"
And on 'Rhapsody' (which has improved tenfold since the demo version)- "Like an assembly of pagan sun worshipers living on the back of a giant whale whilst it effortlessly traverses the seven seas"

We do like to keep you informed of what we're up to as much as time allows so we've recently started up a Twitter page Delays (Delays_) on Twitter where we can let you know on a day to day basis whats going on both musically and in our spare time (for those of you that are, like us, right nosey gits- come join us!)

My computers being an arse so ill get them unseen photos up over the next few days, so, until we next do speak- loads of big love,  Rowly XXXX

Good day to you dear friends, Rowly out of Delays here with a bumper easter blog of news thats all good....

Since last we spoke we've solely been concentrating on writing, playing, arranging and choosing the right songs for our fourth album. I know all bands go on about how their latest music is a real progression and all that but the important thing to remember is-most of them are talking shit, and, (as im sure you know by now, you intelligent, sexy bastards you)  with us its the gods honest. As great as the demo clips are, theyre the merest of hints to how our musics going to evolve across this next record and it gives me fucking incredible pleasure to announce that we're going to begin recording in just one months time for a september release. Thats- we're going to begin recording in just one months time for a SEPTEMBER RELEASE!

In the meantime, we've recently released the previously unheard in full track from the Everythings The Rush sessions 'Are You Ready' as a download to tie in with its use on the amazing online football game Football Superstars. Heres a snippet from the newsletter that says it best...

Football Superstars is the worlds first 'Virtual Football World' where you can not only play- for free- massive multiplayer matches but live and move around in ttwo huge virtual towns visiting bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. As you perform higher as a player so your lifestyle and stock rises in the virtual world. Delays Greg Gilbert said "We've been asked a lot of questions about 'Are You Ready', so its exciting that fans can get the complete song now. The track was originally recorded during the 'Everythings The Rush' album sessions and when Football Superstars approached us for a track for their site we knew it would be perfect"

Have yourselves a sneaky peak of the game and song with a link to buying it on itunes right.......
  here  http://footballsuperstars.com/ football/delays.html

Also...Our Indiana Jones-like rummaging for lost photos is of course continuing, heres the latest fruits of our search- enjoy!

Speak soon loves, may all your eggs be massive.
   Big big love,   Rowly XXXX

Ps, for those who enjoy the TV show 90210 and its not exactly unattractive cast, make sure you tune in a week on monday (episode 14 'By Accident' for those outside the UK) when our very own 'Keep it Simple' gets blasted out for a good minute. Unfortunate choice of single it may have been but sounds amazing with shots of sunny California and the ever delightful Naomi,  a winning combination!

Photobucket   Hello mates, Rowly here. Like many cities outside London and those with numerous famous sons and daughters, Southamptons unique and diverse music scene doesnt get the recognition it deserves. Theres massive benefits to being slightly under the radar though, as theres no one Southampton 'sound' that finds its way instinctively into the bands here there is pretty much no two bands that sound remotely alike.
We're often asked about Southamptons scene and its hard to name just a couple without missing out shit loads of quality bands and good friends. Therefore i urge all of you with an ear for new music to have a look at any one of these excellent websites that contribute massively to our city. I guarentee you'll find something you like.....mINtSOUTH.com: Celebrating the music scene in the South
SouthSCENE - Underground Music Website For The South Coast - SouthSCENE

Long Live Rock and Roll on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

Theres also an amazing book been written about our most celebrated venue, The Joiners Arms in St Marys street. Featuring a section written by our very own Greg Gilbert and a couple of very, very early pics of us when we were the brilliant but shit-ly named 'Corky', its well worth a read
BBC - Hampshire - Entertainment - Access One Step

Lastly, in this shameless promotion of our fair city, is a short documentary made by local filmaker Georgius Misjura about Southamptons music called 'Play My Record'. Theres an interview with me, Greg and The Fox  halfway through the second half but the whole thing is well worth a watch, enjoy....YouTube - Play my Record - PART I

Good day to you, Rowly here.
You may well have seen the bulletin we wrote together and sent out yesterday but just in case it was missed, here it is once more......

Hello all,

We have recently parted company with Fiction Records and we wish them every success in the future.

As you know, all that matters is the music, and we're already in the studio demoing for the next album. You can hear some exclusive first tastes of where we're going by visiting our myspace and facebook sites. Rhapsody (demo) and Unsung (demo)

Facebook:

Right, off to rehearsals now. i shall leave you now with a smattering of photos of us in the studio recording said demos....
       Love always, Rowly XX
