We regret to inform you that Manny “Punani” Perez will be leaving the band this summer due to conflicts of a full time touring schedule and personal/career commitments.  We assure you that his departure is on good terms, so much that he has also volunteered to help find the right suitable replacement before he leaves and continue playing all scheduled tour dates until such a replacement is found.  Manny is our brother and he will be greatly missed by all.  We are greatful for the five years of service he has given this project and most of all his friendship.  “We are gonna miss you brother.” - LSPS

National hard rock band  in search of professional drummer for touring/recording.

 Houston based hard rock band LSPS (also known as Lonestar Pornstar) is now holding auditions for a full time professional hard rock drummer to join the line up.  LSPS is signed to RIA Records/DEEP Distribution/BCD Music Group.  The band has two worldwide studio albums and will be starting on a third sometime after this summer’s tour is complete. (Fall 2009) They are currently touring regionally thru out the remainder of the summer in support of their latest release, entitled “Make Another Offer” which is available in all major retail stores thru out the U.S., Canada and the U.K.  Some of the tour dates scheduled for this summer include appearances with artist such as HED(pe), Mower, Neverset, Parabelle (Evans Blue), Primer 55 and many more.  Previous artist that LSPS have shared the stage with include but are not limited to Beardo, Boondox, Dirtball, Dirt Nasty, Framing Hanley, HED(pe), Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), LIT, Mickey Avalon, OPM, Potluck, Saliva, Spoonfed Tribe, Vallejo, Vanilla Ice, 2 Live Crew, etc.  Tour dates plus additional info on the band can be found at the band's official myspace page www.myspace.com/lsps 

The band is seeking a like minded musician with determination and a huge passion for music.  Individual must be located in or willing to relocate to the Houston, Texas area or one of the surrounding metro areas.  Rehearsal space is located in North Houston and practice is held every Tuesday and Thursday of every week when the band is not on the road.  Individual must possess talent and ability to play double bass but also the diversity to play many styles of music.  No attitudes, issues or baggage.  Keep your habits under control and to yourself.  Individual should preferably be between the ages of 20 and 30 years old with little to no personal commitments.  Individual should have his own source of transportation to and from practice and local shows.  We are not looking for a homeless person but this individual should be able to pack up and leave for an extended period of time with no worries.  National touring is the ultimate goal of the band but this individual should have some sort of means to support himself during breaks, recording sessions and/or regional touring until at such time the band tours on a full time basis 6-7 days a week which will be within the next twelve months.  The band is looking for someone with a broad range of musical influences but that person must have the image, look, ability, talent and over all personality to mesh with the rest of the group. 

Auditions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at our practice studio from now until further notice.  The band’s rehearsal room is located at Magik Studios on the northside of town right behind Guitar Center.  (I45 and Richey Road. – just south of FM 1960)  Individuals interested in auditioning for the part should first learn the entire new album or atleast 4 to 5 songs before auditioning.  The album is called “Make Another Offer” and is available at any Best Buy store under “LSPS’ in the rock section or if not available, www.bestbuy.com offers the same price and next day shipping. We regret to inform everyone that Adam Bomb is no longer a part of the LSPS line up.  We have had a great five years with him and are sorry to see him go.  Due to conflict of interest Adam Bomb has been asked to leave the band.  This by no means conflicts with any tour dates and/or scheduled appearances.  Adam Bomb is our brother and a talented musician.  He will be greatly missed by all.  For the sake of being professional and out of respect for Adam,  we do not care to discuss personal details surrounding the situation with our friends or fans so please do not ask.  We wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors and in life. The LSPS party has taken a serious turn.           

Houston's rowdiest rock outfit has turned inward on new disc Make Another Offer, the follow-up to 2006's friskier Protection. The new material is darker and boasts a harder edge. The group has also officially shortened its name from the more explicit (more fun) Lonestar Pornstar. Think of it as an artistic awakening of sorts.

Make Another Offer's 14 fiery tracks touch on themes of war, no-good women, politics, poverty and self-doubt. The lyrics are angry, but often arresting, thanks to charismatic frontman Gregg Stegman. His rock-star growl is stronger, slicker and able to adjust to fit each song's individual energy.

That chameleon quality is an effective tool and keeps the material from sounding repetitive. Guitarists Adam Bomb and Dallas Brading also anchor several songs with searing string work. (The lineup also includes bassist FenderPhil Lock and drummer Manny Perez.)

Disc opener Hearts on Fire goes from a pulsing effect to fierce guitars and throaty vocals; Horns and Halos is a bitter tribute to a devilishly beautiful woman. Fans of Linkin Park will likely find plenty here to love.

"I cry myself to sleep, but I stay awake at night," Stegman confesses atop the ominous instrumentation of Falling Down. It's less a wimpy admittance and more the musings of a tortured soul.

The group also employs thoughtful samples to drive home several points. Middle Class opens with radio reports of injured soldiers; Holy Land's state-of-the-world frustration kicks off with children singing a snippet of This Land is Your Land; and Satan Was an Angel borrows the rejiggered Biblical verse Samuel L. Jackson employed in Pulp Fiction ("And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance . . .")

Heavy stuff, but there are glimmers of the old LSPS energy, and it rounds out the disc's framework. (Expletive) Your Latte is a testosterone-fueled rant against corporate coffee ("Let me introduce your mouth to my fist"), and standout Sex, Love and Suicide captures the loose, frenetic energy of a band rehearsal. Tattoo Song, an ode to getting drunk and inked, is a moment of relative calm.

"We have really gone all the way with this new album," Stegman says. "It's a very different sound, but it's where we're at now."

We regret to inform everyone that we did not advance to the next level or place within the TOP 3 in last night's Bodog Battle of the Bands (Round 3) @ the House of Blues  in Dallas, TX.  The competition was fierce and it was an awesome, insane show!  We have never played a bigger, more rock star stage before and the crowd went nuts chanting "lonestar pornstar" before we even started all the way thru the intro.  We took two whole vans full of 30 crazy fans to Dallas with us that morning and we were greeted by atleast 30 more when we got to the club.  People drove themselves from all over Texas to get there to support us. Thank you very much guys and gals, especially the people that rode 15 deep in vans..lol.  Thanks to our Dallas bunch too and the people that drove from Austin.

For everyone that sent their well wishes and wanted to be there, we love you too.  We put on one hella of a show! Well here is how all of you can help us now....
