            Don't know if you saw it or not, but 2 OR songs were featured on the show Epic Conditions on The Weather Channel on October 4th (reairing on October 23).  The show focused on the massive and often unpredictable waves at Mavericks, which is located in Half Moon Bay in Northern California.  Being that Kathy and I were in San Diego at the time and nothing but time on our hands, we decided to get up early the next morning and make the trek from So. Cal to No. Cal. 

             After typing the address into our rented GPS it confirmed that we would arrive sometime around 5:33pm...it was currently 6:27am.  Nevertheless, we were off...to Denny's.  After a few cups of coffee and a meal that resembled french toast, we were on our way, via the I-5 North. 

             4 and a half hours later we were making good time.  We put the rag top down so our scalps could burn and made it to Los Angeles which greeted us warmly with 7 mph bumper to bumber traffic.  As we watched our approximate arrival time soar somewhere between Sunday and Tuesday, we came to the realization that we were not going to make it. 

             Was California getting back at me for some unkind words I had to say about her a few years back? Maybe, maybe not.  The fact that the belt I was wearing broke mere seconds after the mornings departure was probably a clue.  Regardless, the crown of my head was being branded by the LA sun and I had forgotten to apply sunblock. 

             With our tails between our legs...we were beaten and promptly exited on to the long and winding road back to San Diego. 

             All was not lost, however, for when we arrived at the Beach n Diner (in Coronado) at 10:00 pm I had myself  the best damned french toast this side of Uncle Bill's.  Vinnies Famous French Toast to be exact.  You gotta try em...their worth the trip.

well, that's what's on the menu here at H.Q. for tonight. I guess i'll get something.

The video update: so here it is. The music video is in re-tooling right now. So we don't know when we'll be releasing our first ever music video debut. The point is...keep a watchful eye. For soon you could be watching our entertaining antics.

My thoughts on raising the royalty rate on internet radio, payola, and the 4200 radio hours for indies ....

The way I see it.. raising the royalty rate will extinguish the majority of internet radio stations. This will decrease exposure for new music. I realize some internet radio stations will continue but more then likely will be manipulated into playing mainstream music. Thus,, decreasing exposure for new music. I think its odd that the royalty rates are now being adjusted just as the FCC Settles With Radio In Support Of Independent Music. I think its perfect timing for the big 4. The big four ( Clear Channel, CBS, Entercom Comm. and Citadel )got a slap on the wrist for payola and now the royalty rates on internet radio are increased giving the big 4 a new direction to pursue.. internet radio.. and with fewer internet radio stations the easier it will be for the Big 4 to manipulate them into playing their artists. Its a conspiracy ! Thank you sooo much to the four radio station owners that agreed to set aside 4,200 hours of free radio time for local and independent musicians. Exactly how will that work?? Who will be monitoring the 4200 hours? And will this 4200 hours apply to internet radio.. lol doubt it. Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Yesterday, we finished shooting Day 2 of our music video and we are nearly finished.  It's been an interesting experience and it really seems to be turning out great.  Everyone involved has worked really hard.  However, because the members of the band have smaller parts to play, Day 2 went something like this: 

1. Drink coffee. Wait around.

2. Play silly but addictive internet games. Wait around.  

3.  Briefly review the rules of Uno.  Play several games of Uno.  Enjoy more coffee or energy drink of choice.

4.  Eat lunch.  Watch snippets of Law and Order, The Punisher and Joyride.

5.  Act out a scene.  Wait around.

There are a few behind the scenes still pictures posted up.  We don't expect you to understand what is happening from the pics but it will all make sense in the context of video.  You'll have to trust us.  We'll keep you updated on the video's availability soon!!

Guess what? (What?) O.R. has decided that it's about time for our legion of fans to see our music on the most commonly used household appliance.

That's right we're making a Music Video...

You'll be able to see it if you stop looking at youtube clips of people setting themselves on fire, eating helicopters, and fighting boxcar-bums for cheap whiskey. There's no doubt that Coca-cola and Nike will want to use us in major advertising campaigns during the Super-Bowl and we'll be singing, "...are you ready for some football" in no time.

So don't be the last one at school to jump on the Officer Roseland wagon. Be proactive for pete's sake. How? well start adding this phrase into conversations at school and work. "Hey, did you hear anything about the Officer Roseland music video." or "Wow, I just can't wait for the Officer Roseland video to be out so I can watch it over and over again until it's burned permanently into my memory."

Yes, we believe we are the first band in the universe to blur the line between rock n roll and competitive eating. On Sunday December 10, 2006, the members of Officer Roseland ventured to a nearby Cheeburger Cheeburger eatery to face their greatest challenge to date: consume 2 whole green olives (including pimentos) as well as a 20 ounce hamburger complete with toppings of our choice, in one sitting. To describe this task in one word...daunting. In yet another word...dinner. I could go on and on with more words, so I will. All 4 members completed the challenge and the event was filmed and photographed for our own enjoyment. Our picture is now thumbtacked on the now legendary "Pounder Wall". Once again we have proven that there are no limits to our shameless self-promotion.
