I wrote this letter to anyone who's listening and cares. I know many won't, but I've got to get this off my chest. Sorry if you disagree with what I'm saying, but it's something I feel strongly about and felt compelled to finally put in writing.
To Whom It May Concern: My name is Brent Keith. I’m a Contemporary Country/Rock artist originally from Blanchester, OH who now lives in Nashville, TN. I was featured on American Idol this past season (season 8) and made it to their “Top 36”. I’ve achieved other accolades in my career as well, such as having the theme song and music video to the film “Dale” (a documentary about the life of Dale Earnhardt) which was created and produced by NASCAR Images and CMT in 2008. I also placed 6th on the reality competition, “Nashville Star” in 2004. I feel that my experience, fan base, and position put me in somewhat of a position to possibly be of use to you. More than anything else, I’m a concerned citizen. I’ve been watching closely what's been happening to this country over the last 8 months or so. I feel helpless to do anything about the fact that so many things that have made this country the greatest country on the planet over the last 233 years are being so systematically and rapidly altered by a group of leaders who’s actions are being celebrated and glorified by an out of control, obviously biased, “mainstream” media. Please, if there is anything I can do to help the cause of waking up this country to what is really going on and to taking back control of what is being taken away from us, just say the word and I’ll be there. My services are at your disposal. I want to act and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe is right. I am one who truly does just want to do what’s best for EVERYONE. God’s Grace, Brent Keith

Hello all, It's taken a long time to get back to a state of normalcy since I came home from my Idol experience in LA, but I believe I'm finally back. I'd like to start off once again by saying THANK YOU to all of you out there who have supported me, not only through my "American Idol" journey, but also for the past decade or so that I've been trying to make this dream become a reality. I've come to trust in God and in the plan that He has laid out for me. He didn't give me the talents that He has and put me in the places that Ihave been for nothing. The hardest part is the waiting, but I have faith and believe that His timing is more important mine. I just have to keep my head down and continue on the path He sets before me and know that the reward is coming and that it will be well worth the wait. Throughout this journey, the e-mails and support that I've received from all of you have made it easier to carry on and I thank you for that. You've been the Abigail to my David. For those of you who know the Bible, that analogy will be a familiar one. For those of you who don't, I urge you to pick one up and find out what it means. It will be well worth your time. Now, for those of you who are wondering what I've been doing since I came home from LA and what my plans are for the future.........here you go. I've been taking meetings with folks in the music industry here in Nashville who have the know-how to help me figure out a game plan and I've picking their brains. The recurring theme that I'm coming across is that it would probably be best for me to take the "Independent" route right now. I'd love a major label deal, but one's not being offered right now anyway. The music industry is currently in pretty bad shape and because of this fact major labels aren't as willing to take a gamble on new artists anymore. At least not in the way that they used to be. What they're currently looking for is an artist who has already established a working, successful business plan when it comes to their career and who already have a proven and established fan base. That way, if the label does sign the artist to a deal, it's much less of a gamble for the label due to the fact that they're almost guaranteed to at least make back the money that they invest to get this artist off the ground. If the artist fails to break through and become a successful major label artist, the label hasn't really lost anything but time. So, my current plans are to do just that. I'm currently in the middle of writing new material to record an album to get out there to the fans ASAP, designing new merchandise to sell at my shows, putting together a great band of talented young musicians, and booking as many shows around the country as I can. Hopefully after all of this, the fan base will continue to grow and labels will take notice and come calling. At that point I can decide if that's still the road I want to take. Pray for me. I'll see you all out on the road sometime. Until then take care of each other out there. It's getting crazier everyday!

Current mood: blessed
Hello my friends, As you all probably know by now, I'm currently wrapped up in the craziness that is "American Idol." To what degree is still to be revealed, so I apologize for the vagueness of this blog and also for the lack of news in the past few months. They run a tight ship at "Idol," and whether I am still involved in the running or not, I don't want to do or say anything that could jeopardize the integrity of the show. They've treated me well throughout the process and I'd like to return the same to them. The purpose of this posting is to give thanks to every single one of you out there that have given me support through this endeavor. It has been a blessing to log into this account everyday and see so many new friends and to receive e-mails and comments of encouragement and support. It means the world to me that you have taken the time out of your busy lives to reach out to me and lift me up. I pray that I can one day do the same for you.

Current mood: sick
Hello again, I'm posting this blog just in case you're wondering what has happened to my page in the last few days. I recently reacquired the rights to brentkeith.com after a long period of trying to do just that. As I make the decisions about what I will be putting on each site, I've decided to take all of my videos, songs, and pics off of my Myspace profile. I promise to send out a bulletin and a general "heads-up" when I get everything up and running again. Until then, have a great Thanksgiving and a very Happy Holiday Season. As always, thank you all for your continued friendship and support. Take care of each other out there be safe in all you do.

Hey, I'm going to be doing a different kind of playing on Saturday, August 16th at Blanchester High School before my show later that day in Cuba, OH. I've been invited to play in the Alumni Soccer Game at my Alma Mater and I couldn't be more excited. It's been 10 years since I played a game on that field with my friends and I'm REALLY looking forward to it. Some of my favorite memories were born out there on that Soccer field. The Women's Game starts at 10am and the Men's Game (my game) starts at Noon. If you're going to be in town, please make it a point to come out and cheer us all on. I look forward to seeing you there.

How 'bout that! I looked today to see what my current profile view tally was. Imagine my surprise when it was 100,055. That's a pretty cool thing to me. I know that I'm extremely blessed to be in the position to be playing music period but for people to be taking notice of the music that I'm making is amazing. It means the world to me to see that so many of you are continually checking in and still interested enough to get my profile views over 100,000. I'm constantly working to cut a path for myself and to continue to further my career and I really enjoy it when I have something of interest that I can blog about and hear your responses to. There's a lot more coming, and soon. I promise. Just wait a little longer and you'll see what I mean soon enough!

Current mood: rejuvenated
Hello everybody, It has been a LONG time since I gave you an update on what's been going on out here in my little world and for that I apologize. The truth is that I've been pretty busy getting ready for and playing some shows. It's been a nice change to get back out there just playing live shows for the fans. I had forgotten how much I LOVE putting on a good show. I didn't realize how much I missed breaking a sweat playing music. It's funny the things you can forget and then the joy you can rediscover when you do something you haven't done in a while. Anyway, I've got something that I'm working on right now that I can't tell you guys about just yet. I can tell you that if it works out positively, it will be AMAZING! I'll keep you posted and let you know the outcome A.S.A.P. Until then keep in touch, keep checking back for updates, and take care of each other out there.

Hey everybody, I know I haven't been blogging very much since just before the holidays but it's only because there's not much to update you all on at the moment. We're working on making something happen but it's just taking a little time. I've been mainly focused on songwriting and developing things on that front since the first of the year. For the first time since I signed my writing deal, I recorded a song that I wrote on my own a few weeks ago. it was a pretty good feeling to know that the folks at my publishing/production company liked something I wrote enough to take the time and effort to record it. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to hearing the finished product and hoping we end up using it in the future. Well, that's all I've got for now folks. Keep checking back for updates.
