Ok, so I haven't written a blog in a looooong time. In fact, before last week I hadn't written a single thing at all in months...  A good friend of mine was reading my blogs and asked why I hadn't posted anything new this year, and I didn't have a good answer for her. Now, after like 2 months I am gonna take an easy approach to getting back into writing by posting a music blog. I don't know if anybody will even read these anymore, but it is more for me than anything. Nevertheless, I hope somebody enjoys this!

This song has been one of my favorites for a very long time, but recently it has been in my head A LOT. If you listen to this song, and it doesn't drum up some sort of emotion.... then I think you may be dead This song is very simple, yet very powerful.

The first video I include is the original version by Bush. This is what I heard when I fell in love with this song, but the video I put on the bottom of this blog is a piano cover by a very talented young lady I found on youtube. The reason I included it in this blog is to promote one of my favorite things about music: you can make it your own and it will be just as beautiful, or even more so than it was originally. I hope you enjoy!

Glycerine - Bush

It Must be your skin that I'm sinking in
It Must be for real 'cause now I can feel
And I didn't mind it's not my kind
It's not my time to wonder why
Everything's gone white
And everything's grey
Now you're here now you're away
I don't want this
Remember that
I'll never forget where you're at
Don't let the days go by
Glycerine
Glycerine

I'm never alone
I'm alone all the time
Are you at one
Or do you lie
We live in a wheel
Where everyone steals
But when we rise it's like strawberry fields
I treated you bad
You bruise my face
Couldn't love you more
You got a beautiful taste
Don't let the days go by
Could have been easier on you
I couldn't change though I wanted to
Should have been easier by three
Our old friend fear and you and me
Glycerine
Glycerine
Don't let the days go by
Glycerine
Don't let the days go by
Glycerine
Oh, Glycerine!

Bad moon white again
Bad moon white again
As she falls around me

I needed you more
When we wanted us less
I could not kiss just regress
It might just be me
Clear simple and plain
That's just fine
That's just one of my names
Don't let the days go by
Could have been easier on (you)
Glycerine

Audioslave - Until We Fall

I walk the streets without regret...aaah
I stood alone and watched myself fall apart
Answered the voices in my head...aaah
Slipped through the chain link of a broken heart

And when I'm tired of feeling black
Spread the wings upon your back
Take us high above it all
And stroke your feathers 'til we fall back down again

Bought everything that sounded good
I understand that I've been misunderstood

And when I'm tired of feeling black
Spread the wings upon your back
Take us high above it all
And stroke your feathers 'til we fall
Until we fall, until we fall back down again
Yeah, back down again

What do you feel before you think
What do you see before you blink
Who do you battle in your dreams
Who strokes your feathers 'til you scream

And when I'm tired of feeling black
Spread the wings upon your back
Take us high above it all
And stroke your feathers 'til we fall
Until we fall, until we fall back down again
Yeah, back down again

I submitted the following article to the "Ideas for change in America" myspace profile. The deadline is December 31st, I just found out about it, or I would have posted something sooner. If you have any ideas, check out the bulletin I posted today and submit them! Here is my idea...

I have seen prototypes of an automobile that receives its energy not from the burning of fossil fuels, but from hydrogen. This concept is not a secret and many people may have heard about it. The emissions produced by this vehicle are in the form of water vapor, therefore no harmful greenhouse gases. The main obstacle preventing this idea from becoming an everyday reality is the development of hydrogen refuelling stations and the loss of revenue by the already much to powerful oil companies. My idea is that the desired funding for the automakers should be given on one condition; that they use the money to develop the hydrogen brand of automobiles. Not just powered by hydrogen, but hydrogen/electric hybrids to conserve the use of hydrogen as well. The government should also help with the initial development of hydrogen refuel stations and the addition of hydrogen fuel pumps in gas stations that already exist. The government could fund the building of the new fuel stations and sell them to private investors or even use them to help establish new small business owners. Government legislation should be passed that requires all fuel stations to have an adequate number of hydrogen refuelling pumps in order to do business. This change-over would take some time, but the sooner we remove the automobile of yesterday off of the road, the sooner we can step into a brighter tomorrow.

I credit my rediscovering of this very emotional song to a new found friend of mine on myspace... somebody who seems to incorporate music into her identity even more than I do. You know who you are, but I don't know if you read my blogs or not.

I remember listening to this song over and over again, because it seemed as if I had written it from my own experiences with my ex-girlfriend/ "highschool sweetheart". Upon listening to it again for the first time in a few years I was introduced to those same emotions... something I hadn't felt in awhile. It's making me think a lot about things, weird how a song can do that to you. It's really kinda pissing me off too because I am remembering all the BULLSHIT that I went through for no reason... glad I finally took the chance and left you standing for a change. And to think I ALMOST let myself get sucked back in at one point! Fuck it, I am all the better for it now! Enjoy this song please!

Wasting My Time

Well I don't want to see you waiting
I've already gone too far away
I still can't keep the day from ending
No more messed up reasons for me to stay

[CHORUS]

Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more

I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling

There is no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all again
Woah again

Months went by with us pretending
When did our light turn from green to red
I took a chance and left you standing
Lost the will to do this once again

[CHORUS]

Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
There is no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time again
Woah again

See you waiting
Look so lonely
See you waiting
I see you waiting

[CHORUS]

Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
There is no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my ...
Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
There is no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all again
Woah again

T’was the night before Everything

By Daniel Weston

T’was the night before, (as if night mattered) and all through the universe,

not a fermion was stirring, not a quark or it’s inverse.

Everything was nothing

yet in a moment later,

the size of a dot,

something - an energy radiator.

Then a phase transition,

caused a cosmic inflation,

that grew exponentially towards,

quark-gluon plasmatiation.

An excess of quarks as it cooled

In the first seconds,

by the time down to a billion K,

an annihilation dance beckons.

Time not to rest still way too hot, just not as hot as before,

particle energies drop, now the physics we can’t ignore.

379,000 light years later

the electrons and then nuclei combine,

Still 11,000 plus degrees C,

now into atoms it finally sublimes.

Then slowly gravitationally attracted,

to nearby each others and more,

two, four, eight, a million,

soon sextillions and decillions galore.

Then speckles and sparkles,

like first falling snow,

gives a depth to space,

and a pattern to the glow.

When out on the edge,

a shutter, and chatter,

from the swirls and the collapses,

out-shed matter.

When, what to the deep

and the deeper should show,

But a star that lasts more

then a fleeting you know.

With a force super lively

and light way too bright,

They shine, fade, expand,

and explode with the might.

More and more the elements

by orbital came,

And they spun in layers,

and periodic by name!

"Take Hydrogen first!

and now Helium! too,

make Lithium and Carbon

to name just a few!

Now, Nitrogen!, Now Oxygen! Now Beryllium and Boron!,

Now more and more and more they flew on!

To the column of the group and rows of little balls,

Now fusion away! Fusion away! Fusion away all!"

And then, in a twinkling of stars,

and a swill of dust danced,

Galactic arms twist to a center,

that disappeared into blackness.

Pulled towards the hole,

with one last drift around,

Down the chimney the light went

with only a slight sound.

Gravity wins or does it really a few great minds must ponder,

Does something leak out and fatten the warp, they now all wonder.

Space-time bends and it twists,

but does it break or falter.

Can we ever know just one

everything equation or another.

With all this and that when you add all the parts,

the mass not enough to hold the whole thing should fall apart.

The numbers not-exact but checked time and time again by the add-ers,

There’s only one answer (maybe), it's full of Dark matter!

Will it grow forever,

until it’s runs out and lapses,

Just can’t stay the same,

must at least relapses!

But what is the mass balance

and how will we know,

whether times runs forever,

or someday backwards to no.

We measured the shift rates and much to our surprise,

not only just away they all flew but still accelerating, we weren't very wise.

So we heard it exclaim,

I go ‘perpetually out of sight,

"Happy forever to all,

and to all a very slowly dimming night!"

I was happy to see community websites such as facebook and the personally newly discovered myYearbook to have causes applications....but they are very limited. There are a lot of people who have a lot of different opinions on society and politics who have no place to go to feel as if their voice is being heard. I post a lot of things on myspace bulletins about current events, and my status for any social site I am a part of is always either a song or a thought, never really my personal status as it is intended to be. I have met a few fellow thinkers on the social sites, don't get me wrong, but they are very rare. Usually people do surveys, play games, or do trivial things on these websites. This is fine and I admit, I do them too. But I want a place where my voice will be heard by people who, like myself, enjoy discussing the problems of our world (problems of yesterday, today, and even tomorrow.) When I post a bulletin on myspace about my ideas or thoughts, I feel like they are being completely overlooked and pushed aside by the flurry of bulletins that are being posted for people to "get into organized crime" or whatever application they happen to be playing with at the time. I want a website for thinkers, maybe something like a "Revolution Space" or "Philosophy Space", the name isn't terribly important. This website shouldn't have games or applications for people to get caught up in, rather it should merely be a place for people to get together in chats or through bulletins/comments to discuss ideas. If such a place exists I have not found it, and believe me I have looked. If there is a website like this PLEASE send me a link! Maybe myspace or the app people can create an application for this... I mean come on there is an app for EVERYTHING else.

Tha sistas are in so check the front line
Seems I spent the '80s in the Haiti state of mind
Cast me into classes for electro shock
Straight incarcerated, the curriculum's a cell block
I'm swimmin' in half truths and it makes me wanna spit
Instructor come separate the healthy from tha sick
Ya weigh me on a scale, smellin' burnt skin
It's dark now in Dachau and I'm screamin' from within
'Cause I'm cell locked in tha doctrines of tha right
Enslaved by dogma, talk about my birthrights
Yet at every turn I'm runnin' into hell's gates
So I grip tha cannon like Fanon an pass tha shells to my classmates
Aw, power to tha people
'Cause tha bosses right ta live is mine ta die
So I'm goin' out heavy sorta like Mount Tai
Wit tha five centuries of penitentiary so let tha guilty hang
In tha year of tha boomerang

I got no property but yo I'm a piece of it
So let tha guilty hang

America was built upon a revolution. I am sure many of you already knew that, but for those who don't, wtf did you do in school?! What is a revolution though? There are a few different definitions that I will provide, because they are important not only to what I have to say, but to America today. First; an overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed. Before I talk about that definition, I will give you the second; a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence.

Can you tell me the difference in these two definitions of the word revolution? The key difference is the mention of violence. In our society, we have the ability to vote and therefore can have a revolution of change every 4 years if we choose to do so; but in other societies today and throughout history that was not the case. In the earliest sense of the word, revolution was accompanied by violence almost everytime.

Karl Marx thought that he had studied history in a scientific manner and could make predictions on the future of societies based on the cycle of revolutions. He showed that revolutions are caused by struggles in the classes of the masses. So history would proceed on as it always had; from class struggle to class struggle, from revolution to revolution. He believed that this would ultimately end when a socialist society with no class system was formed...unfortunately his ideas were misused and the regimes we now know as socialists took over. I believe that Marx would have been disappointed if he could see how they used his ideas.

But Americans have a system that is much better than Marx's socialism...democracy. But it is not used by the people; many Americans do not vote. Do yourself a favor, and play a part in the future of this nation.

Chris Cornell

"Safe And Sound"

Think of a time
When morning will come
And you will wake up without the feeling
That half the world has gone insane
You’ll open your eyes
Reading your paper, a drink from your cup
No one was burning down time while you were sleeping

I’ve never seen but I believe
In a promised land

Why can’t we pull this together?
One and all, now and forever
Why can’t we pull this together?
We can say we finally found a world that’s safe and sound

Think of a place that you could believe in whatever you want
Not keep it secret
Have to risk your life just to be yourself
A place where you’ll walk safely no matter your color or age
More than the greed of you and me
Decides the fate of the day

I’d never seen but I believe
In a promised land

Why can’t we pull this together?
One and all, now and forever
Why can’t we pull this together?
We can say we finally found a world that’s safe and sound

I’d rather see you setting free than watch the curtains coming down

Think of a life you won’t take the breath from somebody else
One where you’re seeking more than yourself

Why can’t we pull this together?
One and all, now and forever
Why can’t we pull this together?
We can say we finally found a world that’s safe and sound

Why can’t we pull this together?
Now and forever
Pull this together
We can say we finally found a world that’s safe and sound

I’d rather see you setting free than watch the curtains coming down...
