I'm very sad to announce that DRD will be going on an
indefinite hiatus. DRD has always seen changes in its sound and members. And now
its time for another change... continuing to move on with DRD. We all remain best
of friends, respects each other and think that this is the best decision.
As
of the moment it is unclear if the plan for a new album will be completed. Half
of it has been recorded but not enough for a full-length album. Maybe it will
be released as an EP or singles.
This site (www.dierockersdie.com) will still continue to run for updates.
Champ
will continue making music with Rhea in magick orchids
is also busy in getting www.onlyfortheopenminded.com
running. I will continue making music with Josh and Ryan and probably with
other interested people.

Hello folks!
Just wanted to let you know that since this year will be out of the door soon the new one is just right around the corner, DRD is going through cccchanges again. Firsthand, Brian has decided to focus on other things and has decided to not be a part of the DRD anymore. With that we wish him all the best in whatever creative ventures he longs to pursue.
We are still working on the new recordings, which have been really a long and thorough process compared to ones that we were previously used to but we can only hope for the best in all these efforts. Josh and Oliver have been working hard in making sure that the songs represent us at our current state as a musical unit. We are all looking forward to get this done by next year or else it may take longer than a "Guns and Roses" record.
Also, we are sad to say that we cancelled our show at the Old Towne Pub on December 12th since Josh will be out of town and Champ will be out of bounds on this date. We still suggest you go see the show because its got some really good bands in the bill like Les Blanks,The Mormons and many others. We still hope to play with these bands in the nearby future.
Thats all for now folks! Have a great end of the year and may you find the strength to resist the great powers of consumerism surrounding us all at this time of the year!

Current mood: ecstatic
People are constantly asking us for copies of "Powered By People". Since we only made it ourselves on limited copies of a hundred we have ran out but we have made it available online. Somebody said "Its not the same as having the actual object!" Well, since we understand how people's love of objects are we have made a step by step process here to make yer own Powered By People CD's. So, lay off the crack, take a hit from the bong and get on workin, boy! STEP 01 download the songs at www.dierockersdie.comor if you want a compressed files go here: DISC 01: ANG PINAKA-UNADISC 02: ANG IKA-DUHADISC 03: ANG IKA-TULOSTEP 02 after downloading the album in its entirety burn each CD accordingly. just make sure to remember which CD is which to avoid confusion later on. STEP 03 drag these images here to yer desktop and print them to make stencils for CD. STEP 04 after printing the stencils, paste it over a cardboard and cut across the broken line. since the template is only for CD 02 and CD 03. remember to keep one arm from the negative of your stencil -meaning the part that you cut off since you will be using it for CD 01. STEP 05 once you got the stencils ready, place it over the respective CD then spray paint it in black color. refer to the images for positioning. STEP 06 after doing all the stencils on the CD, download the cover file HERE STEP 07 print and cut the cover and put it on a multiple DVD case which you can acquire from us if you ask politely or get from your nearest media store. STEP 08 listen to the songs and be happy for being involved in making yer own copy of POWERED BY PEOPLE. now go back to those bong hits and enjoy! peace!

It has been a while since we were in this blog mode, folks but we have our reasons. We have been busy recording the new songs that we have been playing in the past shows. Josh has been helping us a lot produce and engineer the whole process. We are excited to say that we are looking forward to get this recordings done because it is by far our best recordings ever, We are approaching this whole new recordings with a a different energy and a somewhat more inspired as fuck than ever since we all kind of share the same understanding in how we want to approach these recordings. We have right now recorded the following songs:
1. Circle Of Friends 2. Culture Vulture 3. Los Angeles 4. Prove Yerself 5. Accidents Happen 6. Leave It To The Experts
We still have to go and record several more songs and hopefully get it all done before the end of the year. As usual, all of us in DRD have all been occupied with living our lives, enjoying the views, scanning the scenes, indulging the senses, just enough to get taste but always open to let it go.
In case you haven't heard we are playing two residencies in the next few weeks. First is this Monday at the Echo, the show presented by Classical Geek Theater, which is a really well writen blog about bands and other interesting things in LA (thanks to the passions of Mouse!). We will be playing at this last day of our dear comrades, Death To Anders last night in their residency. Also playing are Rademacher and Fol Chen who seem to be really good friends of D2A's and as sonically titillating Im sure. Anyways, the other residency show is Manhattan Murder Mystery's residency at Mr. T's Bowl on October 16 which is going to be a really crazy fucking night because we are playing with all these badass motherfucking bands. MMM. The Health Club. and yes! Blue Jungle who fucking rock our balls out tonite at the Smell!
So thats pretty much it for now. We are just happy to know that you are still reading until here.

Hello wonderful folks from all walks o life! This is a blog! We are sad to announce that the 3-day Noise Pollination Festival that was supposed to happen at Zero Point Space has been canceled due to noise complaints around the South Central area. Their establishment has been barred from having any kind of loud/noise shows for a tentative span of time. Its kind of a bummer for us coz we have been really looking forward to this and also having to play with the long-time purveyors of free noise, +DOG+ and many other experimental noise acts. However, like everything else, we will move on and just deal with it. Hopefully, Zero Point Space gets to figure something out about the whole situation and we wish them all the best. Also they are looking for artist submissions and people who want to do exhibits and creative workshops, so if you have any of these iclinations, please feel free to contact them or check em out at their myspace or at zeropointspace.org. Anyways, tonitewe are going to be playing at Pehrspace and invoking the early spirits of the summer solstice. It has been a while since we have played some of the songs we are doing tonite but it should be lots of fun because we will be playing with the amazing sax player and ex-DRD drummer, Frank Velez who will make sure that we tap into the booty of the impossible sounds. Also playing is Micahel Nhat whos dope rhymes will penetrate yer head like a bullet and stay in there like a virus, Bastidas will also share with us their psych mystical music and to close the night will be sonic adventurers, Mospeada. So if you ever find yerself wondering what to do this Friday night, stop wondering and get yer ass over to Pehrspace. Michael Nhat goes on first, then DRD, then Bastidas, and then Mospeada. There is no pressure to go even if we are related at any way, but always keep in mind that wherever you are, never forget to have a good time. Anyways, we will be playing at Tribal Cafe on the 14th with Panic Movement, Shiloe and The Health Club. We will be playing a totally different set at this show just because we think it will be fun, so if you are down for some tapioca shake or some badass Filipino food then you know where to go. On June 28th, we will also be headin out to the desert to play at the Autonomous festival. This is brought to you by the badass people who use to run Zamakibo. However our newly engaged bass-player/hearthrob, Josh (congrats Josh and Monissa!)wont be playing with us in this show because he will be out of town. So, hopefully we can hold down the sound without Joshy around...We think this is going to be fun if we don't die of dehydration. There are so many cool acts playing the show. To know more you can visit their myspace page. If you want to get away from the city and be part of a bacchanalian orgy in the desert then this is the show. We'll make sure to post more info and directions as the day comes closer. Right after we come back from the desert, assuming we survive with our brains all intact, we will then play at Spaceland with our Central Second comrades Death To Anders whom we are excited to play with. Also playing This night will be Light FM and headliners, the Mae Shi, who are so badass, if you dont even know them, then you should go t this show and find out why. We are glad to be part of this show and to be playing with D2A again after a long time. Anyways, thats it for now...we have buttons and you can bring shirts if you want one printed. (Monissa, sorry for the delay but we till have to print yer shirt! Promise!) We hope that you are all at the best of health, soul and mind. And yes, we are all looking forward to see the Sex In The City movie. -c

Tonite DiE ROCKERS DiE will play at the Orange County Center For The Contemporary Arts for The Eclectic Company's Experimental Music Series. As usual, DRD will play last to make sure everybody goes home which is around 11pm. DRD will be playing with The Dig, Firethorn, QUan and The Chinese Take-Outs which are all really amazing bands in their own right. Regardless of whatever happens or whoever goes,we will have fun!
And also a couple of days ago Joshy got his bass head, a QSC RMX850 and his rack delay, a Yamaha E1005 stolen from his garage in NoHo. If any of you knows of any information regarding any similar stuff for sale anywhere, we would be more than happy if you can notify us. For this we feel sorry for his loss which is also DRD's loss but we are glad to say that he has finally gotten a new Seymour Duncan one and that we have been able to work with that in the previous show. Anyways, thats all. We thank you for your time in reading this.

There are copies of "Powered By People" now available at Don's Records in Eagle Rock. We will also have some at the upcoming shows. CD's are in a limited run of a hundred copies so if anyone is interested to have one reserved or shipped please email us at dierockersdie@gmail.com or simply go to the shows. After all copies run out, we are giving you the option to make yer own through the wonderful wonders brought about by the technology that is making you READ THIS BLOG possible. Here is a very interesting article from Wired MAgazine. Its Thom Yorke talking to David Byrne about Survival Strategies For Emerging Artists -And Megastars. Its a great read especially for many of you out there who want to make the most for all the time you are wasting and have wasted in this musical vocation. Bands. DRD gets funding from blue collar philantrophists so we have always done whatever we wanted. People ask us all the time about the new album and how we are cutting costs. Its funny to see their reactions when we ask them back "cutting costs? what the fuck is that?" Anyways, its always good to take responsibility for your creations especially when you know it will influence teenagers on what car to buy after they hear it on the car commercial. So its good to be aware of how the whole process can affect you being able to do what you do in the long run. We have currently started charging five bucks for the triple album but thats simply to generate funds to be able to make a different and more exciting album than this one. You can also pay us to stop making music but i don't believe there is anyone that could afford it. Anyways, Oliver's scene is right now in Cebu and in Berlin but DRD will play again soon. Keep shining on. -c

After all this time, its finally here. The triple CD has finally arrived in our hands thanks to the amazing production quality of child labor in the Philippines. All the children with or without their guardian's consent were first oriented how to assemble the CD's. Everyone was really cooperative so we did not have to use any kind of force. Since we tend to keep labor fair, all the children were well compensated with American goodies such as these and we bought sacks of rice for their parents and guardians. Everyone did a good job and did not even complain about working on the holidays. Now thats dedication! Anyways, its finally here and we will have copies at tonights show. We are not selling these but if you feel like you want to CONTRIBUTE OR DONATE some dollars..feel free to do so because we don't care about how much you can give us but only how much we can share with you (But i'm sure those child laborers do too!) This album is dedicated to Los Angeles, the people, the places, the city that we have adopted as our home for the past few years. It is a letting go of the sugar-coated possibilities that the whole music-making venture blindly offers and a welcoming of a new way of doing things instead of having to rely so much on how its always been done according to people who have been doing it a long time. People escape from their cages only to walk in into new ones. Then they spend their whole time convincing themselves that the new cage is actually beautiful 'coz it feels better and its covered in gold. We look like adults but a lot of us are still children. Beginners. Forever learning. Nothing is final. EVERCHANGING. Things are happening around YOU. Things are happening to YOU -within YOU. Have fun without even trying. But always be ready to let it all go. So, if you happen to find yerself at downtown Los Angeles tonite, its going to be one hell of a night at Charlie O's and we are going to give a physicality to that sound you have always been hearing in yer head but can't seem to figure out what. Together with The Health Club and Manhattan Murder Mystery. Entrance is free to all humans but feel free to drop donations at a donation box which we'll be setting up the side of the stage. And yes! grab the new CD because serves good as a paperweight. Also, THC and DRD won't be playing shows for several weeks after these shows to kick in their Third World Tour which kicks off in the Republic Of The Philippines on January 11. So, feel free to immerse yerself THANK YOU, CITY OF ANGELS. YOU ARE THE END OF THE WORLD TO ME!

The recordings we have been working on this year is currently being mastered and will soon be available for everyone who is interested (yes! all four of you!) After all this time of creating and recording songs ,we have decided to release majority of the available material as a triple CD album. Yes! it seems crazy and totally ambiguous but we have agreed that it is the best way to do this. So, you can think, say and feel how you want about it -it is still going to be a triple CD album. Album name has not been finalized yet but the track lists are already set for each CD though some song titles are always changing. These are most of the songs that will part of the album (not in any particular order yet!) 1 A Salute To All The Nonbelievers 2 Pearl Of The Orient Seas (afro mix) 3 Principles Of Accounting 4 This Never Happened Before But It Will Happen Again. 5 Television Worship (extended version) 6 A Much Clearer Vision (Pink Haired Girl) 7 I Wanna Be Just Like Everybody Else 8 Who Are We Trying To Please 9 At The Expense Of Someone Else 10 Failure Is Not An Option??????/ 11 Dirty Thoughts (version 2) 12 Everchanging 13 I Am A Magician 14 Information Overdose 15 Lullabye For The Middle Class (Twinkle Twinkle version) 16 5 Steps (Lo-Fi VS. Hi-Fi In Stereo) 17 Coming Home 18 The Torch 19 Need Vox 01/ Space Jam For Vonnegut 20 Due To Health Reasons 21 The Things You Do (This Girl Ate My Van) 22 Sing-a-Song 23 I Fly With The Birds (Jozz Can Play Jash) 24 Record Earrings 25 Rectum,Prostate,Uterus,Penis 26 Dub Express / Mind Yer Dub 27 Walking Naked In The Moon (Deconstruction Mix) 28 Keep Shining On 29 Just Like You Said It Would Be 30 Oh Please Turn It Down 31 You Killed Your Own Dream 32 Farewell Goodnight 33 All The Happiness (tibetan ) 34 Its All Been Done Before (version 5) 35 Spoken Words**** 36 Public Announcement 37 That Panic Sound We are excited to share these recordings with everyone because we have labored our best to make this happen. We are realistic about what we are doing and we understand that some people will think this whole thing is too pretentious but the truth is that we don't really care about them because this is only for YOU and YOU alone. Anyways, as we have said in the previous blogshit, we will be playing again on the 21st which is Madamn Grislees record release. We are excited because we haven't played live for almost a year and we know you're not going to be there unless you go -so it will be lots of fun for us. However we have cancelled several scheduled performances from the middle of January until late February because our lovely guitar swinger has to be away from the country for reasons we cannot disclose except that he will be accompanied by two thirds of our beloved comrades, The Health Club for the first few weeks of his trip. We will reschedule the performances by the time Oliver comes back and hopefully resume in recording more new material with the current line-up. We have also been going through songs with former DRD player, Brian Jordan who will be coming back for more action in the next year to do "sounds and magic" for us. We are happy about this because Brian has made such great contribution doing bass duties in the first DRD recordings like in "Pasagdi Silang Matigulang", "Anything Is Possible", and "Orenrock" but now with Joshy doing bass, he can add a whole different texture to the current sound (or unsound -whichever you feel is fitting!). Anyways, we hope that everyone got what they wanted this year. The priority is to share the shit we are making in the hopes that YOU who are thinking that you cannot do it will eventually believe that you can do it only if you DO IT. Create art. Make music. Live life. Smile hard. Keep Shining On. p.s. a new video is also up. leave a comment about it if you please because we dont care about the money and the fame but only the comments. yes! the comments (and that was supposed to be an an irony-free statement, whatever that means!)
