This is very cool. Brubaker Guitars is going to build me the axe of my dreams. Their guitars are awesome. I love the tone and feel of a Brubaker. They also make some sweet basses as well. I am hoping to have it ready by my Christmas Show at Michos. When its done I'll put up some pics! Visit their website to check out what's going on. D

Drew Davidsen turned out to be one of the absolute best "finds" the JazzTrax Festival has landed in recent memory. I was especially on "the hunt" this year for young talent that few had seen and especially the West Coast had never seen. Never having seen or met Drew, I took a real chance in this booking and had no idea until the show began, how it would turn out. I knew he was good enough for the first third of the show, but the last two-thirds showed he was not only good enough, but a sure bet for other festivals to follow in putting this young guitarist on stages across America. He not only "put forth" an amazing live show, displaying a rabid guitar and pure enthusiasm, but he turned into the perfect lead on as new unbefore seen talent by many for the legendary evening follow through by the legendary George Duke. Drew himself couldn't believe he was leading off for George Duke. Audience response was that it was a 'perfect island match-up' with hopefully much more to follow from Drew Davidsen in future years.

On a recent trip to Nashville I was awarded a Momentum Award for "Jazz Artists of the Year 2009!" It was an awesome trip! My band came with me to play and shoot a new HD promo video as well.

"Drew, great playing! You have a new fan!" - Chieli Minucci

Hip guitar playing over contemporary grooves full of catchy melodies, very nicely done, several songs have been added to the playlist of SmoothVibes radio. Check it out! - Peter Boehi, Smooth Vibes Radio

The title of Drew Davidsen’s 2007 independently released solo debut This Journey has proven joyfully prophetic. Fans of Nick Colionne and superstar urban jazz guitarist Norman Brown’s blend of high energy melodic funk, crisp electric improvisations and laid back sensual soul will find an immediate emotional connection as they take This Journey. Davidsen kicks off the set with the colorful mid-tempo seduction of “Take it To The Maxx,” then doubles his axe with the sax for the similarly sensual vibe of “Full Circle". He follows the instantly hummable, soaring and anthemic title track with the bubbly grooves and crisp melody lines of “Flip Side” before going retro, rolling his sharp melody over thumping old school beats on “Straight Up.” Switching over to the acoustic, Davidsen waxes dreamy and eloquent on the appropriately titled “Nylon Rain,” then keeps the chill mode going with the passionate sax-guitar melody line and provocative electronic atmospheres of “Introspective.” Those atmospheres blend with elegant piano, punchy sax coloring and crisp, laid back guitar and hypnotic, shuffling beats on “The Long Way Home.” "2 After 12” is perhaps the hippest track on This Journey, a delightfully bouncy, electronica-infused retro soul and blues jam that seduces and hypnotizes at the same time. The guitarist taps into an Irish music and inspirational vibe on the lovely, swaying “Vision Quest (Be Thou My Vision),” which he follows by the easy simmering, blues-jazz meditation of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing”—which adds panache and soul to a standard whose legacy includes renowned versions by Sting, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. --Jonathan Widran, Jazziz, All Music Guide

I am giving This Journey a new look to go with MY new look. New photos, new cover art and the music is still as hot as ever too. I've been working hard and I'm down by 50 pounds and at the same time I'm working on the new album. This new project is produced by Eric Copeland at Creative Soul Jazz and features some amazing players! Stay tuned for more info!
