Here is the untold story of Waste Basket. It is also half assed and I really can't remember a lot about it from all the partying, but here it goes. Me (Rockin Dom), and my old buddy Vlad who isn't in the band anymore, were going to be in a band with all our friends from school in 1997. Of course it didn't work out and we never were able to get together but Vlad and I became best friends and decided to write some songs. It was just me and him on guitar. And then I screamed the lyrics as fast as we could go.

We went through like 15 people who plaed drums and bass but none of them wanted to keep up with it. And we even had one guy who we called Frank on saxophone. We were never able to find a bass player or a drummer or any horns at all. We wrote about 20 songs with just guitar and vocals, some of which include Slob, Brainfreeze, All Alone, and Jock Punk. In 2000 we made it to high school and found Phil. He was going to play bass for us.  And he did. His friend heather who bought a drumset joined, Vlad and I taught them all the songs we had and we wrote many more. We just started to get good when Vlad and I got busted and I got thrown into rehab at the age of 16.

That's when the band stopped and broke up to never be heard from again. The years went by. Bobby who was at every show and practice started to contact me again. He was dying to start the band again. He knew we could do it. I thought about it and said what the fuck. So I called Vlad and Phil and Heather, Vlad wanted nothing to do with it for some reason. We tried to get him back in but he was not interested in playing rock and roll anymore. Heather was away at college so she wasn't in, plus she sold her drumset. Phil, who was like me and Bobby; floating around looking for something to do, decided to play.  We all got together and jammed all the songs from our high school days. They felt right and made us feel good about ourselves again. It was the right thing to do start the band up again. Now we needed another drummer.

Nick Jochim was a person we weren't friends with in high school. But we knew he played drums and liked ska so we added him to our roster. We taught him all the songs and were on our way. Waste Basket was up and running for the first time in 3 years. It was January 7th of 2005 and we played our reunion show at Brunswick Zone. There were a lot of old friends who showed up and it was an overall success.

Over the next few weeks Nick got his buddy Ninos to join the band and play trumpet. Finally the missing horn section was able to play so we went into the studio and recorded our first real e.p. "Just When You Thought You Smoked It All".

With this e.p. We toured the shit out of Illinois until Nick Jochim Left for another band Main Street Minority. There we were again with no drummer. Around the same time Phil stepped down from bass because he wanted to have a girlfriend and a normal non-music life. So no drummer and no bass player, but that all changed one day.  Billy Basket replaced me in a hardcore band called DIY. Since he quit DIY I asked him to play bass for Waste Basket. He was another one who watched us practice before and knew most of our songs. He learned them all real quickly. Then Charlie who is the boyfriend of Usha, who I work with, said he'd fill the void of drummer. We were back on track and started playing more shows all over Illinois bringing ska punk mayhem to all. Then one dark and cloudy day in 2006 Ninos called it quits.

Now we were without a horn section again. We played a couple shows without horns but it just wasn't the same. In the end of 2006 we found Joe, or Big Joe Sax, he helped us not only record our new full length cd, but also played out the "summer sucks so give us a blowjob tour." He then left to go to school and we were without horns yet again.

We ran into an acquaintance of ours known as Marty. He said he was down for jamming knowing that he plays sax. He learned the songs and quickly became part of the Waste Basket family. Then we kicked him out... i don't know why but he's gone now. After a while we got Andy 3 to play sax. He is still with us and is the best. Charlie our drummer kept fucking shit up. Not showing up to practice, not paying rent etc. So we kicked him out and gt Kangaroo Ligtbulbs to play drums. Aroung the same time of acquiring our new drummer we got Tim from the RIsk to play trombone for us and Hurricane Steve to play alto Sax. A real horn section for once!!!

Which brings us to the NOW!!! We just put out or new EP with all of the new members it is coming out in Novemer 15th 2008. That's the story, the time flies but this is what Waste Basket is, and we will continue to rock the world as the first Ska Punk Mayhem band.
