Plant Your Garden

Go and plant a garden
Where it's peace and joy may grow.
Like daffodils that brightly bloom
Above the melting snow.

So find a little time each day
That you can set apart,
To cultivate some flowers
In the garden of your heart.

And then, throughout the busy days
Your happy heart will sing.
And to the people that you meet
You'll be a breath of spring.

A Poem Written To Me By A Friend...

What do you see, tell me, what do you see?
Are you thinking when you look at me..
a silly young girl not very wise?
A big disappointment in everyone's eyes?
Who seems not to notice the things that you say,
only turning my cheek the other way?
Who isn't concerned how others may feel,
and the tears that shed are simply not real?
Is that what you're thinking?
Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who i am as I sit here so calm..
I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a mom.
Trying so hard to get my life straight,
never knowing which road to take.
Everything I do seems to be wrong.
Would somebody tell me where I belong?
I am looking for guidance, searching for love,
steadily praying to the good Lord above.
I started too young with wings on my feet,
not yet ready to make such a leap.
I've made my bed, but I refuse to lie.
For what good would it do if I dare not try?
I look toward the future
my hopes are held high,
determined to settle for no less than the sky.

So, open your eyes.
Yes, open and see.
Not a silly young girl, look closer.......see me.

My Reply To My Friend......

The young girl I see, has a smile on her face
And a tear in her eye as she hunts for her place.
Her nitch cut in life she's determined to find
Cut the fat from the steak, for NOW is her time.

A silly girl, yes; but oh, one so wise
She's no disappointment, in anyone's eyes
And closely we listen to all she may say
For it makes a big difference throughout every day.

So that's what I'm thinking, yes, that's what I see
When you're sitting there wondering and talking to me.
You're a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a mom
And one that anyone is very proud of.

You're also a friend and that's such a treat
With the charm of a child, one so innocent and sweet.
So let me suggest and I don't think I'm wrong
In our hearts....that's exactly, where you belong.

So at night when I lay myself down to sleep
I'll pray, "Lord, be the soles of her feet.
Carry her gently and show her the way.
Please bless her and give her a beautiful day."

               Southern Bound

I don't know…….
Why the north wind keeps on blowing
And I won't try, to figure it out.
But I know…….
That with each waking breath I'm taking
Is another day, I don't have to doubt.

Chorus
Everyday I wake up, I just try to keep on going
Knowing steps that I have taken
Keep on slowing me down.
I can see the sun is rising, just over the mountain
With the north wind at my back
I know I'm homeward bound.

Tell me why…….
A soul that's restless through a lifetime
Never knows, what love is all about?
Do they care…..
When they're hurting those around them,
Is it too late, when they figure it out?

Bridge
The rain just keeps on fallin' and the north wind's at your back.
You got the sunshine on your shoulders, won't you figure it out?

Chorus
Everyday I wake up, I just try to keep on going
I know the steps that I'd been taking
Have been slowing me down.
But I know the sun is shining, it's just over that mountain
The ole north wind, she's still a blowing
But I'm southern bound.

Easter Day

It's Easter Sunday, a baby cries

New breath of life before our eyes.

It won't be long until she crawls,

The first steps taken as she falls.

She's nurtured slowly so watch her grow

Who will she be, only God will know.

A loving home that helps protect

A path not traveled with neglect.

With guidance from her parent's hand

In hope that she can firmly stand.

And as she grows and life is done

She sighs a tear, her battle won.

That's kinda like the hands of God,

He watches closely the road we trod.

Yes, we'll stumble and fall of course

So tune your ear to hear his voice.

Listen close, you'll hear Him say,

"Hold my hand, I'll guide your way".

Years ago He sent His Son

To clear a path and bring us home.

The cross He bared, so we could be

Seated with Him for eternity.

With thankful hearts we kneel and pray............

Another birth on Easter Day.

Thank You  Anna.

Children's Wisdom

1. A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

2. A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

3. A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five- and six-year-olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?" One little boy had a quick answer: "Thou shall not kill."

4. One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother has several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?" Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white." The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come all of grandma's hairs are white?"

5. The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture. "Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.' A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher. She's dead."

6. A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.." "Yes," the class said. "Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?" A little fellow shouted, "'Cause your feet ain't empty."

7. The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note and posted it on the apple tray: "Take only one. God is watching." Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

New Special Forces Team in Iraq

The Pentagon announced TODAY the formation of a new 500-man elite fighting unit called the United States Redneck Special Forces (USRSF)

These Georgia boys will be dropped off into Iraq and have been given only the following information about terrorists:

1.) The season opened today.

2.) There is no limit.

3.) They taste just like chicken.

4.) They don't like beer, pickups, country music or Jesus.

5.) They are directly responsible for the death of Dale Earnhardt.

The Pentagon expects the problem in Iraq to be over by Friday.

I Hope Dancing With God
When I meditated on the word
  Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,

and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back

or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

and attentiveness from one person

and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word
Guidance.
When I saw "G: I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".

"God, "u" and "i" dance."

God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

that I would get
guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings

and mercies be upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God as God
abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

and to guide you through each season of your life.

This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.

Please share this message with someone else,
for prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards;

so let's continue to pray for one another.

And I Hope You Dance

A Bag Of Tools

Isn't it strange how princes and kings,
and clowns that caper in sawdust rings,
and common people, like you and me,
are builders for eternity?

Each is given a list of rules;
a shapeless mass; a bag of tools.
And each must fashion, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block, or a Stepping-Stone.
