Miles Burnett (from Doctor Doctor and Country Lips) shot a video for our song Tall Landlords. It was filmed in the living room of our old house (1209) at one third speed and then sped up to match the song. The whole video is edited together from two takes. Why don't you check it out?

One song from the album that will finished soon. One live recording from 2007 at the Mars Bar of a song that will be on the album we start recording once this one is done. I apologize for our performance errors. We were young and confused. Coincidently the show we are playing next Thursday (March 5th) will also be at the Mars Bar and we will also be playing both of these songs. There will be no mistakes this time.

Hello friends and enemies (I would presume that if we have any enemies they probably keep tabs on us to make sure we're not trying anything tricky),

I wanted to write to you to tell you how we are. We would also like to know how you are so please fill us in.

If you don't know, we have been working on a full length album. We began the initial recording process in the spring of 2007. We started tracking drums and some guitar for the album. After those sessions started sounding like a real record we decided that it didn't really work... My idea? Record everything together as a band in the same room, live. I thought that this would be the only way to really capture the mood of what we had been doing over the last couple years. We were very fortunate in that, with the help of our very generous friends and family, we were able to use a huge metal working warehouse to record some tracks (see photo album). After two three-day sessions we had eight songs.

Now, after quite a bit of time doing completely unrelated things (and none of us being in the state of Washington all summer), the album is coming together. The vocals are about half done and then it needs to be mixed and (theoretically) mastered. All in all I would guess that it will be totally completed within ten years. Also consider my usual estimation rule, that recording generally takes roughly three times longer than your best estimate. In reality, I don't know when it will be done but I hope it's soon.

Thank you for reading!

If you are in the Seattle area pick up a copy of this week's Stranger (May 29-June 4) and gander page 53. It's the first time we've been reviewed in print! And it's hilarious... It's not really a positive review nor a negative one. It more comments on the description of our music that I pulled out of my ass a few months ago. What I want to know is what Jeff Buckley has to do with harmonicas?

Hey cool cats,

We have a new website!

http://songsparrowresearch.com/

We decided that the only thing we wanted to do with the website was let people download our music for free. So you can now download "The New Ragtime Revolution ep" for FREE!!! You don't even have to give us any information. Just click a button that says "download" and that's it.
