Hi All,
Long time no speak, sorry about that. I've been busy gigging here and there and everywhere so have been a bit crappy on the ol' myspace. Anyway, I played two shows at the Camden Roundhouse as part of the Accidental Festival. It was BRILLIANT! Had such a great weekend, the weather was fab and the atmosphere totally rocked. By far my fave gigs of my life!
Coming up, I'm playing Sellindge festival at the weekend with Emmy the Great headlining the stage I'm on, so that's mega cool. I can't wait to see her.
Anyway, the real reason of this blog....From the end of July, I'll be taking six months out from performing and gigging in order to write new and hopefully a LOT better songs. I've started learning the piano, am going on an intensive guitar course and am planning to come out with something hopefully brilliant in Jan 2010. I'm kinda sick of singing my songs and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find the time to write, so I need to stop for a while just so I have that time again!!
But, while I'm out, I want a project. In addition to my song writing, I am starting an online music magazine. It's The Spit! Its going to be a site dedicated to everything music! If you're in a band/solo artist and want your stuff reviewed/promoted then let me know. If you want your gig reviewed, then drop me a line telling me when and where it is, and I'll either come, or send someone down!!
Right, best dash!!
Lizzy xxxx

Hello Everyone,
How are you? Due to some very mean and very awful financial problems, I've had to pull out of the tour I was going on with Nell Bryden, Kat Flint and Lana starting May 26th. This is obviously really really frustrating for me and I am so very sorry to all those I've let down. Sadly, I just can't afford to fund it so this is why I've had to pull out. I'd like to apologise to all those who have put time and effort into promoting me being there, and I hope that one day I can make it up to you.
I will be gigging up until July, left right and centre. So hopefully, if you can forgive me, you might like to pop along to see me at any of those dates. ON JUNE 1ST, I'LL BE RELEASING MY SUMMER SINGLE, I WORRY, I WAIT VIA INDIESTORE. It is up on my player, so have go have a gander!
From the End of July, I'll be taking a short break from GIGGING to...
a) Learn the Piano b) Get better on the guitar c) RE-learn the Cello and Harmonica d) Develop my song writing e) get aload of brand new tracks ready for you for relase in 2010....
Once again, my apologies to those who i've let down, if you were coming to see me, I will make it up to you... you can choose one of the following... a) I'll come play you a special gig at a location of your choice b) I'll write you a personal song...
Lots of love, Lizzy xxxxxxxxx

Hellooooo,
On Saturday night I went to see The Enemy at Brixton Academy with my friend Jennifer. This was the second time I'd seen them and I have to say, they are just sooooooo awesome. I don't know what it is about them, just the fact that they are so tight as a band, and seriously talented musicians. I was kinda bowled over. They have made my April, in fact, so far, they've made my year. I want to go and see them again asap!!!
Hope everyone had a fab Easter break. New York on Thursday.... EXCITED!!!!
Love from, Lizzy xxxxxxxxx

Hi All, How are you? Sorry I haven't been in touch lately, I have been stupidly busy while been suffering from wisdom teeth issues, so have been finding it rather hard to eat and talk, I've found a way though, where there's a will, there is a way etc... Anyway, the last few weeks have been soooooo hectic, I went to the BBC Radio 2 studios in between a sound check and a gig to record an interview for Steve Lemacq, it really was a blur, I'm just thankful the venue (229) was close the studios. I'm excited to hear how they've edited it and how they've cut out my ramblings! It will be broadcast in the next few weeks so I will let you all know then. But HUGE thanks to Steve and Pam the producer, because it was one of the best moments of my musical life so far! Then on the Saturday just gone, (Valentines Day), I went up to Birmingham to play on BBC Radio Birmingham for Janice Long, who I must say is a total legend, she was sooooo cool, and just how I imagined her. Anyway, we spoke on air about music and life and then I played a few songs, it was a super cool day, even though I missed my bus up there! I am being sent the recording so will stick it up on Myspaz for you all to hear! Been booking gigs in NYC for my trip in April, I will upload them as soon as I get round to it on my calender, any New Yorkers out there? Let me know, it'll be good to see you! AND FINALLY, LITTLE DAN/STARS IN THE WATER IS OUT ON THE 23RD OF FEB. AS YOU KNOW, I'M GIVING IT AWAY FOR FREE, ITS ALREADY MADE 24 IN THE TOUR DATES CHARTS, SO THANK YOU FOR DOWNLOADING IT, IF YOU WANT TO DOWNLOAD BOTH TRACKS FOR FREE, THEN CLICK HEREAnd yes, that's about it... How are you all? Let me know what you've been up to! Love from, Lizzyspit xxxxxxxx

Anyway, I've finished in the studio. I've recorded two new tracks with a super duper band who are just so good! I am really excited for you to hear my new stuff as its totally different from my lo-fi stuff you've been hearing over the last year. My producer Elena and her band have really done an amazing job... so, stay tuned. Also, check out http://www.elenaonline.com/ to hear Elena in action, a mega voice I say!!
And, we're going to New York!! Yes you heard me, on April the 16th I'll be flying out to the Big Apple to meet up with Elena and play some gigs out there!! I can't WAIT!!!!!!!
Right, enough of me and my ridiculous excitement. Oh one more thing, Steve Lemacq played me again last night!! He Rox My Sox Man!!!

Hello Everyone, well 'EGGBOX' is now well and truly released, and as promised, here is a round up of my reviews. I haven't been able to put them all in, and I've selected the best bits as I'm bias! Anyway, have a read, let me know if you agree, or disagree! You can download Eggbox HERE at Indiestore Muchos eggcellent love, Lizzy xxxxx "The chorus on 'Another Word For A Lie' gets stuck in your head. And before long - as with many indie-folk crossover songs - you can pick up the lyrics and sing along. 'Stars in the Water' is the rawest track on the album, which pulls on the heart strings with Spit's gentle, echoed voice and the simple, pure lyrics. 'The World Apart' is similarly downhearted, telling the slow decline of a relationship caused by a lack of communication." For full review: see: http://www.dailymusicguide.com/Reviews/lizzyspit_eggbox_album_review_14102008_1718.aspx "Lizzyspit's 'Eggbox' is actually a charming and enlightening work; Lizzyspit's open approach allows her audience to experience her trials and tribulations in the 'raw'. Her low-key acoustic guitar accompaniment is totally no-fuss, back to basics and its almost naive quality adds even more 'reality' to the mix. Lizzyspit's musical world might be simplistic but it's definitely not one-dimensional - this lady gets her message across beautifully and leaves you wondering whether she's been reading your own diary and put your life to music - such is the tangible nature of Lizzyspit's songs." See full review at: http://www.toxicpete.co.uk/lizzyspit2.html "Steeped in cute, wry and charming lyrics and melodies, Lizzyspit accompanying her efforts on acoustic guitar takes the listener on a folksy 'Rollercoaster' ride through today's modern word." See full review at: http://badrobot.co.uk/reviews/cd-reviews/950-lizzyspit.html.. "If Eggbox sounds almost too naked on the first few listens, its appeal grows with every play as Lizzy's stories draw you in ever closer with their low-key, truth-telling simplicity. "I don't need a drummer to make this a band," she sings, "I'm going alone 'cause it's what I planned." An admirable mission statement. See full review and interview with me at: http://wearsthetrousers.com/2008/11/03/introducing-lizzyspit/ "I have a soft spot for this album. In my heart I know that none these of these songs will ever be played on Radio 1. I know that 'Lizzyspit' will never become a massive recording artist with this release, but if I'm honest, I hope she doesn't. She doesn't really need to. What I admire about this release is that it's a complete statement of intent. For too long the music industry has focused constantly on 'perfect production' of records and we seem to have forgotten about all the things that made music one of the most special things that we endear on this earth. Lizzyspit seems to have her heart set on these special values, and made an album, that maybe lacks in quality, yet gives us all a sense of reality." See full review at: http://www.tastyfanzine.org.uk/albums79oct08.htmLizzyspit "Equipped with a guitar, a multitude of raw emotions and experiences at her fingertips and an obvious talent for penning beautiful songs Lizzy doesn't need anything or anyone else. She doesn't sing about what she thinks other people want to hear, she sings about what means something to her. It works wonderfully." See full review at: http://nsr.unionsociety.co.uk/pages/music/cd_reviews/lizzyspit_-_eggbox.html "Lizzyspit is very much her own woman and she deserves to find a massive following. Though it's name serves as an apt metaphor for the delicacy of her songwriting, Eggbox deserves to be a massive smash for this talented London artist." See full review at: http://www.indielondon.co.uk/Music-Review/lizzyspit-eggbox "Eggbox' contains some musical gems, which are just waiting to be worked on, allowing them to explode on to the music scene, and become firm favourites." Good Morning, Wow, very long time no speak. I'm soo sorry I've been completely out of touch. I have pretty much been banned from external websites at work and we have no net at home due to some BIG building works taking place over the next few weeks... So i'm gonna have to type at the speed of light to avoid being caught and fired.... I have so much to tell you allllll (Including you Daryl you Australian fiend you...) where to begin... Ok, first and most importantly, my album is now up for Pre-Release at the following link...It is released on the 3rd of Nov and is priced at 5.99.... bargain. YOU HAVE TO CLICK ON THE 'ALBUM' TAG AT THE TOP OF MY INDIESTORE PAGE... If however you want an actual cd with booklet and all, come to one of my gigs, where you can buy it for a 5iver... next one is my album release party on 3rd Nov at 12 Bar, Denmark St. London. Eggbox available hereAnyway, enough plugging....The reviews are beginning to come in thick and fast now which is cool, and I must say I've had a rather mixed reaction...its certainly caused some controversy... People have said its a very brave thing to do, releasing such a raw sounding cd, but as a result it lacks commercial quality... Thing is, it is meant to be raw, its an experiment and its all about the music... One day i hope to introduce producers, but I think I'm worried what they'll do to my sound... I like it to feel realistic and truthful...But then again, I admit I have to step it up if i want to take things to the next level.... After my album release, I'm gonna work on doing something 100% different to really throw a spanner in the works!!! hehe! I will list up all my reviews in time, but as i'm concerned i'm gonna get fired, it'll have to wait... If you stick my name 'Lizzyspit' into google, then alot of them come up! If you're bored, have a gander and lemme know what you think... One thing that has been happening as a result of my album is I have a lot of radio appearances and live sets coming up in the next few weeks. These include BEEB Exeter, Shropshire, Manchester... am really looking forward to that. I'm also going on Manchester breakfast TV. Me, first thing in the morning is NOT a pretty sight. Me first thing in the morning Singing, is EVEN worse... fingers crossed I pull something out the bag... I also have a london station appearance coming up but need to confirm all the details to that. Keep and eye on my gig listings... My guitar got sabotaged... yep.. someone ripped out all the wires, whether it was on purpose or an accident i don't know, but it would have taken some hefty force to break it in such a way, well this is what mr guitar fix it said... I'm now having to think very quickly about how i'm gonna raise the money to replace the system. Its prob cheaper to buy a new guitar :( very upset about it.... anyone got a spare?!?! ;) So that's about it... that's all my news rounded up very quickly.... I'm working on lots of new songs, and they are happy!! Yeah!! My new stuff is all happy, because i think, touch wood, I'm happy at long last, in myself that is... you'll notice from my current album that at the time of writing, i had a few things going on that hit me pretty hard... hence why it is a wee bit dark... So, enough from me, what about you? What are you up to? What's your news? Tell meee please as I need something to get me through the day... tell you what, email me at elizabeth_kw@hotmail.co.uk and let me know. Also, radio show is on hold at the mo due to techy problemos at the station, new bands and acts email me with trax so i can get my next show in order! Muchos love, lizzyspit xxxxxxx Ps. Someone very cool told me an awesome joke: On a cold, cold night, two bulls are standing in a field. One says 'Boy it's cold out here!' The other says 'Yes, I think i might slip into a nice Jersey'.... So bad its great right?!! ;) HAHA!
