Rohan from Oh Mercy has put together his Top 10 gig list for 2009. The funny thing about being in a band is you don't get to go to a lot of shows - so some of these are shows Oh Mercy played and some are shows he went to!

The Veils (The Toff, Melb, Nov)
The Bronx (The Hifi, Bris, Sep)
Margins (The Old Bar, Melb, Jan)
Ben Folds (The Sydney Opera House, Sep)
Yves Klein Blue (Big Sound, Brisbane, Sep)
Children Collide (The Corner Hotel, Melb, Sep)
Ben Kweller (The Metro, Syd, April)
Canvas Kites (Revolver, Melb, Nov)
Kitty, Daisy & Lewis (Meredith Music Festival)
Young and Restless (The Arthouse, Melb, Aug)

Having been fans of the The Veils for a long time, Oh Mercy are pleased to join them as co-headline on their East Coast Australian Tour in November.

Oh Mercy have recently concluded their national 'Privileged Woes' album launch tour, selling out most shows on the epic tour.

These will be Oh Mercy's last club shows before heading out on the summer festival circuit., and the only chance to see The Veils in such an intimate setting before they begin recording on their fourth album.

Australian’s have had a long distance love affair with The Veils since the release of their debut album ‘The Runaway Found’ and then with the Triple J anthem ‘Advice For Young Mothers To Be’ from the ‘Nux Vomica’ album. In the new album‘Sun Gangs’ The Veils have brought Finn’s early influences full circle, and created a record that truly lives up to the huge promise and talent that they have always exhibited.

The Veils are Finn Andrews, (vocals, guitar, piano, New Zealand) Sophia Burn, (bass, New Zealand) Dan Raishbrook (guitar, odd noise, England) and Raife Burchell (drums, England).
Finn’s father Barry Andrews was a founding member of the highly influential group XTC in the late 1970s, later going on to tour with the likes of Robert Fripp & Brian Eno, Iggy Pop & David Bowie.
