Happy New Year! I recorded a new album with Alessandra Celletti last October in a studio in Rome. The album is called 'the red pages' and will be released sometime in 2009. We have set up a myspace page for the project here: http://www.myspace.com/gnacwithacPrior to recording the album, I worked on the music with Alessandra at her flat in Rome. In late June, we recorded demos of the tracks live onto a little zoom mp3 recorder, with Alessandra on piano and me on borrowed acoustic guitar (thanks Alberto!). Two of these demos feature in the myspace player. More music will appear here later. Mark.

a new website by miltos manetas flash by christopher pappas music by gnac herewww.ching-i.com once you go on the site and get to the trees pages, press any key for info. from the press release: "what if there was a tree with a hole somewhere in your city and what if you write a message over a little ball, drop the ball inside the hole and send it to another city? according to the internet artist Miltos Manetas, such a tree can actually exist. he "planted" six of them on the websites of Paris, Madrid, Valetta, Riga, Brussels, and Bucharest. All of them make the net Noches Blancas Europa, and together they commissioned to Manetas an internet artwork that celebrates their connection and is to be shared with all the participants of the six cities. Manetas a london based artist, known as one of the founders of the NEEN art movement as well as the creator of the immensely popular jacksonpollock.org worked on the idea of communication between cities. His new creation, entitled www.i-ching.com as a reference to the Chinese oracle book I Ching, is what the artist calls an "oracle in reverse". the visitor of the website can write messages on a set of balls that come out of a hole in the tree. As an oracle, the tree will respond to the visitor's message with other messages written by other visitors who can access the site from other cities. The mesmerizing music is written by the british composer Mark Tranmer, known as GNAC, and the programming of the site is made by Christopher Pappas."
