I must start by saying I have never really written a true blog prior to this moment. Previously I have only written blurbs to announce some new or upcoming shows, but never anything truly personal.
Just a short time ago this evening, I learned that a friend of mine, JJ, had passed. I heard the news of his departure here in the MySpace community through, oddly enough, a bulletin. At first I read the information repeatedly thinking I must be mistaken....this could NOT be possible. But alas, it is no mistake, not a dream....it is real. My saddness is overwhelming at the moment and I cannot even imagine how many others, both family and friends, must be grieving right now. My heart goes out to them as well as my prayers.
Perhaps you knew JJ...maybe you said a passing hello out at a local bar...shared a drink....or listened to him sing a Karaoke song here or there. He was a kind soul, sometimes quiet, but always pleasant and eager to talk about some of his latest house remodeling projects. Often he gave me pointers and even offered to help me, should the need arise, with my own home projects. He always tried to make time for my music as often as his schedule allowed...coming to my shows and showing his support.
I shall miss the warmth of your smile, the sincerity of your eyes, and most of all your kindness in a world that so often can be unkind.
Rest in Peace JJ......rest in peace my friend.....
